without long hair, hell.
I can't picture him as anything but the anient old man of the books. Any and all attempts to imagine him as a young adult, or worse, a teenager, goes straight back to 'old, long white hair, long white beard'.

It is like he was born that way. *groans as Gaga's "Born this way" gets stuck in her head again*

It was interesting seeing Dumbledore with short hair in the HBP.

Tell me about it. But then, it's like that with a lot of the teachers. I have difficulty picturing a teenaged Filius or Minerva, for example. And when I DO manage it, Minerva inevitably becomes Hermione in my head ... smart as hell, scary, and with a ruler up her butt about rules. *snerk*

Yeah I think the casting was amazing. Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Evanna Lynch were, of course, the best in their role. The Weasley family was brilliant! They look like a real family!
As for Bonnie, I think she's got the strong determined look to her, but the script didn't do her justice.

I thought they did quite well with the casting, but wonder what would have been different with Sir Ian McKellen or Sir Patrick Stewart as Dumbledore and Jeremy Irons as Lucius Malfoy instead of Jason Isaacs.

I think everyone was very well cast except for Narcissa; I always imagined her prettier, blonder and with her features far sharper like higher cheekbones and an upturned nose. I also think Michael Gambon was good for a 'manipulative' Dumbledore, whereas Richard Harris was a much kindlier, grandfather-like version. I did like Gambon overall, though. I wasn't keen on Lavender's actress, nor Fleur's (thought she would be stunningly beautiful, rather than just very pretty, but that's just my opinion and personal taste), and Bonnie Wright... Seriously disliked her. I also didn't like Remus Lupin's actor as him all that much, but I can't put my finger on why.
Everyone else (I think) was pretty much spot on. For Bellatrix, nobody but Helena Bonham Carter could have played her. She just fit her to a 'T'. I agree that Jason Isaacs was the perfect Lucius and of course Alan Rickman cannot be faulted. I think the Trio was well cast (though Hermione grew to be far prettier than her book self, lucky cow) and Rupert Grint never failed to make me laugh. Ralph Fiennes was a great Voldemort. I just loved pretty much everyone.

I loved Ralph as Voldemort. I did like Narcissa's actress, but I don't like her hair. It looked liked a bad hair job. I was ok with Fluer's actress. I also liked Matthew Lewis as Neville. I also liked Seamus and Dean's actors, but I didn't picture Parvarti as Indian. I should have with a name like that.

Parvati and Padma Patil? You didn't get that they were Indian? Hehe.
Did anyone else notice the random Black guy who changed houses and said some "very deep" lines?

Yeah, I wasn't very observant with that at first. Then I realized that they were Indian.

Haha! I don't like that they made Padma a gryffindor.

The mix up with Padma and Pavarti and which one was a gryffindor was probably a script mix up that wasn't caught. And yes I noticed the random house switching student that they threw in there because he said lines that belonged to other characters that I really wanted to see more of

I liked the casting jobs, but the directors and the scripts could have been better. I feel like Ron lost a lot of his character with the scripts. Not to mention no one was consistent with the look of the characters.

The guy who played Remus looked nothing like how I pictured him. The same applies to all the Weasleys. But Matthew Lewis did the whole transition of gawky Neville to sexy Neville perfectly for me

Yes I had that problem to. Although with the weasleys I think the problem was the lack of gingers. After all James and Oliver had their hair dyed for the movies.

They looked so much better with their natural hair anyways. I don't understand why they never found gingers. It seemed like such an oversight to me.

Yes I had that problem to. Although with the weasleys I think the problem was the lack of gingers. After all James and Oliver had their hair dyed for the movies. It would not be easy to find identical twin boys who are the right age and have red hair so they had to settle for twins that had skin that could be of a red head and then simple dye their hair. They could not dye the hair of twins that do not have skin that red heads have.

I am really glad they got twins to play Fred and George rather than having the same actor play both, which sometimes happens in films that require twins. I know The Parent Trap used on girl to play both of the twins.

Overall, I was pretty happy with the cast members. The only one I wasn't a fan of that much was Narcissa's actress. I liked her acting, but her hair looked like a bad hair job.

Her hair made her look a little like a badger or skunk.

That was Lindsey Lohan wasn't it?
But yeah, I am glad they used twins. It seemed more realistic, and if it was one guy, I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much.

Helen McCrory played Narcissa. Jason Isaacs said in a rather tongue in cheek interview that he'd auditioned for Narcissa, but got Lucius instead.

Call me strange, but I actually liked Narcissa's hair in the films even if it did look a bit odd.
I thought they did a really good job with the casting. Daniel Radcliffe looked exactly how I imagined Harry - he was perfect for it. The entire trio were brilliant. But I wasn't all that impressed with the actress who played Lily (the older one, not the younger one). She's a good actress, but she just didn't look the part for me.

I think Brendan Gleeson as Moody was also brilliant!!! Gary Oldman as Sirius was also my favorite. I always imagined Remus a little bit differently, but I have to say David Thewlis did a really good job.

I would have found it awkward if I was Domhnall thought, having to say "Mad-eye is dead", but he says that was his favorite line! I thought Domhnall was great as Bill. I'm actually a little obsessed with him and the Phelps twins.

I'm extremely picky and I really don't like majority of the cast. I like Tonks, twins, Moody, Luna (she was simly perfect), Remus, Bellatrix, Lucius, and Hermione in the first two movies. The trio...nope. Daniel looks nothing like I imagine Harry and Ron should be something like 6'5 so... (even if Rupert's faces are hilarious) But the lesser characters were overall well-casted.

I love Ralph Fiennes the most to be honest, though that more because I heard that his favorite line was 'I can touch you now...' made me crack up. Luna and Bellatrix were spot on, as was the first Dumbledore. Everything else... didn't do it for me. The trio were OK for the first two movies, but then- they lost me. Oh wait, McGonagall were another spot-on character as well . I was wondering, Am I alone in hating Alan Rickman? He looked kind of like how I pictured Snape, but not really. I didn't like his acting though... I can't put my finger on it, but I just really hated him as Snape.
