Out of curiosity, who here has written, or tried to write, or is in the process of writing their own novel/book/story?

I tried to write an adventure story about eight years ago, but my dad accidently deleted it. I tried replicating it later, but it refused to sound right.

I'm working on one write now. I've written a poetry book, but I have yet to do anything with it (I suck at editing. Though my friend knows a publisher...) My life's plan is to become an author, so I've written plenty of short stories and am proud of them .

I did a small poetry book, that was apparently really good, but it got lost at the end of the school year.
I've considered writing a novel length story, which is most likely how my current story (Power of Knowledge) is going to end up. I can see it being quite long, depending on how it works out.

I've been attempting to write my own, though I suck at planning it out. I would love to publish a book one day, but I doubt that will ever happen!

I currently am trying to write my own story, but I haven't worked on it in awhile. Basically, it's the autobiography of a house, so it chronicles the story of several families through about three-hundred years. I'm kind of skipping around while writing it though, so I'm currently writing the Civil War part, though it starts prior to the Revolutionary War. I've got a good deal planned out in my head though, so I sort of know where it's going.

I did have to write a short tragedy for my Shakespeare class last year. It ended up being a little over 1000 words, the minimum it could be was 500. It's not the best, but I can PM it to anyone who's interested.

I have a couple of novel ideas I would like to write out at some point but I really have to be in the right mindframe to properly get into writing. It might have to be that I tell someone else exactly how I want the plot and have them write it out instead so the idea would be mine but the writing and language would be whoever agreed to write it. I wouldn't take credit for the quality of writing and they wouldn't take credit for the plot/characters/storyline. I don't know if that sort of partnership could work without it ending in a horrible legal battle though.

True Silvertongue but I know what you mean. I love coming up with new ideas and I really do love writing, my problem just is that I think while walking so every time I come up with wonderful quips or lines I'm miles away from a notebook or a laptop. Sucks. But I did have to write a novel in school and tried to make it into a series. I was 13 so now it is awfully childish. Shame because the idea wasn't bad...

I don't know if that sort of partnership could work without it ending in a horrible legal battle though. Well, there are professional Ghostwriters out there. My problem is a bit different. I have a whole lot of story ideas, too. But they never feel "finished" enough for me to start working on them in earnest. And then there's the lack of motivation to actually sit down and start writing... *sigh* I've written a few short stories. A novel sounds like a daunting task in contrast. Maybe I'll try a short novella first...

I have a full set of poems that are just ready to be publish, and I have a few storiy ideas, and a original story that I'm about halfway done with, and am in the proccess of editing what I already have written to make it better, and get my mind back into it so that I can finish it.
It's a vampire story that I've had in my mind for several years now. I've also begun writing a mystery story that's going to have quite a twist at the end of it.
