That would be a lot of work, but with flagfic or something alike, it's possible, as you don't have to sav each chapter separately.
Yeah, the rules were ignored for ten years, and now they leave it up to others to enforce them, basically. That's what annoys me with them - it shows how much they actually care for their own site. Looks like they are too complacent, knowing they will be hard to be replaced if people leave, so they count on people staying despite everything.
When I checked for Anne Rice, I had actually go to Publish after logging in, because I couldn't find the names in the easily accessible ToS. Stupid. People look there first, don't see these rules and then go and post ...
Plus, I'd appreciate it if they told us about that sort of action on the homepage, not only about these supposed improvements that annoy the heck out of me.

It's to bad we can't just delete their forum and the accounts of the bullies.

They'd probably just start new ones. Though, it might be a nice experience for them to be stalked the way they do it with some fanfic authors ...

That would be awsome if someone stalked them and kept deleting their accounts. That would make my day:)

I dont think they will stop even if ff.net is taken down... there are other sites for them to bully... these bullies are not people who knows where to draw the line. but i would surely pay to see their faces when they have nothing left to bully...

You know CU can get in trouble if they're making false copyright claims.

They aren't the type to jump ship they're to fanatical to give up and leave ffn no matter how many times they are deleted. But it would be great to see their reaction.

i had a random thought last night, then i realised that it just couldn't be possible. there's an awful lot of RTB fics still on FF, awfully written RTB's. that's when it hit me, what if the CU members were actually those crap writers? randomly trying to get us banned so that people would feel the need to flock to their stories? compeition etc..
my brain certainly thinks of the most random things hehe..

they are just a bunch of jumped up Percys willing to sell out their families and unwilling to face their wrongs.

I like the Percy comparison ;D Miss Wings the're so egotistical they would think any story written by them was award winning material

Yeah, their stories would win the literature nobel prize hands down

Post by Miss Wings on Aug 20, 2012 11:52:23 GMT -5
maybe it IS them then

Of course Kitty, and if for some reason they didn't win they would harass the winner til they turned over the prize

The worse part is you know that if we went onto their stories and did to them what they've done to others we would be removed immediately.

aye, especially if you just complained about their spelling..

Or their language ... from what I know, some of their so-called reviews were rather rude. But rules are only for us poor lesser mortals.

like this: Hairry Potter was da boy whose lived. Hee was a wiseard who kild da Lord Voldemrot.. The annoying thing is, they'd probably get hundreds of reviews just saying, update now, or love it, and only one or two criticising them.

yup, god i hate those update now people..

I'm sorry but if you can't at least write a clear sentence with correct grammar and spelling then you have no business commenting on any ones work.
As for the "update now" people they need to learn some manners. I know a writer who deliberately waits longer to post if someone reviews with that.

hell i don't even comment on peoples stories for fear of getting the situation wrong.

I know, I hate doing it as well. I usually wait until the story is complete and then just say how much I've enjoyed reading it.
I looked on the reviews for one story and someone had read it from beginning to end in one sitting and every chapter reviewed with "love what you've done so far", for twenty chapters straight. Talk about unhelpful, not only was the story 2 years old so they were pretty redundant at that point but for every chapter is just ridiculous.

eugh i'd hate that. i'd do the same as you. read beginning to end and then review with little peices of advice. if there's a story that i see and wish to read then i'd normally read the last chapter to see how it is before going back to the beginning..

I do that with books as well. I can't help it, I really don't want to spend hours reading a story only to be left with a crappy ending. Preferably a happy one.
The HP books are the only ones I've never done that with. But then I did devour them in about a day and half so there wasn't much of a wait for the endings.

Yeah, who knows maybe these people are annoyed at the "I live it, update soon" people and want to show how a review should be, but they don't know either?

You know CU can get in trouble if they're making false copyright claims. How? I don't understand, you mean they will get into trouble for complaining or because they are a member of the site as well?
