Boredom is a great anesthetic to numb the pain of reading it. Also, it could have been because I had a bout of insomnia before reading it. Either way, I want those three hours back damnit!!!

I showed one of my best friends My Immortal at a lunch break. He read the entire commentary version, turned to me the next day, and demanded back his childhood. I spent the entire day teasing him about goffik stuff and kept saying fangz. He stopped talking to me for a while

But Kuma, I think you summed up my feelings perfectly. The only regret I have with this site is that it distracts me from reality and writing.

But this place, it's like, a big warm family type feeling, and even if I tend to clash my views with someone else, I know that doesn't mean I'm going to get smited into hell, or be bashed. It's like a safe little corner of the internet where I can be a fan-girl and debate my favorite characters and know that even if I tend to disagree with someone, it won't end up a psychotic internet mess.

I think this place is the way it is because we left a disorganized mess like FFN. We learned what we didn't want in a site and went by it.

I read the first two chapters of My Immortal and I think I lost a couple of brain cells. I wonder how someone even thought that was worth publishing.

As for texting language, I rarely even use it when I text as I don't like it. And yes, I'd never read a fic written in texting.

I use text language when I text, not in an actual conversation and I don't get it when someone writes a story in it. I also can't stand it when they write in chat format, it drives me insane.

I've only read commentaries of My Immortal and all the while I was like......"what the......" What was that person thinking of when writing it?

My immortal...I want to say the same, but I have a feeling that was actually a story that someone wanted thought was great. It was too, seriously written and not offensive enough to seem fake.

Someone confessed to co-writing My Immortal as a troll, but no one knows how true this is, because other people mention that the name behind the fic has too much of presence other sites for this to be true.

I feel the same way about My Immortal which is why it makes me sick when I see someone writing a story that bashes it. Yes we all know it is terrible but that doesn't give people the right to purposely write stories that make fun of it. Frankly I see it as bullying. Think about how that author must feel seeing all of that. I know I would be crushed. Which is why for their sakes I hope it truly was someone writing badly on purpose just to get attention and not an author that tried their best and actually had the courage to post something.

I hope so. I've never actually read it myself just heard how notoriously bad it is and googled it to see what it was about (it actually has a wiki page) when I noticed the sudden surge of stories making fun of it.

Much like kuma, I kind of remember to have looked into it once years ago, and subsequently erased all memory of it from my mind. I am fairly certain that I did that for a reason, so - no clicking on the links.

I think that Jo Bekke in it's original form no longer exists on the internet, just comment versions. If I am wrong, I don't care.

But My Immortal is definitely still around, and actually was known so much as the worst fanfiction ever written, that there was an internet meme. I find this interesting, but not interesting enough to actually look at any of the videos and pics that resulted.
