"That's great," said Arthur sarcastically. Then he turned to Timmy, "I'll see if I can get a friend of mine down there to get us into a private cellar, it'll be smaller, but you won't have to put up with the other wolves. They can get hostile sometimes."

"Whatever works for you, Arthur." Timmy said brightly. "I'm fine with anything right now." And that was true. Nothing could ruin his mood right now.

"That's great," said Arthur with a smile. He'd have to give Patty an extra hour, but it would be worth it. He'd never been so excited to transform before.

Joshua smiled slightly by Arthur's annoyed being. He dropped the smile though straight away. Arthur didn't need to know how amused he was. "Good idea," he put in. "Timmy doesn't need to be with those who're hostile."

Arthur sighed, angry that he could agree with Joshua. "Yeah," said Arthur in agreement, pushing his soup around, "It's more fun anyways with people you know."

"I suppose it is," Joshua shrugged. It had been years since he had been in a shelter, and the memories from there were hazy.

In a way, it almost felt like this big, adult party, the kind his parents never let him go to. It was something new and exciting, and everyone didn't seem to mind that he was much younger than them. And none of those "pure blood politics" to muddy things up.
His mood soured a little, as he was reminded of the last event he had been to. It had been a gala of sorts, one that even the children were made to attend. It was long, drawn out and boring. Worst of all, he had been stuck talking to Brayden Rosebane - a bigoted, distant family member. He scowled in disgust. He hated anything to do with Rosebanes, including the werewolf laws that Maxwell apparently made. He found himself lost in thought, remembering that hateful man and how much he loathed him.
His inner wolf howled for Rosebane's blood.

"Something on your mind, Timmy?" asked Arthur, noticing he'd stopped bouncing and hadn't spoken up in a while.

Timmy balled his fists, his arms trembling in rage. Because of Rosebane, everything in his life had gone to hell! It wasn't the first time he blamed the foul man, but gaining the friendship and support he had from these three, Timmy was starting to understand just how horrible his existence had been. Scrimping and saving and scrounging! Working like a pathetic little yes boy for people who would hate him, had they known the truth! Being separated from his family! The injustice of it all had been nagging at him since a big deal was made about his hole.
"Is it bad to wish someone dead?" he asked, with a twinge of anger to his tone.

"No, not really," said Arthur, wondering what had suddenly gotten into Timmy as he met his eyes, "Who's the unlucky fellow, not me I hope?

"Maxwell Rosebane." Timmy growled, or was it the wolf? "Do you know who he is?"

Joshua turned his head sharply to Timmy. Maxwell Rosebane! How in the world had Timmy chose him to hate. Of course he was a Lovegood, but still. "You want Maxwell Rosebane dead?" he asked carefully. "Why?"

"He's the one who turned my parents against me." He replied bitterly. Gone for the moment was his love for the world and his positive outlook. All he wanted was to rage against the unfairness of everything. "He's the reason for every bad thing that's ever happened to me." he looked up at Joshua, as he allowed the spike of hatred to consume him. "The last time I heard them speak, my parents and Rosebane were discussing laws that he had made! He ruined everything!"

Joshua watched Timmy carefully. He knew the werewolves' view at Maxwell, and honestly he didn't blame them. Maxwell had done a lot of cruel things to the race. That he had managed to turn parents toward their child, didn't surprise Joshua. Maxwell was gifted, and his charisma was one of them.
"That's okay," he said and sighed. "To wish Maxwell... Rosebane dead is alright," he said and winced of his blunder by not adding Rosebane's name, but he had said it quickly. "Many of us wish him dead," he said, without including himself in the group, but hoped they didn't notice it.

Arthur listened curiously to the conversation. He had no idea who this Rosebane guy was, but he vaguely remembered meeting him at old family picnics many years ago. He had heard the Rosebane name tossed around in werewolf circles as some kind of criminal, but he'd never understood why or who Rosebane was. He immediately disliked him, however, upon hearing Timmy's story.
"Well, Rosebane's not worth your time, and neither are your parents if they let themselves be so easily swayed," said Arthur, stabbing his spoon into the bowl at the memory of his own parents. They hadn't needed any convincing to get rid of him. "So feel free to wish him dead. He's dung on your shoes Timmy, and he doesn't deserve to know someone as great as you."

Timmy sighed. "I guess you're right." he mumbled, feeling the wolf subside once more. "Sorry for getting so angry. I just..." he shook his head, not sure how to voice the feelings in his heart. "Why do people care so much about what we are? We've never done anything to them."

Joshua sighed. "Listen kiddo. They hate us, for some of the wolves give us a bad name. Then they do it generally to us all, but that's stupid. We don't hate the humans, just because one person does something," he explained carefully, no need to tell what exactly a some werewolves had done toward people.

"And some people only care for that perfect family image," said Arthur hatefully, "So much so that they'd rather hide the blemish of a werewolf in the family then deal with it. God, I hate purebloods."

Timmy winced. "I'm starting to hate them, too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still think there is a good world out there. It's just...I got thinking about the bad things. I try not to, but there's so much of it." He took a deep breath and calmed himself. "But, at least we're together now, right?"

Joshua sighed. "Timmy," he said seriously. "You're a good kid. Don't let bitterness eat you up. There's a few humans who're to blame for this. But not everyone is like this. There's good people there who care for us. Some just get to prejudiced, because that's what the society tells them to do."

"Yeah, we're together now," said Arthur with a smile, "We're our own family, who needs blood?"
Then he turned to Joshua, "What good people? As far as I've seen, they'd rather let our kind rot, or use us to their advantage."

Joshua looked sharply at Arthur. "If you hate them, then you're just as bad as them. My friends turned their backs on me, but that doesn't mean that I think they're all disgusting bastards," he said. All right, it was him who had run away before they realized it, but they would have turned their backs on him, he knew it. "And I have known a few people who cared for me genuinely, and didn't wish me to rot."

"Lucky you then," said Arthur moodily, "All I've seen is people either casting you aside despite being blood, or using you for their own means. You'd think the Madden family could withstand a few bad rumors, being best friends with the minister, but no, their son isn't up to their standards, and if they can't care, why should anyone else?"

Joshua frowned. The Madden family sound familiar, although he couldn't come in thought about anyone.
"My family wouldn't have cared either. They don't. But I've seen a few people," he said. He had been in love with a human girl, right after he had gotten turned, and they had been together, until she got married with another man. Only said she was sorry, but it was for her family. "You've just not met them yet, or you're prejudiced toward them, that they have to be against you."

Arthur didn't know what to say to that. He doubted he'd ever find people who weren't prejudiced towards him that weren't in a similar experience, but he couldn't see why it mattered. "Whatever old man," he said finally, "You've seen a different world, how do you know it wasn't the money that sweetened their tongues anyways?"

He rolled with his eyes. The trouble with Arthur was was always the money. "The most of them didn't know I had money," he shrugged. The reactions were always different wether they owned money or not.

Arthur didn't say anything. He didn't believe it anyways. His parents were proof that money always mattered, and then in his own experiences, he'd learned quickly that money talked. "Well," he said finally, "I suppose you were lucky then."

"Well, everyone has different experiences," he shrugged. He looked at Timmy. The point was clear. Don't let Timmy get too prejudiced toward the humans.

"Look, guys, I'm sorry for bringing it up." Timmy said, feeling as though another fight would be on its way. "I'll try not to be too bitter." he said to Joshua. "Besides, Arthur is right. We're a family of our own, aren't we?"

"Don't be sorry for bringing it up," Joshua said with a smile. It was always good to point some pointers out to Arthur. And he could think about who the Madden's were. "Of course you are," he said lightly.
