Lillia nodded at her father, pleased that nobody had commented on her jumping this time.
"Of course, father. Hello, Alex." she said, giving her brother a little smile as he sat down.

Alexander nodded and gave a soft smile to his sisters. He noticed Denise was there too. How funny to imagine that it was only Jacob who was married, when he had three sisters...
"I was out with some Knights. One of my servants, whom I instructed to get me, if anything happened here, came. He told me that Florence was gone, and Tubridys were involved, but didn't know anything more than that. What happened? I heard a rumor on the way, that the Tubridys are traitors. Did they kidnap Florence?" Questions came out of Alexanders mouth, as he took a seat.

James is face hardened at the questions. He sighed, and rubbed his forehead as the explanation came from his mouth. "I fought with her, told her to stay in her room. Than I met Thomas, and told him he could see her. He kidnapped her then. He was a wizard, and must have been upset at my plans to move against his kind. They vanished into thin air before I could stop them. I put her into that situation, and now- God help her." He didn't say anything, but he looked far older than he really was, and his eyes betrayed his grief as he went silent.

"We'll find her." Lillia said quietly. "We have the entire country looking for her, and arrest warrants on the Tubridys. With the witch hunters as well..." she trailed off, more trying to convince her father than actually believing it herself.

Alexander sighed. "You sent her to her room, and let Thomas see her?" he demanded. It seemed for a few seconds like he blamed his father for it. "Well, wizards and witches are ruthless and great to hide themselves. I can't believe Thomas managed it. Do you think it was his intentions to kidnap Florence? Why not you? Didn't he have several opportunities to kill you?"
Alexander had never been afraid for asking questions, and now they were jumbling out of his mouth, as if his father could answer them. He glanced softly toward Lillia. He doubted it. He had seen Florence and Thomas. They were in love with each other, and it wouldn't have been difficult for Thomas to get Florence out of the castle. She had probably no idea that she had been kidnapped.

Lillia frowned. It was true, Thomas could have targeted anybody in the family. He could have waited a week until the wedding and just attack them all then, but he hadn't. Why?

James frowned at that line of questioning. It was a possibility he hadn't considered. Could Florence have willingly left her family for the wizard? She had shown disgust with the idea of tracking down and eliminating the magical threat, but, family came before everything. Florence wouldn't have left them behind, would she? No, Thomas had to have kidnapped her. After all, he had given Florence's hand to the man. He must have gotten nervous that if he didn't take her-
"I'm not sure. It's possible he was afraid I would annull their marriage if it was discovered he was a wizard. Perchance he panicked. Or mayhaps he thinks that he shall gain favor. I do not know how they think," said James, a quiet anger in his voice as he spoke. "I will have her brought home."

Lillia nodded along with her fathers words.
"She wouldn't have left us willingly, I'm sure." She said quietly, more to herself than the others. Could Florence willingly have left her? Surely she wouldn't have. She found herself welling up, and tried to pull herself together quickly. Crying was for when you were alone. If her father could be strong, she could too.

Jacobson shook his head forcefully, "Never, Florence would never abandon us like that! If she went of her own accord, she was under a spell that the wizard placed upon her." He looked downright furious at the thought to a wizard using magic on his sister- they would pay. Preferably, by the blade of his sword. He turned to his father and agreed,
"And anyone who harmed a singer hair on her head will be punished!"
--
Aelesia was astounded by the idea that Florence would have left willingly. She was certain it was not true, and she nodded her agreement to Lilia and Jacobson's words. Glancing around at her families reactions, she saw Lilia looked particularly distressed and as if she was on the verge of tears. Hoping to be of comfort, Aelesia gently patted Lilia's hand and gave her little sister a small smile.

Lillia felt slightly comforted by the fact that both her father and brother believed that Florence would not have left willingly. Her sister patted her hand, and she gave her a slightly wobbly smile. Her sister had always been good at making her feel better during the hardest of times.

James sighed as he nodded. His eyes went over all his children, and he seemed to think for a moment. He turned to his so s, and with a serious nod, said, "The Training Academy will be opened soon. I was hoping you two would attend with me to open the academy. Lord Byron has kindly invited us all to attend the opening ceremony and to see the world. As well, I think we should be there to see which Lords have sent their children to pledge allegiance to us. It would be a day or two, and if either of you would like, you may stay there longer. Ladies, please, you are welcome to attend as well, though the event will be primarily male-dominated."

