It's overrated, IMO. Once they get CoS up, I'll definitely go back, but until then I'm not going to bother.
I'm sure that eventually once they get everything up and running, it'll be all good, but at this rate it'll be another decade or 2

I'm sure that eventually once they get everything up and running, it'll be all good, but at this rate it'll be another decade or 2 I agree. I got bored within a few days of getting an account. It was mildly interesting to get through the first book, and to learn about such details as McGonagall's past, but once that was done I got bored quickly. I can't even remember the last time I logged on now.

I got through the first book in like an hour and after that it was "Now what?" It might be better once they start on the longer books like OOTP or DH. I was thinking that it might be nicer if they could do it chapter by chapter instead of book by book.....it would make it more suspencefull, but in a shorter way.

I'm very excited for the other books, but I usually don't go back to it unless I want to duel. I loved getting my wand and finding out what house I belong in. It's fun!

I found all the items that could be found within the first few hours, then went back to find the new books in the library. I'll wait for CoS to come out as well. Otherwise, the layout is wonderful, it just takes too long to get CoS up and running. And I think that there's way too little additional information from JKR there. Mainly she told us what we already knew - with the exception of Minerva McGonagall.

The information about the wand woods and wand cores is what I loved the most, but you're right, a lot of it we already knew. I'm sure she has a lot more new stuff as the books progress.

It would be nice to actually see your wand do the spells instead of a stupid circle that you click twice. I also like the Potions, but you can only do so much before your Galleons run out.

There's also quite a bit of other info. For example, did you know Merlin was a Slytherin? That means that Merlin definitely happened less than a thousand years before the books, though they don't say when. But still, that's probably the most interesting thing I've learned from Pottermore

But still, that's probably the most interesting thing I've learned from Pottermore I don't remember seeing that, where is that? It's in the introduction to Slytherin; you don't see it unless you're sorted there, as I understand. from the wiki: "Slytherin students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry took special pride in Merlin — "the most famous wizard in history" — having been Sorted into their House. However, this fact is one that the other houses do not like to recognise."

I just signed up for pottermore a couple days ago and it really doesn't live up to the hype. It was exciting getting to shop in diagon alley, select a wand and being sorted. Those were the best things about pottermore, after that I just kind of zipped through the moments collecting everything I could find. That was fun but over too quickly and I stopped clicking on the characters, places, objects etc. as that was just tedious and a waste of time other than finding out McGonagall's history. I will go back when CoS comes out maybe they will have made some improvements.

I knew about Merlin being a Slytherin too. I'm a Slytherin myself after all. And I am one of the lucky ones to get into beta.

I joined a few months ago. After the initial excitement it just got boring. I was especially irritated by the way you have to cast spells, having to remember which keys in which order to type for each spell - especially when they are random letters from the name just frustrated me. All I really do now is make potions and such. I really hope they get to CoS quickly.

Same here. I got the beta and it was a lot of fun doing stuff for a few weeks, though it isn't much fun anymore, though challenging friends to duels can be fun, especially when they're RL friends.
I too am eagerly awaiting CoS, though in actuality, I really can't wait for DH to be released, though I know that's a long ways away.

It is nice, but it is annoying that I cannot find a couple of the cards, yet I have been through the thing a couple times looking for them...
Potions is cool if did not take ages to make, I did not mind the practice time of like 3 minutes but these Hours wait is annoying.
The spells I find disappointing I thought it would be wand waving not keyboard use... You know having to wave it in the certain pattern would have been better.

It definitely lost my love after a few weeks of constantly making the same potions over and over. I hate the duelling mehcanism, I'm rubbish at it. I can't wait for COS either but I've been waiting since I got into beta so I'm already kind of over it.
BTW you know that when you've used a potion ingredient you don't have to buy it if it's something you found in the moments right? It grows back once it's been used. Same as if you give something as a gift to someone. You can go back and fins another one.

The only thing keeping me on Pottermore is the new info that I can incorporate into my stories and the coming of CoS. Otherwise I would be gone.

I like the info she's added. I don't particularly care about where Vernon and Petunia met but Minerva's history was cool to know. I sometimes go to look at new fanart. And I check Insider every day for any updates. They say they're progressing with COS so I hope that's out soon.

First time I tried I was stuck in Diagon Alley before I gave up. That was months ago, I think, and I haven't gone back since. Never even got my wand...

Ah, Pottermore... I like it, even if it doesn't have much at this point... I'm also only missing one card, too. I don't know what else, unless one can unlock everything on top, in which case I'm missing whatever is on the far left as well. Can't wait for CoS to come out.

I remember getting stuck there too, I think. I think it was because I couldn't figure out how to zoom or something.

Exactly! I tried zooming in and grabbing the daily prophet or doing something else but it wouldn't let me so I just raged and quit. I had big plans too, like taking over Hogwarts as the next Dark Lord right under Dumbledore's crooked nose plans.

Did you try double clicking? Well...You just have to jump back on and try again!

I usually just turn the quality on low and double click with my mouse. I have no problems with zooming in then.

I'm pretty sure I tried double-clicking. I think it was just messed up back then. It was the 2nd day it was out. I remember waiting for like hours to get an invitation before giving up and going to sleep the first day it was out. My name was like CloakedMarauder9000 or something.

I think the last locked thing at the top might be Knockturn alley, or maybe it's the Ministry? I'm really curious!
