For awhile now I've had a couple of ideas to do a RtB fic, one of which I've never seen before. (Of course, that's not saying it doesn't exist, I just haven't seen it done before.) Before I actually post anything or ask about a place to post here, I want to actually get some of it done first so I can take a bit of time getting started.
What I need help with is the fact that I don't have e-versions of the books. Could someone point me in the right direction for copies? Even better if they're free downloads since I'm strapped for cash after getting laid off. American or British versions are fine, as long as GoF is the version with Lily coming out of Voldemort's wand first in the graveyard and telling Harry that James is on his way. I can't help it, the other version drives me nuts, lol.
Thanks for any help, guys! (And sorry for any typos - I had to do this from my phone today.)

Have you considered using an already complete RtB fic and taking out the comments that the author added? It's free and would just take a bit of time to remove the comments and fix the formatting (if that's needed). You might even be able to download the books from thepiratebay.org or other torrent sites. If you end up with the James first version of GoF you could always use the HP Lexicon to get the correct text and change it.

Or if you have copies of the actual books to hand, then after you've copied an already complete RtB fic, then you can go through it, with the books to check that the text is correct.

www.freebooks2u.net/authors/J_K_Rowling.html Has all of the books. No download, no fuss. The only problem is that you get these (, . ") written as letters. It's a brilliant site for other books if you would wish to read them..