"I think I would enjoy it." Lillia smiled. "It will be interesting, seeing everyone who came." She could just imagine everything she'd learn being at the academy for a few days- it would be a good opportunity for her. And she had to do something, she couldn't just sit in the castle.

Jacobson nodded, "Of course I will attend, father. Wouldn't miss it for the world." He turned and gave his wife a small smile, "I'm sure Denise and the children would enjoy watching the proceedings."
Along with her brother, Aelesia also bobbed her head up and down. Vaguely, she felt disappointed. In a different body, she would have joined the Academy herself and fought for her family... But she would have to do with simply observing. "I would also like to attend." She said, a thoughtful look on her face.

"Excellent, that's decided then," said James with a nod, "We shall all head to The Training Academy together. If you will excuse me, then, I shall leave to see that the Royal Guard is armed and staffed to accompany us to the Academy."

James smiled, but before he could reply, there was a knock at the door. He called out, "Come in!"
From outside the door, a young man pushed it open and entered. Erik had rode back from the bumpkin village not long ago to deliver the report as soon as possible. However, before he could rest, all the guards were given a thorough dressing down about the princess's kidnapping. He'd been upset himself, and had spent the last several hours consoling his mother rather than sleeping. Johanna was heartbroken, to say the least. By the time Erik was sure she'd be alright, he'd been called back on duty. Now, he'd been awake for an entire twenty-four hours. His eyes were bloodshot and dark circles formed under them. His uniform was crisp, and his hair slightly mussed.
"Perfect timing! May I ask which of my family you're here to collect?" asked James with a smile, not noticing Erik's weariness from the distance they were at.
"I've been assigned by my commander to be the personal guard of Lady Lillia," he said in a clear voice, "I believe you wanted her collected first, your Majesty. The guards shall follow for Lady Denise and Lady Aelesia, as well as Sir Jacobson's children."
"Excellent. Lillia, if you so wish, you may leave now," said James, though his tone suggested it was a command rather than a suggestion, "The things your siblings and I have to discuss may bore you. Aelesia and Denise can leave when their guards arrive if they so wish."

Lillia frowned at her father, but stood. She was in no doubt that her father wanted her to leave, but it annoyed her that her father seems to be leaving her out of the conversation as if she was too young or stupid to understand. She thought they had got past that by now, but it seemed not. She also didnt particularly enjoy the idea of having a guard following her around all day, but she supposed after the recent events, that was to be expected. But the fact that her father wanted her collected first...that annoyed her.
"Father." she said quietly, before turning to her siblings. "I'll see you all at the acadamy."
With that, she walked quickly from the room.

Erik bowed deeply to the King and the Prince and Princesses. Then he turned on his heel and followed Lillia out of the room. He stayed a step behind her, his eyes following the corridors and his hand kept itself on his sword.
"Shall we head to your rooms, Lady Lillia?" He asked politely. Inwardly, he hoped she'd choose someplace quiet. He was far too tired and irritable to deal with morons.

"I suppose it has," said Erik with a nod, "I'm sorry for your loss. Had I been there, I would have done everything to protect Lady Florence. Is there anything else you shall be requiring for the night?"
As he said this, they turned the hall to head to Lillia's room. A few guards saw Erik, and called out greetings after bowing to Lady Lillia respectfully.
"You's still up?" Slurred one guard, who was heading off duty and had grabbed a drink with his friend, "Some kind of oddit-ity-ity that one is!"
Erik shrugged it off, and ignored them.

"Thank you." Lillia said quietly, looking at the ground. "But I should be fine."
As they turned the quarter, they began seeing more and more guards, some of whom seemed to know her guard. She smiled politely at all of them, but it was with some relief that she finally reached the door of her quarters.

Erik moved and opened the door for Lillia. He quickly inspected the rooms, and was relieved to see they were empty. The maids had left Lillia some tea before bed, as well as her night gown.
"Shall I call a maid to help you get ready for bed, milady?" He asked, as he nodded that she could enter.

