Just found this out from an email from Alivan's. It looks rather interesting actually. www.aurorstale.com/ By the way, does it only load on IE? Anyways here is the Teaser for it. What do you think? Will it have the spells as in HP or no? I know there are no characters or places as it is based in NYC, but would J.K. allow the spells and such?

Interesting... but where are the complicated wand movements?
Is this a spin off?

This is not official, so it's not a spin-off.

Er, that's what I meant... spin-off as in not approved by JKR. If that wasn't the word, I forget which I was wanting to use then...

This doesn't interest me at all. If it had actual HP characters that would be awsome! But nyeh, looks like a cheap knock off.

I might watch this...though I wish it had actual HP characters in it.

It's obviously based somewhat in the HP universe. The term "Auror" gives it away among bunches of other things. I hope they don't plan to continue on to make money off of it, because if they so, then as soon as JKR and Warner Bros. finds out, they'll sue without delay.
Otherwise, the trailer seems quite rough, and, just based off of that I probably wouldn't be too interested in it; it seems like a classic action movie. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, really. Nevertheless, if they touched it up, go WB involved, or at least permission from WB, then it has real potential.
I've heard rumors that WB plans to go on and make a set of HP movies about the next generation; I'd be interested in that, and I'd also be interested in a movie about Harry as an Auror between DH and "Nineteen Years Later" or something like that. I could see this movie becoming something similar to that if WB got their hands on it. It's unfortunate, but I don't really think they'd be able to get Radcliffe to come back for yet more HP movies; as I recall, he's trying to get away from being Harry Potter. >_>
Regardless, the OP is an interesting concept to be sure, but, as-is, not worth much.

I would love to see the next-gen movies...
Though it would be weird to see someone else as Harry. XD

XD As strange as it would be, a big company like WB can find someone who looks similar enough for the makeup artists to make it work. Really, he's way too young to successfully play a 37 or so year old character. I really do think they should have found a similar-looking but older actor for the 19 years later shot, but well, I suppose that for 3 actors, that might've been a tall order... And failing that, it's WB, they have the means to entice Radcliffe and co. back to at least cameo if they really want to.

XD I would like to see a movie about the next-gen too, but I personally would much rather they wait for Rowling to actually publish a story about them first. I just can't see me liking it very much otherwise, unless of course if the screenplay is written by her

I mean I grew up with the HP books and no matter how flashy and good the movies were, nothing compares to the images that Rowling managed to weave into my mind, and I want her to work that magic again!

Yeah, I know the feeling... I do wish Rowling would show us more of the next generation... I'd find it really interesting

Well she never said she wasn't going to write more books about Hogwarts, she just said that she wouldn't write more books about Harry. So we can always hope that there is an idea playing in the back of her mind, which will one day spark, causing her to give us more of her magical world

Heck even if it's not 7 books, at least it would be something. And I am looking forward to her new adult novel. It may not be HP, but that still won't disuade me from giving it a shot at least

One I imagine they got permission to do this Web Series, as other wise it would be to close to Cannon-verse. That said I still think it could be interesting as not everyone has access to a million bucks or so.
Two I think the term you want it Knockoff.
But really this one is based in USA so you have the Americans DMLE, so that is how I look at this as expanding the universe.

I'm not entirely sure if they got permission, but whether they did or didn't doesn't really matter; either way they still obviously plan on going through with this.

I dunno but do not think they could have even made it to this point without at least getting an Okay out of all those that own it.
Either way I will keep a watch on it if for anything as something to give me my magical world muse a boost. Look forward to seeing the characters a few of them look cool.

I looked at their website and I inferred that they aren't really looking to profit off of this in which case any suit filed against them will be shaky at best. I think they're using donations.

That sounds logical, and unless they get a BIG donation, cannot see them making money off it anyways. After all it is a Web Series, now if it was going to be going on TV or the Silver Screen that may be an issue.
I looked at their blog and your idea does make their posts look a little more logical to me lol...

This doesn't interest me at all, though I couldn't tell you why. Maybe it's the American accent in HP? I don't know. But I probably wouldn't watch it unless I got some serious recommendations for it.
