I got into Hufflepuff! Honestly, that's got to be the best of the four as it encourages hard work and loyalty. And after all, I think Tonks shows that Hufflepuffs can be brave as well.

Pottermore gave me a choice between Hufflepuff and Slytherin. And other sorting quizzes seem to go between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I ended up choosing Slytherin, but if this were real life, I think I'd probably be more likely to end up in Hufflepuff.

It's funny, all the people I know who read or write fanfiction love Slytherin(s) but everyone I know who only reads the books/watches the films hates them and doesn't understand how anybody can like the "Dark side".

I really like your answer! It's foolish to believe that anyone who goes to Slytherin is evil. Every house have their dark witches and wizards, it's not because one of them was a Slytherin that all the other should be too.

I thought I heard somewhere that Ravenclaw actually produced the most 'dark wizards/witches' of all the houses... But none were devoid of them.

Yay! A fellow hatstaller! I suppose hatstalls are as rare in real life as they are in the book. ;D

And about the Slytherin = Evil thing, anyone who knows someone who thinks all Slytherins are evil should ask them if they think Merlin was evil then.

I did think it was interesting that JKR noted that not a single Slytherin student stayed to fight in the final battle. That doesn't help. I don't know if she wanted to imply that they were on Voldemort's side, or if we are simply supposed to assume that only those that were 17 and older were unwilling to fight; we don't actually know the thoughts of the Slytherins who were 16 and under.

Well, for Slytherin house, they had spent most of the war being mistrusted, many of them probably had family in the Death Eaters, even if it was extended, so I think they did have a lot more reasons to keave than the rest.

The sorting hat placed me into Gryffindor. I was hoping to get into Ravenclaw, as I feel that I'm more bookish than brave, but I guess I'm a closet Hermione in that regard. My friend took the sorting test at the same time that I did, and she got sorted into Slytherin, which i find funny, as she was hoping for Gryffindor ;p

I was sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore! I would have been fine with any of the other house eventually, but Gryffindor has always been the house I've identified with most. I actually want to get some of my other friends to make a Pottermore account so I can see what house they get.
