So, I've just received a lovely little letter from what I assume is a critics member, telling me that my fic is going to be deleted from their site. Actually thought I'd made it out relatively unscathed, but it seems not...at least I have this site to post it on now.

Really sad  But I noticed that from the C2 I am using to keep track of my RtB stories there are still stories vanishing. It has slowed down to a few stories per week, but they are still at it. |

I'm actually pretty sad about it she actually had the cheek to call me an idiot among other things, when I'm the one who actually writes while she just makes angry reviews to people. |

No question who the real idiot is, right? These CU nuts are mostly unable to do anything productive with their lives, and so they go to destroy other people's work. I could even pity them if they weren't so annoying and harrassing other people.
Just remember, if you want to keep them and haven't done so already, then save your reviews in time.

I never even thought of that! Especially since I got a review from Rosedragonwitch...I'll do that today, and then I'll post a note (which will annoy her even more, ha) letting them know about this site and how I'll be continuing the fic here instead.

Ok, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can save the reviews  I believe they are e-mailed to the author, but as I never posted anything, I can't be sure, and I have no idea if you kept the mails or if you'd have to save them from the website. The only thing I am sure about is that the reviews are vanishing with the story if it's deleted. Yes, let your readers know, they will be glad to know that you are continuing elsewhere. I know I keep a list for my favourites for the same purpose. |

They are sent to the author, but I always end up deleting them because they clog up my inbox I'll just fetch them from the site instead. At least there's another option available to me now, before I would have just had to stop doing it. |

If you can't keep the email, then screenshot the page. I've always done that with the more inflammatory reviews, just in case they try to complain about something.

That's what I feared, and why I brought it up. I download my mails and can store them on the pc itself, so it's not a problem, but many keep them in the mailbox at gmail, hotmail or whatever they use, and have to delete them for space reasons. Yes, at least now we have other places to post |

Its okay, it allowed me to copy and paste them into a word document from the story stats page, and i saved favourites and alerts as well.
I'm just posting a A/N letting them know about this site, and then they can delete it all they want.

Eskimo, I just read that review you got, and I totally agree with you. The "Use common sense kid, or learn it in your case." part was totally uncalled for. Seriously, they act as if we don't know that we are breaking the law. Don't let it get to you. Thankfully, you've already got a new home here, right? What really bothers me about that review is this part: "I will report it and the admins will delete it without warning." Does this mean that they've got some kind of 'licence' from the admins, or how do they know that the admins will delete the story without warning? Or do they simply rely on that fact and misuse the system for their own purposes (having learned that the admins never bother t owarn people off)? |

I think the best course of action is to screenshot the review, backup your story, and maybe post it on an alternate site, just in case. While you may not get as many views, I've found the more relaxed feeling of HPFFA is much better than FF.net, where I'm always nervous some asshole is going to get my story deleted because he didn't like it.

I'm actually surprised they get away with being this impolite. I mean, doesn't that go against their own etiquette-guidelines???
It says there: "Respect your fellow members and lend a helping a hand when they need it. Like many things, the path to becoming a better writer is often a two way street." But getting notices like that, certainly isn't helping you become a betetr writer. It's just affronting people and (maybe even) turning them away from writing fanfiction at all!

See, on a good site, that review can be reported as bullying. The sad fact is, on FF, we can't report it.
And what do they think they are? They act like they're so mature leaving flames like that, but isn't it just petty bull-shit? Just report e story and be on your way!

Good point. Why not just click the "report"-button and be done with it? Why actually go to the length and taunt the author about it?
Or do they actually operate under the idea that someone (anyone) would change their story so much to take all the quoted parts out???
That seems awefully naive of them then...

Guys, you've all cheered me up I would never have met such lovely, sweet and psychopathic people if it wasnt for this site, and I enjoy it here more anyway. Its just a bit upsetting how they get away with it and think its okay to insult people while taking something theyve worked on for so long. I laughed so much at the "groinsaws and kicking the fuck out of planets" posts that I knocked my iPad off the desk. Not good times. D: |

As I said before, they are nothing but rude bullies - it's really ironic that they act as if they'd be on a morally high horse when the are in truth more like Malfoy and his cronies. The saddest part is that FFN is allowing these people free rein, while deleting the stories they are targeting. It's really not showing FFN in a good light at all.
Oh well, at least we have this site now, which is more fun anyway - I am sure that's not what these idiots had planned when they started harrassing authors ;D

Its taken me about 20 hours to write the latest chapter, I'm really annoyed that I'm not going to be able to put it up on fanfiction.net because I still have a few pages left and the fic will probably be deleted by then.
