True, she was more flattered about the fanfiction, as far as I remember. But obviously, these critics don't care. They only do care about their own stupid rules.

Please don't refer to them as critics, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to read, try bully, flamer, or asshole instead

I'm actually shocked that a site as big and well established as ffn doesn't have a rule against bullying. It almost seems criminally negligent what with all the suicides connected to cyber bullying nowadays.

Ok, if you wish. Weren't they calling themselves Critics Union or something like that? (Really not worth bothering to memorize their name). Your names fit better anyway. How about renaming them Bully Union?

Bully Union sounds great... Asshole Union

But you can shorten it to BU. AU has another meaning in fanfiction already.

How about renaming them Bully Union? Actually there are two groups: Critics United and The Literate Union. Literate Union is as bad as if not worse then CU but since they seem to keep a lower profile most people don't seem to count them as a big a threat as CU

Thanks for helping me to sort that out! True true. BU. You're a genius, Kitty. Thanks, but in truth, I am just lazy and love that sort of abbrevation to save the typing.

You know, BU sounds like boo..,
As for the proper name for the groups, does it matter? They're really just the same type of people with different skins and one identical body structure.

I hate to say it but fanfiction has gone down the drain. This site is so much better.

This site is much better but you can only read RtB stories here and that is just a small portion of the stories I like to read. Not that I want this site to expand beyond RtB, I think that woud ruin it but it does mean that I still have to go to ffn to read stories especially since there are probably at least a dozen or more stories that I absolutely love on the site that are still wip's.

I know what you mean. I'm following a few non-characters reading the books stories and a few from other fandoms. I don't go as often to fanfiction anymore and I don't scan the new stories. I just keep it to what's on my favorites list.

I still look a bit after new stories on ff.net, but I'm not there as much as I used to be.

Well screw FFN. If they're going to go down the shitter, we don't need them if they go under.

Boo - BU? See, I never think about how it sounds when you say it Yeah, if we could have all our stories elsewhere, it would be perfect. Someone even could open a second site for the non-RtB stories. But we won't be able to get all authors to move there, sadly.

There are plenty of other sites that can be used by those who don't want anything to do with ffnet, but I can't see people moving to them, when it's so easy to upload something on ffnet.
I do still look at new stories occasionally, but what I mainly do is go through the favourites of every author whose stories are on my favourites list, trying to find out what other stories I like.

But, Kitty, it's great to call them that BU (boo), it means they suck Agreed... Would be nice to find a side with as many stories as ff.net. How come the side becomes easier to deal with, and on the same time, a horrible side who helps bullies.

But we won't be able to get all authors to move there, sadly. No all the authors wouldn't move there, I mean look at the two new sites that opened in response to the purge, NO ONE is posting on them they've all stuck with ffn even though the new sites look like they could be just as good if not better then ffn. So yeah...it sucks but I'm stuck with ffn since it has the biggest and best variety of fanfic. If the site ever did close it would be horrible, all the authors would scatter to different sites instead of coming together and moving to one new site.

That's the problem, yes. If I ever get around to post my story, I won't do it on FFN, I think. On principle not. It's sad that so many are too lazy to move their stories and make a point. IF they did, FFN would look rather old all of a sudden. But I guess with the size of that archive, that's never going to work. Sad.

That and people are review whores.

I think the main problem may be that ffnet seem to block PMs with urls that have nothing to do with either them or fictionpress, so people can't easily tell others about other sites.
Now if there were forums like this, but each one focussed on one thing that ffnet doesn't like, then that would be good. For example, having a forum purely dedicated to songfics, or a forum purely dedicated to Harry/Lucius slash stories, then I would want to be one of the first to sign up.

I hate reviews whores. Alright it's nice to get reviews, but to say : "I won't update, until I've gotten 15 more updates," is so... annoying, that I quit read the story.

Yeah, I get depressed if a story of mine loses reviewers, and I may comment on it, but I feel cheap telling people to give me reviews for updates, it feels like I'm losing something as an author, you know?

Yeah *sighs* It's just annoying. Writing shouldn't be about self-validation in my opinion. It's about selfishly enjoying yourself in the works you create.
