What do you think of them? Personally, I find them interesting. It's neat to see how things are looked at without magic, as it allows for certain things to be dealt with more realistically. Like child abuse, for instance.
And the extremely AU setting this would be in allows for characters to have alternate interpretations, which is always good to see.

I'm not particularly keen on non-magic fics.

The non-magic fics I read are from the LotR fandom, not HP. Can't remember reading one in HP ... or rather, I once started one, but it was abandoned pretty soon and later deleted.

The only non-magic fics I like are period stories, you know like they take place in the 1800's or earlier. There aren't many of them the few I've found seem to have been abandoned except two, one is complete but I wasn't really happy with the way it ended and one I'm reading now that has Harry in the role of Cinderella and Draco as 'Prince Charming'.

Really can't stand the non-magic fics for some reason. I'm also very weary of most AU fics that tilt the original plot up off its axis. It's like I cannot stand reading a AU high school fic for Naruto/Bleach because it takes you back to the cringe worthy drama that was high school. I also find them extremely boring because most non-magic stories follow the same basic plot.

I rather like the ones where Harry is hallucinating and in the loony bin for believing in magic

I had one going at one point, but I ended up losing my notes to it, and I wasn't updating it, so I ended up taking it down, where it'll stay until I can either find my notes, or make some new ones, and have time to work on it.

Never liked them, because most are in high school. I'm already in high school and deal with the freaking drama of it, why the hell would I want to read about more drama.
