I'm glad I bought the extended blu-ray box set of LotR. It has 15 discs and over 120 minutes of extra footage for all three movies. How much did all that cost?

I bought it from Amazon a few months ago and it was on sell for $59.99. The regular price is about $79.99 on Amazon now. Either way, it is worth the money when you add all the special features that are included in the release.

Again I say wow. I would never pay that much money. Actually I would for a huge amount of bonus features of HP that hadn't yet been released (went on the tour and am going again!).

I do believe that they will be releasing a box set for HP in the next year or so. I also heard that they will be including commentaries and extended scenes in the films. Now, this is just a rumor but it would be insane if they did not do this for such a moneymaking series like HP.

It will probably be like $180.00 to $200.00 when it is first released and that is an insane price for a movie box set. The sad thing is I would buy it in a heartbeat then rage when the price drops to $100.00 in 6 months.

Hey all, I thougth it would be a good idea if I shared this link for the people who grew up in the '90's. This site is very funny and makes you think back to when you were a child of the '90's and all the fads that were around. It also talks about TV shows, games, toys, etc. that were big hits back in the day and leaves you feeling largely nostalgic for your childhood. things90skidsrealize.com/

I have a friend who wants to try doing a Harry Potter marathon this summer. I think it would be interesting, but I'd rather do it over two days. Nearly twenty hours of straight movie isn't exactly my cup of tea.
I'd love to see all of the deleted scenes that didn't even make it to the deleted scenes as well as goofs and whatever else they see fit to release.
@cody That link was quite interesting. I'm a '90's kid, but as I was born in 1994, I don't remember stuff too much.

I would really enjoy hearing a cast commentary for all the movies. I am a big commentary fan because I find it very interesting on what the actors/director/producers/etc think of the finished product.

Sounds fun, but you're right, watching HP movies for nearly 20 hours would be..exhausting. Plus I'm sure you'll want breaks in between movies. That's what my friends did when we had a Disney movie marathon.

It sucks that you have to buy the blu-ray/DVD combo packs nowadays if you want to listen to some commentaries. I really see no point of them making a blu-ray for some movies. Why would I want to see The Simpson's Movie in blu-ray? It just does not make sense.

Oh I know! The past few Potter movies have been like that, haven't they? The whole Maximum movie mode thing, it sounds awesome, but unfortunately it's only for blu-ray movies..

I did a marathon of those films in a day once. And then the next couple of days I did Harry Potter. That was a fun weekend. LOL. We did it at the cinema when RotK came out - all three in one sitting. And my friend and I already decided if they do a 5-film-marathon when the second Hobbit movie is out, we'd be crazy enough for that as well. I'm glad I bought the extended blu-ray box set of LotR. It has 15 discs and over 120 minutes of extra footage for all three movies. Oooh. The EE of the normal DVDs only had 12 discs. I'll have to check with my friend for differences, I know she has the Blu-ray edition, too. Though I don't have a player for that new format yet, but I just might get one ... *sigh* The sacrifices we make for our favourite fandoms!

This reminds me of our yearly LotR party we hold... over a three day period, a movie a day... Tis fun with everything beyond the movie that we do!

I used to be turned off to commentaries, but now I look for them in the Bonus Materials, that and the deleted scenes. It sucks that they have no Bonus Material for DH part 2! You have to get the stupid blue-ray to get that stuff! What if you can't afford a blue-ray, you miss out on the best stuff, like I did before my parents decided to finally come out of the stone age and get a DVD player.

I was gutted that I couldn't watch the Maximum Movie Mode because I don't have blu-ray, but I always devour all the extras and deleted scenes. There are quite a lot of the original scripts online too, so you can see the bits that didn't even make it to deleted scene.

...I'm a little worried about my colleagues. One of them just walked passed me panting like a dog and the Umbridge look alike who has been ignoring my existence for a couple weeks decided to have a whole conversation with me, and she STILL doesn't know my name.

HAHAH! I don't think she even knows I'm a fan...
Speaking of, the guy who sits opposite me says his sister was good friends with the guy who did the cover art for the first book. How true do you think that is?

Might be true or not, can't really tell. Even artists have friends, after all. And you are in London, right? Where Bloomsbury has its office, too? But to have a real opinion if it's true or just bragging, I'd have to have a better idea how reliable someone is.

Lol, well I think it's one of the only actual 'conversations' I've had with the guy. He doesn't talk much so I can't say how truthful he is.

Has anyone noticed the new changes to FF's review part yet? Don't think I like it at all.
