Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life but i was wondering if anyone knew of any 'reading' stories which start on a book other than the first but are set before the end of the series. For instance the type of story i am looking for is say the story is set in 4th year but HBP or Deathly Hallows turn up and the characters (set during GoF) read about their future that will happen in a couple of years?
It doesn't have to be exactly like that but general reading stories where the trio don't know what is going to happen next (so set during their time at Hogwarts while reading a Harry Potter book that is in the future).

These are the main points of the story:- harry does some muggle training before going to grimmauld, he's the lord of a few families, the portrait of sirius' mother is actually nice to him and he orders kreature to clean etc, sirius' has a blocked off bedroom and training area ready for him, the others are manipulative in a way, harry tell's Molly off just like he does in this fic, he does his own food and decides to cook breakfast for them aswell, ron/ginny/hermione don't like that they can't get access to harry-his idea.. I'm sure it has something to do with his way/their way etc but i've searched for those specific words.. I know what you on about. I got bits of memory coming back to me remembering that I've read it, but can't think of who wrote it. I'm unsure if I've saved it to my favourites on ff.net. I've tried looking on it myself. I think I remember that there's about 14/15 chapters to it. Got same name there - 19811945. If you want to go through them, you can. |

hi i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me trying to find a certain fanfic. I have been looking for years and never had any luck.
IN the story harry receives a letter on his birthday from Lily Potter I think.
It says that he was stolen as a baby and given to Lily by Dumbledore.
She wasn't able to say anything as she had a Unbreakable Vow put on her.
James knew the whole truth about the subject.
TUrns out harry is a girl not a boy and she is the daughter of the malfoys.
At one point Lucius has a go at Draco as he let her run out and get a tattoo.
SHe ends up with Snape.
Lily was her godmother and the malfoys never stopped looking for her.
Any help will be appreciated.

also this one is a harry potter/batman crossover. Read it ages ago, but can't seem to find it anywhere now.
Included Harry as a girl Harriet, I believe.
Lily and James are alive and she has siblings.
Lily bashing.
Remus and Sirius live in Gotham.
Harry goes to Gotham to marry Bruce because of a contract.
They get married however they don't see each other because Bruce believes she's
a gold digger.
Bruce changes his mind when she helps him out after he is strapped trying to
protect her as Batman. He realizes that she is a doctor and that she isn't happy
about the contract either.
Lily originally wanted another daughter of hers to marry Bruce for money since
she's spend almost all off James money.
James was raped by Severus, who he loves, while captured by Voldemort and
conceived Harry.
It takes Lily a while to realize that her preferred daughter won't be marrying
Bruce because Harry already did.

Ok, this is not RtB but is a Harry abused fic I think. More than canon. There was this scene where all of these people who were finding out about Harry's home life were in Dumbledore's office going crazy. Snape was there (it might have been Severitus or Sevitus, but not sure) and Remus and Sirius showed up. I think Harry was in the infirmary and it was summer break. And Mr Weasley was there, he and Ron had been cleaning out his shed and came across the bars from Harry's window 2nd year and talk and Arthur realizes that the boys weren't lying or exaggerating then and rushes to Dumbledore to tell him and all of them converge there with different info about the issue. And Minerva might be there too, not sure.
I cannot recall the title or author. I am almost positive I read it on ffn but I cannot find it. Does anyone know what is was called, or the author? Thanks.

Here are the things I look for in a fanfiction story. If anyone could recommend some stories that fulfill these requirements, that would be awesome. This is all personal opinion.
- Ron/Hermione or Harry/Hermione story - I think I'm the only one who ships both.
- Angst/Drama fic
- I prefer Ron or Harry to be very loving/protective/mature/passionate towards Hermione
- I like Hermione to be very shy/insecure/hesitant
- Harry or Ron initiate all physical contact with Hermione who is very shy/hesitant in response
(That's just the way I like them. Don't ask.)
- I prefer it to be a long story
- Other ships are welcome
- No AU or Crossovers
- I'd like Hermione to get hurt/injured in some way
Things I don't want to see.
- Aggressive/Dominant Hermione - One of my major pet peeves in fanfiction
- Clueless/Bumbling/Immature Ron or Harry
- No mindless/hardcore smut - If there is love making then it has to be tender/loving etc.
- No character bashing
As you can see, I'm very picky when it comes to fanfiction stories but like everyone else, I know what I like to read.
