I've always loved those "Great Hall Reads the Truth" fics, and I'm always up for some Umbridge bashing, but not a lot of people have written these types yet... So that's my challenge.
Conditions : No "Time Travel" fics (like Lily, James or the Next Generation reading with them), and preferably have the plotline of Umbridge deciding to use the Room of Requirement (after she finds out the DA?)...
Maybe toward the end of book 5? You don't have to write books 6, 7, & 8, because that ruins the story; and it's kind of unrealistic... more unrealistic than the entire idea of RTB fics :D

I will accept this challenge, under three conditions:
1) I will not write Harry/Ginny. Nor will I write Harry/Hermione.
2) I'm allowed to write slash, femslash and hetero pairings as I see fit. The two pairings I know I'd use are Harry/Neville and Sirius/Remus.
3) I can alter the books when necessary.

I'm okay with 1 and 3... but I really don't like slash... if you can write it really well, I'll be okay with Sirius and Remus, but I'm not sure about Harry/Neville.. they're just, not that right.
Let me know if you still accept the challenge!

Alright, I'll drop both slash pairings, since you don't like it. Here are my suggestions. Pick the ones that interest you!  Neville/Luna (I love these two together, I really do! They're sweet and adorable) Neville/Hannah Harry/Cho, (since Harry and Cho are dating in OotP, I feel it might be interesting to see what would happen if their relationship survived). Harry/Luna, (I think this pairing can work, and have read a lot of it as of late) Remus/Charity, (I just feel that this could work, seeing as both deal with some kind of prejudice, plus it would be nice to flesh her out, seeing as we don't read much about her in the books.) Remus/Tonks Sirius/Aurora (I feel it would be nice to flesh her out, seeing as we don't read much about her in the books). Sirius/Nobody or Sirius/? If you don't want him with someone, that's fine. If you have an idea of who else he should be with, that's fine too. |

You have got to be the most agreeable person I've ever met... wow O.O I love Neville, and I'm okay with both parings. Neville/Luna (Luna's thoughts and Neville's reactions will be hilarious) Neville/Hannah (It would be interesting to see exactly how they got together) Harry Harry/Cho (I'm okay with this one too, since it makes Harry act all teenage boy-ish) Remus/Tonks (Enough said. I love these two) Sirius/Aurora (Give me a minut to research... Aurora... Ah! A professor! Go for it!). Thanks  |

Kumin: just as a warning, writing Umbridge may make you feel sick. This might be a slight exaggeration, but it certainly isn't pleasant to write her whatsoever.

If you want, Kumaninpink, you could borrow my phrase of calling Umbridge El Sapo instead of her given name. That should eliminate the queasiness.

Actuall, several people are in the midst of writing stories like that. There's "Their Adventures Made Known," "Harry Potter and the Presently Past Read the Books," although that one has Lily and James there in ghost form, and you (bkaddictjk) wouldn't like it, as it's a Harmony fic. Umbridge reading fics are quite popular on FanFiction.net.

That was not a story recommendation, but a story challenge - bkaddictjk wanted to read such a story and asked if anyone felt up to writing it. To my knowledge, it didn't happen, so I fear I have to disappoint you all. Sorry about that.
