and other females his age or so, except for Ginny. it grosses me out actually.

Harry/Voldemort or Tom Riddle (can be used as soul mates, harry going to Tom/Voldemort willing to die, but Voldie refuses to kill him type stories and it also depends on how its written)

Fred/Draco/George (depends on how it's written)
Harry/Daphne (depends on how it's written)

I can tolerate Hermione and Ginny stories if they're well-written, but after years and years of reading fanfiction, it's rare to find a story with those two that's both good AND original.
Lately I've been craving Harry/Tonks, but I've run through everything on all the well-known sites and there doesn't seem to be much of a continuing demand for it.

I'm a hermione fan myself. Do you get angry when people over look her in the RtBs? I do, especially when she has done a really great thing (e.g. the whole time-turner scene or actually being able to lie during torture) and no comments but they comment a ton on Harry or Ron. A bit. What irritates me the most is that most of what's commented on about her is usually negative. And, if it's not that, it's, as you've said, ignored. Or, it's turned around somehow. Like one fic I've read - though it's one of my favorite RtB - it basically makes her weaker during the torturing part, like she wasn't strong as she technically is. |

Lavender is the kind of person who would cry at everything and break under torture, not Hermione. Hermione is a very strong character mentally and emotionally, if not magically. She just learns and understands the concepts behind a spell far quicker.

I don't really like slash pairings, and I only have a few favourite pairings. Most are canon:
Ron/Hermione
James/Lily
Andromeda/Ted
Lucius/Narcissa
Bill/Fleur etc.
but I also love reading Draco/Ginny and Luna/Dean.
I don't tend to read any Harry/anyone fanfics, but I'm not a fan of Harry/Ginny or Harry/Hermione. I will read stories where they're together, as long as they're not the main focus of the story.
Unfortunately, in many Draco/Ginny stories, Harry tends to be portrayed as the bad guy. I may not like him together with Ginny, but he's not a bad guy!

I don't think Lavender would cry at anything. She's girly yes, but not a weak person. I think she's just very straightforward. In my fic I'm trying to create her as a strong person. I think it's unfair to judge her from HBP

let's see... Harry/Hermione (I've gotten rather bored of Harry/Ginny) Remus/OFC Remus/Tonks Sirius/OFC (It makes me sad that he never seemed to have anyone.) James/OFC (The more stories I read about Lily the more I just don't really like her. I don't hate her, but I just don't see her as a good match for James and vice verse. But I've only found a couple good OFC stories for him.) Ron/Luna Neville/Luna Fred/Luna (I just love Luna!  ) Hermione/Fred (I've read a couple of good ones like this.) McGonagall/Dumbledore (They're just good together.) Regulus/OFC (There are so many great fics out there of him.) George/Luna George/OFC There's probably more that I would enjoy, but those are just the ones I've been reading lately. Anyone have any suggestions?  |

I am really boring as my favourite pairing is Ron/Hermione and a distant second is Harry/Ginny. Honestly i see pairings like Harry/Hermione, Draco/Hermione or Harry/Snape and i wonder if these people have read the books because it can't be possible to keep these characters in character and have those pairings.

Ron is treated very very badly by a lot of authors in fan fiction. It is like they are angry at him for being the guy Hermione is in love with in the books (as they usually want Hermione with someone else) so they try and take out their anger on him in their stories. |
