I grew up on the original six movies and Star Trek: The Next generation. That and Power Rangers, Wrestling, and Soap Opera's had a huge effect on me growing up

I grew up with the original show - watching Kirk & Co on my parents small black & white telly... where you still had to turn a knob on the telly in order to switch channels... and it only got three channels at all. Recently, a channel here in Germany started airing all Star Trek shows again (including Voyager and DS9) and I occasionally look in on them - but somehow they don't really touch me anymore. I'm not sure why. It all seems so... naive. And innocent. And clean. Especially TNG and Voyager - all so goody-goody-good people, running around, and being all holier-than-thou. It's a bit tiresome... Which is very strange, because I occasionally run Star Trek RPG games that are lots of fun. But let's face it, most of the characters in those are far from "standard" Star Trek fare. I guess, TV-wise I'm more of a Stargate Fan these days. At least they travel to other galaxies... and occasionally blast up whole solar systems by accident.

I grew up with TNG, DSN & VOY, but I'm more of a Stargate fan myself now - apart from Universe. I found that I couldn't get into that series at all.

I think I was probably the only person who enjoyed Universe. Sure it was different than the other series, but I still liked it.

I love Star Trek, but not keen on the original series, except one episode, The Trouble with Tribbles. That is pretty much the only episode I like from that series. I prefer the later series, towards the end of TNG, DS9, VOY and a few from the last season of Enterprise. Other than that, I've never seen any Babylon-5, and love Stargate, though haven't really been able to get into Universe.

I love Star Trek, mainly TOS, TNG and DS9. I like Voyager too, but I've never seen Enterprise, so can't really give a judegment there.

TNG all the way, baby. I *still* want to climb Riker like he's a tree. *nodnod*. Damn that man is sexy.
And then of course, there's Worf. *snicker*.
And for a bald guy, Picard is ridiculously hot. Seriously. What the hell were they trying to do? Make everyone expire from hormone overload? Several hot guys, and then they put in Marina Sirtis and Gates McFadden. Guh. Let the drooling begin!

Even Data's hot, even though he's yellow, as is LaForge, and Wesley's just so cute I want to cuddle all night long.

With Enterprise, the first and fourth (last) series were really good, but it went downwards a bit during the second and third series (mainly due to the xindi story arc).

Having just re-watched the Star Trek 2009 reboot ... can I just say
IT IS AWESOME.
I will admit, when I first heard of that movie's potential existence, I was one of the people who was more or less throwing a temper-tantrum. Young Kirk, Spock, etc? Ack, No! Bad!
Given the hit-or-miss quality of the early movies, the utter drek that was Enterprise and *shudder* Nemesis, I don't think I can honestly be blamed for that. I had these horrifying visions of the whole thing being completely slaughtered by people who were at best mockeries of the original characters.
Then someone talked me into watching it ... and I was *blown away*. I mean, holy hell. There are multiple points in the movie where, for a minute, you forget that it ISN'T Shatner, Kelley, and company running around.
Also ... most epic 'oh crap' moment EVER. "FIRE EVERYTHING!"
And whatever you do, for GOD'S sake, do NOT malign Spock's mother in any way, shape, or form ... pain and humiliation will *swiftly* follow. Someone seriously needed to put a note to that effect in Spock's file because it happens *twice* (the kids, and the Council). Kirk at least was doing it because it was the only way to prove Spock had no business in the Captain's chair right then, and *knew* he was going to end up getting hurt.

I love the original six Star Trek movies, with my favorite being the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, a sequel to the TOS episode the Space Seed. I also like the Voyage home and Undiscovered County. My three favorite episodes from the original series has to be "The City on the Edge of Forever,Assignment: Earth, and The Menagerie"
I like any STTNG episodes that deals with the Borg or Q.

I'm more of a Kirk fan than Pikard, though both are excellent.
I wouldn't mind discovering the pleasure of Data! Lol

The guy (Simon Pegg) who played Scotty in Star Trek 2009, didn't cut it for me. I would have had Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis). Better Scottish accent for starters. Paul's actually Scottish Canadian. Born in Scotland but raised in Canada.

The point isn't to have a 'better' Scottish accent ... it's to have an accent as close to what the redoubtable James Doohan used as humanly possible, and in that I think they did fairly well ... his voice is definitely younger, but the accent's damn close.
