With the rise of Half-bloods and muggle-borns more and more muggle know about magic so is the statute of secrecy becoming unnecessary

Well yeah, it will have to end at some point. And it'll serve the Wizarding World right, if you ask me.

Well, most of them. Pity the good ones get hit as much as the bad ones in these cases.

When you say it like that, yeah, that does suck. Who knows, maybe the Secrecy thing is a front in some countries, and we have those who actually know and accept their magical peoples.

Hm, then move the good British guys out and to these other countries. And then come down hard on the rest.

That would be awesome. I could just see Harry and co. leaving Wizarding Britain and moving to somewhere else. Maybe Switzerland or maybe even Australia?

Anywhere has to be better. And then we leave Dumbledore and his Death Eaters including Voldy to enjoy the consequences when the muggle military drops some bombs on their hideouts.

HELL YES! And to make it even better, let's unleash an armada of chainsaw wielding Carebears upon them!

Again the chainsaws! You are obsessed with them, there's the proof!

*evil laugh* No, it's not the chainsaws, it's this fic that I keep linking. It's corrupted me a lot...

I do think the secrecy act is endangered, but I would have the good guys actually try and prepare for that eventuality, not just move out of the country. The magical world has a lot to offer the non-magical, so I would have the good guys try and make sure that they have a way to trade that with the non-magicals.

For *us* that would doubtless be a good idea, but what about all these idiots who think magic is of the devil and would start another witch hunt?

Post by physicssquid on Jul 7, 2012 9:11:53 GMT -5
Make the magical world make itself indespensible, so the idiots wouldn't be able to start another witch hunt without pissing off their own governments.

Sounds like a good plan. Only problem is, most wizards aren't smart enough for that. Imagine that attempt with Fudge in charge ...

magda carter? is that the right spelling of it? anyway i always imagine royalty being involved with the wizarding world but not knowing the true state of events in the world and so they have less than 3 months to sort it out before they are made public to every muggle in the land.

I've got it on my favourites list, so it's easy to find again. There's a prequel, too.

Does anyone want to write a story where the statute of secrecy comes to an end?
