IMHO, if someone slams their fist repeatedly on random spots on a keyboard, chances are that whatever you get out of it is more legible and understandable - and a closer attempt at English - than My Immortal.

It's alright, but just until it gets to the point where the spelling mistakes make it impossible to read anything.

Anything with Flich in it is a pairing I avoid like a plague. Most everything else I can deal with though/ do read. Hermione/Ron is one I have problem reading, but I can do it sometimes... I never like them together.

*gag* Ew.... Filch.
Actually, I kind of pity him a bit. He's a squib so that means he must have had a hard life... =/

I agree. He should have been encouraged to interact with muggles rather then hanging around those he is bitter of.

Filch is honestly the most pointless character in existence.

I agree. At the very least, he should have gone to the Muggle World. He might have not been so bitter.

Maybe Dumbledore kept him there for his own good, as he did with Trelawney, with Sirius in GP and Harry in PD. After all, Filch could not be left to fend for himself in the strange Muggle world, could he?

*sighs* Enough with the freaking "good of others" Dumbledore! *grumbles* You only make things worse, you annoying old fart!

Yeah, and stop that grandfatherly attitude while condemning others to hell, it makes me sick!

Me too! You know, one rant never seems to be enough against him...

No, and even if it were, then you go reading a fic where he's his usual twinkly, manipulating self and you can start all over again!

It's the rant that never ends! It just goes on and on my friends! Because Dumbledore is such an old goat, we can't stop rocking his boat! It is the rant that never ends! It just goes on and on my friends!

whenever I come across a story like My Immortal or a crazy pairing I take on the phrase that usually is put in a comment on a weird video on youtube, "I'm in the weird part of Fanfiction again!"

Actually, it can be a squick if it's a canon couple. All that is required is that you REALLY don't like the idea for some reason.
Just because it's canon doesn't mean you HAVE to love it. *snerk*

Don't have to love it but to me a squeak couple is something like Snape/Hermione or Lucius/Hermione which is squeak because of who the characters are and the age difference between those characters.

*shrugs* That's you, and that's fine, and I even agree with you on those examples. Just saying that the definition of squick is different for everyone.

Yeah, we all have our different preferences and such. That's what makes fanfiction so unique and different! If we all liked the same things, it would be just as dull as Privet Drive, don't you think?

And websites like this one would be boring. Can't you just see it - one says something about the books, and 20 others answer "yes, I agree" in sometimes slightly different wording. No discussion needed - and no website.

If Filch is to go into the muggle world, then Mrs Figg should be able to help him, as she herself is a squib and be able to help him through it (along with Mrs Norris).

I will give anything a chance. I read slash, femslash, het, incest, rape, and a whole host of other things. If the grammer is terribly bad, or if the overall flow of the story is suckish, then I just can't finish it. Sometimes the summary is great, but a detail or two in the story is just so outlandish that it makes the whole thing unbelievable. The only stories that I really don't like are the ones where Dumbledore is either sugary sweet and has the best intentions for everyone, or where he is a 100% manipulative bastard. I like a middle ground. I can't stand long lost sibling fics, and I'm not really into time travel either. There are evil people in Harry Potter, so torture is something I can read, but over the top/unrealistic torture is something I don't really like either.
