Why do Harry /Draco slash exist

Because, when done well, it is an interesting read. By well, I mean that the authors don't kill the character's personality to make their wet dreams involving Dan and Tom come true.

I don't know personally, it's not my cup of tea. The ones that I've read have over feminized Draco/Harry to make it seem like their in a Het relationship. Except their not. If you can keep them in character while writing up a plausible storyline other than 28 chapters of sex, then maybe I could read one.

I quite like Harry/Draco, even though I know I couldn't write one, not without about ten cliches on every page.

I think it started because of the looks of both actors. If they'd been ugly, it would never have happened. Also, the whole 'What if Harry was in Slytherin' thing, then would they ever be friends or even more. I think people also like to see the main character with their rival, or the really nice guy with the guy who acts like a total douche all the time (See: Naruto/Sasuke). I have to admit I do this in practically every fandom I'm part of, even Megamind.

I'm okay with the pairing, if it is done well.

While i dont have a problem with slash it gets a bit disgusting for me if the two involved happen to have a large age gap. I mean being in a relationship with someone who is old/young enough to be their parent/child is a little strange. Also it really annoys me that when most think of romance it has to be sex every other chapter. Or if it is not sex then it is a heavy makeout session. I dont believe that love is just sexual desire. There is a lot more to it imo. That being said, i dont mind a Harry/Draco pairing if it is well written, the relationship progresses slowly, they are in character, and of course there is a good reason why they like each other. It annoys me when one second they are enemies/rivals and next its like " That guy looks hot. I think i love him!"

I personally have no problem with at one point Harry questioning his sexuality (as i think he might have when he was 14 or something) as quite a few boys do that at around that age but i personally imagine if Harry did try and imagine being with another boy like that he would probably imagine Ron since he loves being with Ron and he has also seen Ron naked.
Of course Harry would eventually come to the conclusion that he is not gay but i do think that the thought of Ron having sex with him is not something that would completely disgust him even though he would not consider himself gay or even bisexual.

Unfortunately, the whole he's so hot line is generally how most slash fics between Harry/Draco are done, bluestar :/

Yeah, I see that a lot. There's also a lot of Neko Harry fics which I think are just ridiculous. Why is it cute for a guy to have cat ears and tail?

I know I say it a lot, but I really like Lomonaaeren's Drarry fics. I haven't actually read any in a while, though.

I love Draco/Harry veela stories (I don't care if they're cliche, still love them) the best of which is 'Not Your Usual Veela Mate' even though it is still a wip it has 69 chapters.

I agree with Black here! Fanfiction can be anything you wish, so why not be as creative as possible?

Thank you Kuma In Pink! I've never understood why some people insist that everything has to be canon. It's boring! Fanfiction is to explore all possibilities.
brokenquill92: Nope mpreg doesn't weird me out. I think it's fun watching a guy go through it, as long as it doesn't take over the story so that it's the main focus.

I do have problems with MPREG birth scenes... I'm sorry, but it is rather weird to read...
And you're welcome, Black~!

What if it's MPREG with caesarians instead of natural births? I must admit I'm not keen on MPREG fics any more, but I used to. I don't mind if two male characters have a child together so long as they don't include the actual pregnancy, like the child has already been born.

I don't even want to know about caesarians... it's too squicky for me. Then again, the idea of pregnancy scares me.

I used to love HArry/Draco, and I still enjoy is though My obsession is now on Marauder slash fic. MPreg... I don't read it much. It doesn't make sense to me, and my mom is a nurse in Labor and Delivery, so with her and my pregnant sister around, I tend to hear a lot on pregnancies and I just can't see a guy going through it. An interesting concept, but how does a guy get a uterus, and an egg and then go back to being a guy after the birth? I'll read it, but not normally.

I'm not a big slash person unless it's written right. I personally don't see how Harry and Draco can be a couple. But that's just me.
