I have to say that I am not the biggest Twilght fan but I do enjoy some of the fanfiction. I think the main reason I am meh about it is that Bella as a character seems a bit shallow. At times I thought that she had little to no personality throughout the books and I downright hated how she acted in Breaking Dawn. The fanfics that I have read for the series really flesh her out more then SM ever did. I also have read a few good OC stories where the character is not an automatic Mary-Sue and loved by all.

I've never read any of the Twilight books but I do like Twilight/Harry Potter crossovers, unfortunetely all the ones I like seem to always get abandoned or MAYBE one update a year.

I've never read any of the Twilight books but I do like Twilight/Harry Potter crossovers, unfortunetely all the ones I like seem to always get abandoned or MAYBE one update a year. The Twilight books always made me think that Bella was only obsessed with beauty and didn't really care about anything other than that. When BD was released I just read it to sate my curiosity over why this series was so popular and I left thinking how much I dispised vampire Bella. It was like SM just decided to give Bella a deux ex machina so that SM didn't need to write a battle scene at the end. Oh, and lets not forget that Bella has uber control over her bloodlust and Jasper who is 150+ years old is still struggling with human blood. I feel the same way about some of the Twilight/HP crossovers. It seems that right when they get good the author just stops and tells no one why. I have around 4-5 crossovers that have been abandoned with no news on why.

That seems to happen with 9 out of 10 crossovers and rare pairings.

I hate it when a crossover gets abandoned, no matter what fandom it's in. I love three stories NeoRyu777 wrote, A World of Difference, Worldy Secrets & Worldy Prisoners, but the third one had been left unfinished for nearly four years, and the author waited until March last year to let people know why.

That's why I've pretty much stopped reading crossovers. I only check them out any more when there is nothing else to read and I'm desperate.

I can understand if something like a tragedy or medical emergency happened to put you out of writing but when the excuse is writer's block or a fallout of a series you would think to at least give us an update?

Alright since that is out of my system lets get back to love/hate books. Can someone please tell me why Jane Erye is such a popular novel? I read the book my Junior year in high school and for the life of me thought it was OK and not spectacular.

LOVE Harry Potter (duh) A Song of Ice and Fire Morganville Vampire Series The Iron Fey Series Sunshine I am the Messenger A Girl of Fire and Thorns The Infernal Devices Hunger Games Series The Darkest Powers The Demonata Series The Private Series Wicked Lovely Series
I feel like I'm missing something....
HATE Twilight..I use to love it..Then I grew up. Evermore Series..I found the main character to be completely annoying and selfish by the time I got to the 3rd book.
I know I'm missing something in that Hate category, but I'm really not incredibly picky when it comes to books. The main character just can't be an ass.

Cody, no one underatands why the Bronte sisters got so popular. Or Jane Austen. Those who like to say it's a piece of fiction based on the times back then and how it's a statement piece seems to ignore the idea that it's just a cheesy romance fic set back then.

Oh god, I read the first book of Evermore and didn't even bother with the next one. It's a crappy book.
The Darren Shan series is pretty awesome (haven't read it in a few years though). The Sight and it's sequel Fell are a couple books I loved a few years ago too. There was one book about a newly evolved bat or something which was odd but not a bad read, I think it was called Dusk. I love Chinese Cinderella and it's sequel. I managed to read Inkheart and Inkspell but I just couldn't get into Inkdeath. The Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman is pretty awesome. Made me cry at some parts. I have only read up to Checkmate though.

Hate: Twilight...nuff said The Life of Pi, I heard this one was overly descriptive so the plot was lost.

I tried to read a Jane Austen when I was at school, and I just couldn't get into it at all. I thought the characters were boring, and there was nothing else in that book that I felt was worth my time.

I was never very keen on the Series Of Unfortunate Events. I struggled with the fourth book, tried to read it so many times but just couldn't.

I enjoy Jane Eyre, but I've never been able to get into Jane Austin. P&P and Emma are okay, but I found her stories to be both boring and too happy for the most part. Jane Eyre on the other hand, I felt was a lot more realistic and a lot more emotion in it.
Series of Unfortunate Events was okay, but I've only read the entire series once. I found it got a bit repetitive at points.

I read the first three books of Series of Unfortunate Events but I didn't read the others. It got too repetitive after a while. Do we really want to read thirteen books on how bad the orphans lives' were?

I enjoyed it, but the last book was the one that was the most unique, or so I thought. At any rate, it was a good ending for the series.

I read until the end of the series. It was messed up the end, and I'm still not sure entirely if I get it. Olaf wasn't a Snicket, right? At the end he gets all redeemed, but the orphans still aren't entirely happy. It was a moment of WTF?

I'll agree it was confusing. I don't remember too much as it's been about three/four years since I read it, but yeah Olaf wasn't related to them, but I did like it that they found out about their parents.

Books I Love/Like: The Argenaeu/Rogue Hunter series by Lyndsay Sands Twiight Series by Stephanie Meyer Sweep Series by Cate Tiernan Harry Potter Series (Mostly just books 1 - 4, but the others are okay) by J. K. Rowling The Mortal Instruments (Books 1 - 3) by Cassandra Clare Fallen by Lauren Kate Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick Cresendo by Becca Fitxpatrick Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier The Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews The Edge Series by Ilona Andrews Sex and the Single Vampire by Katie MacAlister The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander
Books I Hate/Dislike: Almost any book by Stephen King (It's the only book I can get past the first chapter of, and that's through sheer willpower) Almost any book by Anne Rice (Her vampire chronicles put me to sleep)
I know, I'm weird, you don't need to tell me this. I will say, though, that I suspect that the dislike for Stephen King is genetic.

HATE Lord of the Flies - William Golding Had to study this book for English and got so sick of it by the end of the year. Same here, other classes got to study the better book IMO. I find this book to be very unrealistic.
