So, my favorite RTB (Which had somehow avoided the purge a few months ago, despite it's popularity!) Has finally been taken down . It's by RandomReader90, does anyone have the whole thing saved? I would love to have it

Very possible, yes. I'm still a bit grumpy that it's gone, too. It would be so much less annoying if the crap ones were targeted, too.

I would like to see that too, but if the admins are just deleting stories based on the number of reviews they get, the crap ones won't be noticed, because they haven't got many reviews.

It's really annoying, but maybe RandomReader90 will re-upload her stories, either on ffnet or somewhere else.

It's impossible to tell for sure, but from where I stand, it's obvious that the good ones with more reviews were the main target, while the bad ones with few reviews are taken down much more rarely, though they are more numerous. Honi soit qui mal y pense! Even more so as it would be easy to find these stories by way of the communities.

Sadly, her profile doesn't sound like she's going to try that, she's just talking about writing other stories.

Im kind of hoping that she'll write the story of how they actually change the future- kind of just pretend the reading had finished. Then at least we still get the story, and we can imagine the part we missed. (Though I must admit, I had been eagerly awaiting their response to The Prince's Tale and Hermione's time at Malfoy Manor.)

Yeah, had thought of that, as that part would be pretty interesting. It would be great if she did that, as she only was less than a book away from reaching that possibility anyway.

I was mostly curious on her take on how they would react to the way Dumbledore used Snape and set Harry up as the sacrificial lamb. Now I may never know.

That would be interesting too, though to be honest I never understood why everyone was so angry about that... it was war, things had to be done to stop it. If that meant sending a single person to his death (Which may not even be perfect) then so be it. Please? No. Would I prefer it otherwise? Of course!

So, I never could see the side of those who were so angry at Dumbledore for manipulating him. War is manipulation.

It's not so much just that decision for me, but the fact that we never get the impression that he ever bothered to find another way to remove that Horcrux from Harry. He didn't say he researched long and hard for another solution, right? He just decided that Harry had to die. (Besides, for me it's questionable that it was even a real Horcrux, it makes no sense)

Besides that: Dumbledore was the head of the judicial body and still did nothing whatsoever to make sure all these Death Eaters didn't walk free, pleading 'Imperius'. He backed for years an extremely corrupt Minister. I always wonder why Dumbledore, the leader of the Light, did never use his influence to change this? It's not logical that his word is enough to keep a proven Death Eater out of Azkaban, but at the same time he has no power to pour some Veritaserum down the other's throats.

Even in his school, he just sat on his bony arse and did nothing. He didn't even try to stop Draco after he very nearly killed two other students, because it was so much more important to redeem the bad guys than to protect the good ones. He never did anything to squash Snape's bias (which fired the hate between the houses) or the baiting from the Slytherins.

In short, in my eyes he did never anything to prevent another war, and you could lay a good many deaths on his doorstep.

Oh, and don't get me started on only telling three untrained teenagers about the Horcruxes, and sending them on a suicide mission. If the protections around the first Horcrux they found had killed them, what then? Why not sending the adults, seeing he had Aurors and a Curse-Breaker in his Order? They would have been much more suited. And he didn't even tell Harry how to destroy them. If Hermione hadn't basically stolen the books out of Dumbledore's office, then what?

It's simply the sum of his actions, and sending Harry to his death was just the last straw. I know many believe Dumbledore did all he could, but I think otherwise.

I'm in agreement with Kitty279, actually. Sure, I don't necessarily hate Dumbledore, but I felt he could have done so much more. It's easy to say that his hands were tied or he couldn't abuse his power. Given the fact that he had three Highly important titles (Supreme Mugwump, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot and Headmaster of Hogwarts), it's an almost guaranteed fact that people claimed that anyway just to tear him down. But how is seeing that justice is done correctly and that the guilty pay for their crimes any way bad? We try to do it all the time in our world.

Ah, my apologies, Kitty279. I jumped the gun on that score; it's just ... the series was so fantastic and the characters were really well done! Reading them was such a joy that I am just so sad that they were pulled. Once more, my apologies.

I don't know, some time ago I tried a few I remembered from before, and was in many cases informed the story was not on the site. So maybe a good number of the RtB stories were taken down there, too.
