I think I've begun to have a downturn of hope with the new deletions of M rated fics. To begin with the percentage of M fics out there was so little, and the very good ones that I enjoy are definitely on the target list, so with that, I think I'm looking for a place to set up my stories. I'm not going to move just yet, mostly because I don't have the time, but I'm definitely ready to start a new account elsewhere.
With that being said, I'm not sure what sites out there would be best to post on. Does anyone know which site would offer a good place to start? I've heard that AO3 is good, but I'm not sure about the whole waiting list. As well, youfanfiction is relatively new and upcoming, and after a brief checking out of the site, I'm relatively pleased. As well, wattpad is a pretty good place to post.
Any recommendations or reviews for the sites?

Hmm, Wattpad is a pretty good site and fanfiction is getting really popular over there. I don't really like HarryPotterFanFiction because you have to wait for people to approve of your works and they definitively don't accept "Reading the Books" stories. I think that most of the people on there are a bit ... how to put it ... snobby. That's the word that comes to mind when I think of that site. There's also HP Fandom, but I don't know much about it. FictionAlley - don't know much about it either, sorry. If you like Harry/Severus stories with Severus adopting Harry and other similar themes (no slash) then Potions and Snitches is the site for you. I went and googled it, and here is a link to a list of fanfiction sites.

do you think they will take down "T" rated stories if they think it is supposed to be rated "M"?
I'm just thinking of some people who have rated their story(ies) as "T" and when a scene that is rated higher comes they just put a warning on that chapter.

If they do that, I leave immediately. And only if some idiot reports it . By the way, have you ever read the profiles for some of these reporters? I feel like they're some kind of cult/terror group for fanfiction!

Seems like a bunch of the "M" rated authors are moving to adultfanfiction.net now. Is ff.net really trying to commit social suicide here are is there something else going on here?

If they only move to adultfanfiction then it won't be too bad for fanfiction as that's their sister site but yes, it does seem like they're killing themselves off.

Wait they run or own AFF? I did not know that.... If that is the case then we would not be able to post our Reading the Books, stories there either.

I think that it's their sister site but if I'm wrong then correct me. I'm not sure where I heard it.

Isn't there this lovely rule against curses and words like that? Because that would mean they are to be banned as well... Hypocrites anyone?

nah, AFF is completely disconnected from FFnet. It was, somewhat ironically, the response to FFnet's explicit porn/violence ban from back in 2002, much like today's yourfanfiction
EDIT: also, on the subject of ratings, if one scene in a story is M-rated and the rest of the story is T-rated then, by definition, the entire story is M-rated and the admins have the right to remove it without prior notice