"Yes please." Lillia nodded, moving towards the windows. "I didn't realise it was so late already. I must have been with my father for a while."
She glanced out into the grounds, noticing the different places where she and her lost sister would talk together, play together. She wished her sister was still here...
Shaking the thought from her head, she turned her back resolutely to the window, looking for a distraction.
"I never asked your name." she said, frowning at the guard by the door.

Aelesia and Jacobson watched their little sister leave, Aelesia felt a bit empathetic toward her for being kicked out- she remembered being treated as such when she were younger. However, she felt it was necessary. Jacobson merely thought it was great that Lilia would be given proper protection- along with his wife and children... He glanced at Denise and his eyes hardened at the thought of anyone harming her or his children.... if they did, they would have hell to pay.
"Father," Jacobson began, "What else have you been wishing to discuss?"

Shaking the thought from her head, she turned her back resolutely to the window, looking for a distraction. "I never asked your name." she said, frowning at the guard by the door. Erik glanced at the princess in surprise. He'd assumed she'd have just gone to bed. He nodded, and replied, "Erik Mumsen, your highness." He didn't bother to add his title of Colonel, since the insignia was clearly stitched into his grey uniform. Besides, the title didn't matter now that he was given a special mission. Neither did he add that his mother was Johanna. Erik was never a man to use his mother's position as Head Chamber maid, and before that, until Lillia was eleven, Nanny, to gain any sort of clout anywhere. His own achievements would make his position rise. One day, it would be so that his achievements would outshine his mother's old titles, and he'd be able to provide her a cozy retirement. One day. ---------------------------------- James shuffled backwards, and sighed. He moved to his shelves, and pulled out a bottle of fine wine. He saved it specially for conversations of a tenser nature. He glanced at his children, and frowned a bit. He had hoped that Aelesia's and Denise's guards would arrive earlier, but it was no matter. He only hoped that their womanly hearts would handle his decision well. "With Florence's kidnap, I've had little time to think, and far too much advice being thrown at me," said James with a sigh as he set goblets for the men and women on the table. He left the bottle on the table, knowing his children would serve themselves as they pleased, and that the only person he was responsible to watch was Aelesia. "I want to further the process of witch-eliminations," said James quietly. "This was a private discovery much earlier that I've been meaning to keep on the private side, however, decisions need to be made quickly. That's why- I hope you understand when I say, there is a living witch in this castle at the moment."

Lillia smiled, and gave a little curtesy. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Erik."
She knew she had heard the name somewhere before, and vowed to try and remember later where she had. Looking back at Erik, she noticed just how tired he looked.
"When was the last time you slept?" she frowned.

All three of those present, Jacobson, Aelesia and Denise, showed great surprise. Denise's eyes showed concern as she glanced toward the door. Her children were her first priority. Jacobson seemed to have a similar train of thought as his eyes flitted toward the ceiling, as the children were several floors above.
"Magic? Being practiced within these very walls?" His anger was not well hidden, "If the identity of this witch known? We cannot allow it to continue!"

Looking back at Erik, she noticed just how tired he looked. "When was the last time you slept?" she frowned. "Not long ago, milady. Don't trouble yourself," said Erik with an attempt at a comforting smile. It looked more like a twisted grimace of sorts. He glanced around the room, mentally securing it's borders, as he asked, "What shall I help you with then?" ---------------------- "She's not practicing, the guards snapped her wand," said James with little concern, though he too glanced at the doors. If it wasn't for the fact that Lillia had a guard, and that the news would be too shocking for her, he'd have had her stay near. "However, that's the problem. Initially the plan was for her to be made an example of, however, I fear that may incite more revenge. They kidnapped Florence just because of the bill I issued- I can't lose more of my children," said James firmly. "But this is an opportunity for us. We have a live witch within these walls. I- I wanted some advice, what do you consider we should do?"

"She should be given the treatment of every witch.... Wand or not, a witch is dangerous!" Then his eyebrows furrowed, he did not wish to cause more rage from magical kind and endanger his family.... "We cannot show weakness in fear of being attacked- it will show the magical kind that we can be threatened into submission."
Denise seemed a bit unsettled, she did not like the idea of anyone being killed- however, she certainly understood the need. Aelesia was not quite as uneased- on the contrary, she seemed to look forward to purging the castle and keeping her family safe.
