"So, when was the last time you guys played in a park?" asked Alison casually, trying to grasp the girls situation better as they moved to the large, curvy red slides.

Abigail shrugged, "Willow plays whenever we stay in park for the night... So I guess a few days ago. I don't play as much, but I keep her entertained."

"Right," said Alison, swallowing back her worry as they neared the slide, where a young boy was playing already. He looked about Willow's age, "So, then when do you play?"

"Me?" Abigail asked, a bit surprised. "I play when Willow wants me to." At the moment, Willow didn't seem to particularly want Abigail- instead, Willow went up to the other boy and said happily, "Hello!"

"Hiya," said the other boy, grinning back at the little girl. He had dark eyes, and dark hair. His face was round, and he was beginning to climb the step to get on the slide. Dressed in a baggy t-shirt with blue shorts, he held an air of mischief, "I'm Tommy. Who are you?"
Alison glanced down at Abigail, and frowned. Eight year olds should play, right? That's what normal kids did. "Alright then," said Abigal with a nod, "Let's play something you want to play, Willow's making a friend anyways."

Willow put her thumb in her mouth and replied around it. "Wiwwo."
Abigail blinked, she wasn't supposed to play. She was a grown-up, and grown-up's didn't play. "I don't want to play." She replied defensively.

Tommy glanced down at Willow, "Only babies suck tumbs, tat's what 'Obby told me."
Alison covered her smile with a false cough, and moved to the swings, that weren't too far away from Willow so she could watch her, "Alright, then I guess you can stand here and I'll play."

Willow looked down at her thumb, as she sucked it. " 'Obby no fwun. Tum taste 'ood."
Nodding in her approval, Abigail folded her arms as she watched Alison. Abigail glanced at the swings- they did look fun, but Abigail didn't play because she was a grown-up.

Tommy scowled in agreement, " 'Obby's neva fun. He neva wants to play. He's s'posed to watch me, but he neva does. Tat's why I watch myse'f!"
Alison swung herself slowly, building up a pace as she called out to Abigail, "A swing's still open Abbie! Hurry before someone else sits down!" Alison began to swing a bit higher now, glancing up at the sky and then back to Alison as she moved.

Willow looked up and pointed toward Abbie. "Abbie is Sista." The the little girl followed after Tommy up the slide. "My mummy liked to hug me at night too. Does your mummy read to stories?" Willow didn't remember, but she knew that Abbie said that every night Mummy had given Willow a big hug and gave her a bed time story. She wondered if other Mummy's did that too.

Tommy turned curiously to Willow, and stared as though she was the most fascinating thing he'd ever met. The little boy scrunched his face up thoughtfully, as he considered the idea. "I neva took cay of nobody ess befo. 'Kay, less cay fo each otha. Do you know how to say stowies?" he asked hopefully. Nobody had ever told him a story before.

Willow hesitated, she'd never told a story to nobody before. But Abbie had said a good story last night, and Willow could remember. So, Willow smiled and proceeded to try and copy exactly what Abbie had done. "One on a time, dere was a pretty girl, her name was Mary. But, she was being hunted by these mean people who wanted to 'teal her magic. Mary had to wun away and leave her Mumma and Daddy and take care of herself too. She was all scared and awone, so an angel came down to be with Mary and keep 'er safe." Then Willow had to scrunch up her nose to remember how it finished. "And when Wiwwo or Tommy ever is scared and awone, an Angel comes to 'elp."
Upon finishing the rather short and simple story, Willow grinned broadly, proud of herself and for remember how Abbie had said it.

Tommy listened to the story with enthusiastic eyes. He nodded with Willow's words, but frowned when it was over. He scuffed his shoes, a little too big for him, and rather old and worn, as though they'd been used before by someone. "Why don't the Angel go to mummy?" he asked quietly, "Then she can come home mo and pway with me. I don'ts got anyone to pway with."

Confused, Willow found herself unable to answer. "I dunno... Wiwwo didn't get an angel eder." Glancing toward her sister, who had promised there would be an angel, Willow tried to come up with something. "Maybe it's wike a super hero, and invisble! It keeps you safe!"
