There is no mention of the Potter will. So how about this scenario James and Lily where smart enough to write one, and gave it to a high up official to read and execute it in case they died. And inside of the will it states Peter was the secret-keeper, and Harry must go to Sirius Black for custody, and if he is unavailable he goes to some of their other friends. In no way is Harry supposed to be with Petunia. I would prefer the Potters trusted Amelia Bones, Tonks mother, or even Crouch Sr.

Honestly? I've only written 3-4 chapters of my own story, haven't made the effort for a new chapter and as you can see from that story, I'm crap at writing wills.

Not read that story yet, I believe, still working my way through a few others. There are times when a time turner would be useful.
In any case, I know what you mean, the will in my own story gave me quite the headache as well.

yeah i actually had to search FF for really old will's and managed to find one where Lucius leaves everything to Darco, but he can only access it IF he marries Hermione.

That would be a very strange one, seeing how prejudiced Lucius is. Look at the lengths he went to to get one over the 'mudblood lover' Arthur!
