I think one of the main things we need to do if we change sites is to make the title as ambiguous as possible. We PM everyone with the link and it doesn't get posted anywhere else, we need to work in secret. Between people advertising where this site is and the obvious address we didn't stand a chance.

The problem with working in secret is that new people can't join in, despite how good an idea it is.

I honestly think we're going around in circles a little bit here. How about we put it to a vote?

A vote sounds like the best idea, but I think we should wait a while. We don't want to rush into something and then regret it later after all.

I say we do a vote, also.

I don't want to rush anything, I just feel like we have a limited amount of options here, and people are suggesting the same things over I'm sure we'll come up with the right solution in the end, we're all fairly creative people after all

I really love rtb fics....I haven't written any of my own but would like to be informed if authors are moving to other sites, especially authors who are in the mddle of a series (ex. Titansrule). Please add me to the list of pm please! I was really sad to see the name of this thread

We do only have so many options, I am just saying it is best to keep them open for now, in case our first choice doesn't work out. But your right Eskimo, we are creative people andI am sure a proper or at least workable solution will be forth coming

So is the whole board being deleted or will the general threads still be up? I would hate to have this site gone since I have met people who enjoy the same things as I do.

I believe the generals will still be left up, although I am not 100% certain so don't quote me on that

Merlin I hope the generals will stay up. It would be so disappointing if the whole board disappeared.

I hope the generals stay up too. It is hard to find a place on the web where you and everyone else have so much in common, but here I feel like I fit right in, and if all of this is taken away I won't have that anymore

I don't write fanfiction stories (I have some ideas but am not a great writer) but I like reading stories so if you set up an email list or a pm list let me know

I am sure if an email or pm list gets set up, that if this forum is still in existance, there will be a thread put up informing everyone.

I like these sort of stories and it is annoying me that every site I read them on this is happening to. I think that if there is people reporting these stories that they ate stuid because while j.k.rowlings work is in the stories they are made different by the authors of each fan fiction and surely the point of fanfiction is having the general story but changed to each authors ideas. I understand that they say they stop the reading the books stories because people could just read the books free online but the way I see. It is they are not the original books they have been changed and if someone hasn't read Harry Potter and chooses to read them on here then they are in the wrong, majority of people who go on fanfiction websites already love the 'main thing' first and want to keep the stories alive in different ways while still respecting and retreading the originals If the stories are deleted from here I would love the chance to read the stories still and hope there is a way

The General boards ARE going to stay up. I've said it in most of my posts.
@kuma: People can feel free to delete their own topics, but only admins can delete entire forums, which is what I'm going to be doing.
I'm also not sure exactly when the 48 hours is up which is why I put up a deadline of noon tomorrow, CDT which is roughly 24 hours after Point told us about this.

But I am sorry to say we will never be able to convince them as such, so we are resigned to dealing with the pettiness of others. And I have the feeling that even if we don't put the whole book, and only vignettes of it, we will still eventually be put under attack for that. I see hardly any way around it now.

I have no friends here. :-( I never written a story yet, I'm planning it out, though I don't think anyone would read it, it has no canon characters in it until the seventh year.

I think a mail list will get set up and the general forums from this site will be staying up, so there will be ways to alert you.

There is that, but the only problem is that they won't allow the entirety of the book there. Though, at this rate, taking a paragraph or two out every so often might not be that bad, if we can keep writing.

One possible site to go to is fanfictionstop.com/index.php but I'm unsure if RtB's can be placed here, as no rules state this on their rule page. This following person Slytherinsalltheway (on ff.net), he's/she's done the first two books, and he's/she's missed out paragraphs in the books. He/she always stated this when they have done this and also stated that the characters have read the chapters, but decided not to comment on them. I actually reposted by story on ff.net in middle of June, and so far it hasn't been deleted yet (crossing my fingers), but haven't updated the story. Some of RtBs are still being updated on ff.net, but the amount going on the site is actually very low now. Edit: Please copy me in on any emails/PM's you might set up. Thanks.

Are you just deleting the boards or are you deleting the threads then the boards? If the latter then just do the first one as deleting a board also deletes the threads within. or You can delete the Category and that will remove the boards and threads.
