Haha, just thought of something hilarious. What if Hermione squashed the bug that was in her hair after the Second Task? XD Poor Skeeter.

I am actually surprised she didn't, or that Krum didn't, could see either of them doing it. But what would happen afterwards? Would she revert back to a squashed human form?

If that did happen Skeeter would probably sue them

in which case she'd also be in trouble, being an illegal animagus and all

It does make you wonder what happens if someone is injured while in their Animagus form. It would be very interesting to see what would happen if Hermione squashed that beetle in GoF.

Or if one of the many owls in Hogwarts just picked her up and ate her before she could transform *eg*

Yes! That would be awesome. Though, could she transform inside the owl is she wasn't chewed up?

Or if one the plants in the greenhouses got her...
But I dunno that is never mentioned and you just know that Sirius got hurt while wrestling Remus as a werewolf and yet he came out of that mostly banged up and tired, I would have expected him to be bit more bloody...

Same here. Though omitting the blood might be another attempt to keep the book 'child-friendly'. Or JKR just forgot about it - wouldn't be the first time, after all.

I've often wondered what happens to animagus when they get hurt and if the injuries get transferred over exactly. Most fics I've read take the route that you can't transform back until you're fully healed but I doubt that's true for canon.

No, I can't imagine that an injury prevents changing back. Ok, maybe broken bones would be more painful, but why should it not be possible? The only reason I could think of is lack of space - I mean, if a rat is hiding in a small hole, it couldn't transform into a man, of course. But a cut or something can't be a problem. I could imagine the injuries still being there after changing, but nothing more.

Same here, although, I do like reading fics where someone is stuck in their animagus form until someone has healed them and they get to know that person over time (extremely cliché I know, but a cliché I enjoy).

I love stories like that - especially the Severus and Harry stories, where they bond.
- Snapegirlkmf wrote a few stories like that: Moon Fire, Broken Wings series - There's teddylonglong's story Lord of the Wind, I think, where Harry's transformed into a storm Phoenix - Or Peorth, where Harry's transformed into a panivco

Those are my favourite type too. There's one, where Snape is hurt by Bellatrix in his bat form and is nursed back to health by Harry, that I really enjoyed. It does have physical abuse in it though. Don't remember what it was called.

Someone mentioned that a while ago in one the other threads posted... I would have to hunt it down but it was in one the first dozen threads posted in the General Board here...

I went and read it, it was really good. Tightrope though not as good but hope to read more of it to see what happens.
I noticed that not much good came from the blackmail though given it only lasted a year. Could just imagine the issues if Rita was at it, at the same time the Umbridge was in the school.. But they really should have tried to use Rita in that instance to get Umbridge out of the school.

They should have, yes. But then JKR didn't have a reason to cut Harry's communication with everyone and have him run in the trap and kill Sirius *growls*
Besides, wasn't it interesting that Hermione, who was always so in awe of rules and authority, blackmailed Skeeter rather than report her? I don't think she looked favourably at the twins blackmailing Bagman ... or trying to.

Don't get me wrong Hermione is a great girl, but her sense of right and wrong is a bit skewed, not to mention her priorities...
So yeah she is a bit of a hypocrite if you ask me.

She's also a bit narrow minded. If something doesn't conform to her beliefs, then she dislikes that or that person.
For example Luna Lovegood, Fred & George - she said that their magic was just flashy, with no substance, when they just might be geniuses for coming up with so many things. And then there's the whole SPEW thing. Did she ever even talk to some other house elves besides Dobby and Winky? Dobby is an odd elf even for the elves and I bet you she didn't go to the kitchens to talk to the elves. And knitting clothes for them? What if they did get freed by accident? Then they would probably die/kill themselves or become like Winky...

But in Hermione's mind Winky shouldn't behave like that, but be glad to be free of an abusive master, so it was ok to free her against her will

Hermione's attitude towards House Elves and there place in the Wizarding world and the manner she expresses those views is probably a very good example to where muggleborn bigotry comes from.
I hate to say it, but in Hermione's case she is acting like an uppity mudblood who should know her place. That is to say, Hermione is a ignorant of the magical world muggleborn barging in and talking about things she doesn't understand.

The problem was, she thought she was the only one who understood ... but I suspect that's not limited to magical stuff anyway, Hermione is the type who always thinks she is right and knows everything (and better than everyone else!) and doesn't like to be proven wrong or outdone. She'd probably be the same in the muggle world if she thought she knew something better and would't listen to anyone there, either.

Would Skeeter and Hermione make a good couple because I just found an interesting smut fic involving Rita, Hermione in a hot and steamy situation.
