Now that things have calmed down, Shotgunwilly and I have been talking about the boards and believe it would be recommendable that people who continue their stories elsewhere - be it on different websites or as email list - don't announce it too publicly here. When people want to know what happened to the story, they can always ask the author directly. This would remove one of the last reasons why the boards could be attacked by certain people and not draw attention to the new place, if one exists.
For the same reason, I am considering to remove the Saved stories thread. It has served its purpose for the regular members, I believe, and by now there are only few demands for stories and mostly from new members who haven't posted otherwise.

That's a good idea, I was wondering if it was wise having the board here after everything that happened. It simply draws those who report us to all the other websites people are hosting their stories on :/

Exactly. It would protect people here better, too. Plus, personally I am not very comfortable with how many people leave their email addresses for everyone to see, but that's a matter of opinion.

Yeah, it kind of leaves them open to spammers and people using their personal emails for negative things :/ I completely agree.

yeah, I agree. If people want to know then take it to PM or even then, maybe, people could send mass PMs if they want people to know about their story and where to find it.
you are talking about just the RtB related stuff....nothing with regular fanfics, right?

I do want to read characters reading the books, though right now as you know I am looking for Hogwarts reading the books stories. I know that youfanfiction.com is closing down, and I don't suppose a lot of people are members of Archive of Our Own due to the waiting list... I'm not quite sure where else to look honestly.

After the stories had to be deleted here, too, to save at least the forum, I don't think Abbzeh continued writing in the first place. I saved copies and can send them to you, but that's all. If she keeps writing and updating, I don't know anything about it.

You have to sign up here (or at any other website with this service), only then you can use the PM function. Guests don't have these rights.

You should try fanfiction.net first - some of the authors are still (or again) on there with the stories you are looking for.

Yep, some are gone. That's why many of us started saving stories when the purge started. You might want to consider using Flagfic to save the stories you are interested in, either to just read or to keep them. |
