I would love a fic were when Harry was told to go to the Dursleys by Hagrid after shopping someone stops him ( I prefer Bill cause he notices that Harry didn't meet with his account Manager or something to that extent) or he chooses not to go and instead he ends up going back to Gringotts. There he finds out he is filthy rich, his family history, his parents will, and that Dumbledore has been stealing from him. (anything else is up to you)
With some help he finds that over the years Hogwart's education have gone downhill. Potions and DADA have become a joke and since Dumbles became Headmaster classes have been systematically taken out.
Not only that he finds that since Hagrid and not himself or his guardian sent his acceptance letter he can be told at anytime that his education didn't count and be forced to start over.(like he gets to his seventh year and be told he has to start over and somehow Hogwarts would be the only one to be able to accept a latecomer. Dumbles does this to ensure his control of Harry)
So he uses his other names ( like it could be James Evans Peverall which is totally legal cause that is part of his name) to register for a homeschool course that uses owl post and penseive memories. Make him were a mask of Gryffindor Harry to school, but he is a genius under his other persona. If you want you can let him take his OWLs early. His reasons can be act under dumble's control, to let everyone underestimate him to increase his chance of survival, or any reason you want.
Ron knows, but Hermione doesn't. Hermione either cause when Harry or Ron did better than her once she threw a fit or cause she's Dumbly's spy.(She could be related to dumbles). Though if it is the first option she is truly their friend and when she starts to mellow out they debate over telling her.
He is placed in Gryffindor is because he argued that putting him in Ravenclaw or Slytherin could endanger him.
REQUIRED:
The reason the car flew is because Dobby overheard them come up with a good solution so he somehow forced them into the car and flew it to get them expelled. They aren't believed when they tell the truth and recieve more detentions.
Like in first year when They tried to tell the teachers truth; when they try to tell the teachers were the chamber is they are brushed off before they can explain anything.
I prefer a Harry slash pairing typically with Bill a straight is find as long it's not Ginny or Hermione. (also no pairing him with an OC)
Harry can not have some kind of elemental powers or be a multianimagus. Really no superpower unless its to do with parseltongue or metamorphagus abilities.
OPTIONAL:
Ron joins the same classes with Harry under the name Bilius Prewitt or Ron Prewitt and only act like an idiot so others underestimate him.

Ron only looks at those classes he finds interesting and Harry helps him study, but he still acts the idiot.
If the stories are read after Ootp than Sirius death was faked to get away from dumbles.
