As you can all tell, I haven't been on much in the past few weeks. I'm not going into many details but I'm dealing with some stressful stuff in my life coupled with work and other things. I'm still going to be running this site and being an administrator, but I feel the need to take on a co-admin to help me out. So meet the new co-admin: ShotgunWilly, whom you can find here readingthehpbooks.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=shotgunwillyI decided to have a co-admin about two weeks ago, but I kept it secret since I didn't want to hold open tryouts or have people lobby for the position. Willy helped set up the IRC channel which I hope to use more when I'm less busy, and other things have made me believe he's the best suited for the job. There were a lot of good people on my shortlist, however. If you have any questions, want sub-boards set up, or want to bounce ideas off of anyone, you can PM him as well as me. |

Good idea, I had already thought you'd might need one to keep an eye on things and to help you when you are busy. The way this board is developing one admin alone would be hard pressed to keep up, even with more time than you have.

Yes, well, thankfully Proboards Admin panel seems fairly idiot-proof, especially compared to some of the other boards I've admined on like zetaboards. That forum software has, or at least used to have, a bug that would completely bork up the entire forum if you accidentally deleted a forum with subforums in it. *whoopsie~* lol.
Also, in the future for the sake of trying to keep things organized, I'd like to ask that people not request more subforums than they need. I'd prefer not to make subforums for all 7 books if the fics aren't either already written or are being written. Remember, you can always request another subforum later! That's just me, though. Point can do whatever the heck he wants. >_>

I only know phpBB, and had to work with that without any explanations after the initial Tech Admin decided to drop it into my lap and vanish, but it was rather foolproof as well (at least I never managed to do anything stupid!), so I hope proboards is the same.
Sounds reasonable to me.

I agree with the others. Having everything sorted alphabetically is definitely an improvement. Kudos for that. However, I noticed one mix-up: Isilarma and I are listed right behind each other (which makes sense, since we're both writing Founder-fics) but technically "Isthissupposedtobeclever" should be between us, right? |

When you read it as one word, yes - hadn't even noticed, as I read it as "Is this supposed ...", and then it comes before Isilarma ;D

Eh, it's not going to be perfect, end of story; there are way too many categories and the way that proboards does their category sorting is pretty inefficient, IMO. I'll look at it nevertheless.
