I'd like to say a little something about the south- wonderful people, if I do say so my self. SUre, your get your racist/sexist/bigoted idioit occasionally down there, but there are some really nice and welcoming folk too. I'm really used to the south, having visited both Georgia numerous times and Texas. (Dad's side of the family is pretty much all southern.)

I am from the land of Denial, where Sirius, Moody, Remus, Tonks, Hedwig, Dobby, Severus and Fred never died, but Voldie and all the 'true' DE's did. Messily. As did Fenrir Greyback. *nodnods* Ok, seriously, I'm from Illinois, in USA, about two hours south of Chicago. *lol* Love that! I'll have to find a house in your neighbourhood in Denial, then. Until I can manage that, I am still living in Bavaria, South Germany.

I know. It's annoying, despite the fact that I'm pale and have no accent, I still get idiots who keep asking if Australia is cool.

Vira, actually from what I can tell, my Aussie friend is rather pale as well. They go out only protected because of the high danger of skin cancer when being outside unprotected. Can't say if that's true for everyone, but they aren't necessarily tanned.
Want to get there, too - both NZ and AUS. My chosen "sister" lives in West Australia, that alone would be reason to get there. And of course, there's NZ ... after LotR, I got really interested in the country, it looked so beautiful! And the more pictures I see, the more I want to go.

So many people from all over the world... Impressive! I'm from a little town on the coast of Lower Saxony, North Germany. Lots of flat countryside, lots of fens, and the Wadden Sea...

There's location in modifying your profile for a reason. Eh.
...LOOK AT IT. But if you want a bit more specific, I'm near Disneyheim. Well, the place isn't actually called that, but... it may as well be, for that area. Luckily, I'm outside of that zone, just barely. Now, use your sleuthing skills to figure things out! Yarr.

It is if you're completely batshit insane.
No insult to the Aussies here, but good god almighty ... that entire fricking continent is all 'I WILL KILL YOU!' at humankind. I've *heard* the tales.

I'd laugh and tell you to go for it. My hometown's boring as hell.
Don't get me wrong ... Australia's pretty fricking awesome ... the scenery and wildlife both. It's just ... every damn thing on the continent and in the waters around it is like, #1 on the 'most lethal' list of its species, y'all have TREES that randomly explode and drop heavy-ass limbs for no good reason, and suchlike things.
Takes a special brand of person to not only survive but THRIVE, is all I'm sayin'. *snerk*.

We probably live fairly near each other then. I live about twenty minutes away from Disneyland in Irvine, CA. I live in the UK, north east Scotland to be specific. But currently I'm in Florida soaking up some sun You wouldn't happen to be related to the McKay/Mackay clan would you? I'm descended from a family who immigrated to Canada, and then my grandparents came to the US. Oh, and back to the flying car/hoverboard discussion for a moment, here's something that my interest you. www.bbc.com/news/technology-17626818
