Well pureblood family are always related, since they there aren't many people to marry, if they want to be pureblood.

Once again, Harry wouldn't exactly know that, would he? He isn't exactly the studying type, and he never really bothered to get books about wizarding customs or history.

Still think if he knew the names, he should have recognised them on the tapestry. But then, I don't believe they were James' parents anyway, because around 40 doesn't count that much as 'old age' for a wizard and they died relatively young. Just thinking *if* they were, then JKR should have mentioned something. But maybe she made the family tree up only after OotP was printed? I have no idea from when it really was.
