Definitely one of my favorite types of HP fic to read and I was wondering what everyone else's opinions were...
Personally, I love when Sirius and Remus rescue an abused, teenaged Harry from the Dursleys but I don't like it to get too angsty or oh-everything's-perfect-now too fast.
What about you guys? Love it? Hate it? What era do you like to read of it (child Harry, Hogwarts years, adult, etc) and who are your favorite authors? Mine is definitely ObsidianEmbrace on ff dot net.

My preference is for either adult Harry reading after the war, revealing to various people the history of it, or for Harry to travel back in time to his fifth year to read with Hogwarts, though I haven't seen many of either of these types around.
I cannot stand any story that features Harry cowering, turning pale in fear or bursting into tears at the slightest thing, so one of my favourite stories that I found on ffnet, was tarten-angel's Reading and Revelations series, which I have copied and pasted to keep safe, and I don't know whether those stories have been deleted or not because I haven't actually checked them recently.

I love these three bonding, and Harry coming to live with Sirius, too. Though, like Squid, I prefer a non-whiny Harry.
