Oh, I am sure we still would find plenty of reasons to argue why this should be different and why that is wrong ... Not sure if the independents could afford making such a movie with so many extras, but it would certainly be interesting. You know, the more I read about the movies, the more I get the feeling that there were more changes to some of them than to the whole LotR trilogy - and I know how people were complaining about these. While I can't really remember much of the PS and CoS movies - the only ones I have watched, once each - I clearly remember that we even after the first one already said we hope that one day someone is doing a remake. Someone who is obsessed with the story as we are and works more like Peter Jackson. If they ever do that, I might even watch them ...

Oh, the movies have loads of changes to them... personally, I'm not a fan. Except for GoF. That Graveyard scene is done so well!

oh, also, if I was JK Rowling I would definately change how the movies went. Actually if I was her I probably would have written the script myself, found myself a producer that fit my needs (not one that would go and add and take away things and actually listened to me). I probably would have gone the independant film way so that I wouldn't be under much of a contract. I would also have made sure that the films were by the book and had all the major parts. Unfortunately, this doesn't work. I know for a FACT that development of a movie based on Anne McCaffrey's Pern series has been in Purgatory for over a decade because she (and her son now, as she died not too long ago) wanted to retain creative control etc. Producers, directors, and suchlike tend to get VERY shirty about that. I wish like hell it did work, though.

Albeit I would have to clone myself. and in reality this is what I would like to do. My dream is to write a book, then write a script for it, do all the sketches and such. Not produce it or direct it, but all technical stuff I would love to do. I also would like to act a little....but not in a movie I wrote.

You'd indeed have to clone yourself - it would be immensely stressful.

well, even if I didn't do that, I would have tried to be there as much as I could and I would have nixed a few, if not many, of the discisions that were made for scenes. I would have kept the whole "mudblood" scar on Hermione's arm in Deathly Hallows part 1, but I would have also put in the crucio part from the book, I also would have had Ron calling for her. I can't believe they took all that out of that scene and that is the climax of that part of the book! I can't believe they down played it like they did especially since most of the movie was really mellow and that was climax of it.
