A more joyous occasion had never been seen. The Order of the Pheonix was holding a magnificent party, celebrating the end of the war. Albus Dumbledore was being showered with praise, as the vanquisher of the the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
The festivities were being held in Godric's Hollow. Hours after the defeat of Voldemort, Lily and James had Peter break the Fidelius charm so that they could, for the first time, invite others to their home. After all, Lily had chosen the home because of it's potential as entertainment for guests. Everyone from the order had come, plus Arthur's wife- Molly who was a good friend of Lily's. Molly had brought her six boys and infant girl, all of whom but the eldest three, Bill, Charlie and Percy and the girl that Molly held were in the other half of the large living room with Neville, Alice and Franks boy and Lily and James' own child, Harry.
The other half of the living room, the kitchen and the dining room (All of which were mostly connected due to a open floor plan) were bustling with excited people. Refreshments were all around, most of which had been supplied by Molly and Alice. After about an hour of idle chatter and catching up, Minerva and Alastor had finally arrived, having been held up by their own responsibilities at their work places. Minerva and Albus had decided to let the students out of their classes for Halloween in celebration, so Minerva did not have to teach. Once the last of the order had arrived, James and Sirius stood up on two chairs in the dining room and shouted together,
“Listen up!” It took a few moment for the rooms to quiet down, and everyone turned to look at the two men. Sirius stepped down while James began to speak,
“Lily and I would like to start by welcoming you all to our home, We've been meaning to entertain but, unfortunately have been unable to do so. So we must all give a hearty cheer for the man who defeated and imprisoned the Dark Lord and made this possible, Dumbledore!” Everyone in the room immediately began clapping, with a bit of hollering in the mix. The aforementioned headmaster of Hogwarts smiled as Sirius motioned for him to step forward. Jame stepped down and Albus raised one arm, effectively stopping the noise.
“These past few years, have been filled with uncertainty and fear.” He began without hesitation, and quite a few people nodded their heads in agreement, “Many of our friends have perished, and we pay tribute to them.” There was quite a bit of shuffling... Quite a few of the members of the order were now gone... “But now, that shadow had been lifted and we are free at last! So let us remember the fallen ones and do as they would have wanted, Celebrate their life and rejoice in our freedom!” He raised his glass, followed by others as he took a sip. Silence took hold for a moment, a moment of silence to remember those lives... Then, The silence was broken with a few hearty cheers from Sirius and James. Everyone joined in and the chatter began once again.
“It's such a pleasure to finally be able to interact again! I may love James, and I certainty enjoyed the presence of Peter, Remus and Sirius but it got lonely at times.” Lily said while speaking to Alice and Molly. The girls respective husbands had one arm wrapped around them.
“I can't imagine being holed up in here for so long,” Molly replied in an understanding tone, “I might just go mad, especially if I had all of my children with me! Fred and George would drive me up a wall within hours of being stuck inside. Those two are trouble makers, they are.” Alice glanced over toward the children. The twins were laughing together, shooting an occasional glance toward Ron, who was with Harry and Neville, playing with the cat.
“How you manage all seven of those children, I don't know. Neville is enough for me and Frank, always getting into trouble. He tried to eat a piece of heaven's knows what a few days ago...” Alice glanced at the little girl in Molly's arms who was playing with her mother's arms. “Are you enjoying your daughter?” She questioned, “I know you've been wishing for a little girl.”
“She's a little angel,” Molly replied, gently removing her hair from Ginny's grasp. “Not nearly as much trouble as the boys were.” Arthur looked down at his daughter's face and grinned,
“You know, she's the first girl born in the Weasley family for generations. She's going to have trouble, with all the brothers and cousins. Suppose that's a good thing, She'll learn to be tough.” Lily leaned down to look at Ginny,
“Hey Ginny,” She cooed, “You're going to beat those brothers of yours up if they try anything, aren't you?” Ginny reached up an tried to eat Lily's vibrant hair. Lily giggled and gently took the girls hands and molded them into fists. “Give them a good hit, won't you?” After a moment, Lily released the girl and stepped back. Molly smiled at Lily,
“You're such a good mother.” She noted approvingly, who smiled. “Harry's lucky to have you.”
“He certainly is,” James agreed, and Lily rolled her eyes in reply, “I can't believe how much happier I am as a father now that He's gone. It's amazing to know that he'll grow up safely... He won't have to worry about war and fighting...” Alice nodded,
“Me and Frank had been talking about what we were going to do if this war somehow lasted into Neville's future.. We almost thought it would be a good idea to leave the country and give Neville a safer home. After all, we may not be muggle-born, but we were certainly targets after all we've done.”
“Then it's a good thing that that's no longer necessary.” Sirius cut in, showing up next to James, grinning. “We'd hate to lose friends.” James, Lily and Molly nodded. The three girls had bonded through the stress of having husbands in the order and were good friends now.
“I wonder,” James began idly, “I mean... Merlin can you imagine what would have happened if Dumbeldore hadn't stopped him?” Lily shivered,
“I don't want to think about it.” She replied, sending a worried glance toward her little boy in the next room, “I'm happy knowing that Dumbledore did stop him.” However, whether Lily was happy not knowing or not, fate seemed not to care. Suddenly there was a very loud Crack! There was not a single person who owned a wand that did not have it out in a moment, training it toward the sound- around the corner on the counter next to the pantry. No one moved or said a word for a few moments.
“No one do anything.” It was Alastor who finally broke the silence, and as he was one of the closest people to the sound of the crack (He had been speaking to an excited Bill and Charlie who had wanted to know everything about being an auror.) Very slowly and cautiously, he walked around the small kitchen table and past the pantry. There, next to the wall was a stack of books and a note on top. Muttering a few spells under his breath, he used every spell he could think of to make sure there was no curses or dark magic on the books. Finally satisfied, he reached forward and picked up the note, reading it. With every word his eyebrow went higher, until finally he read aloud.
To The Order Of the Phoenix,
Did you know that there are about a billion different possible time lines in this universe? James Potter asked what would have happened if Dumbledore had not stopped Lord Voldemort, so I, Father Time, decided to answer that question. These book detail what would have happened. Please note that anything that happens in these books after October 30th, 1981 is no longer absolute for your future. Your future won't necessarily be remotely close to the books, but I figured it would be interesting for you to know the possibility. Also, Anything that this book mentions happening before October 30th 1981 is fact, so I guess you could use the information contained in the prosecutions and trials against Death Eaters to come. Enjoy!
-Father Time
P.S. If you decide to read the books, then time outside of this house will be stopped so that you can finish without having to leave. Consider it a gift, though time inside the house will move so you can sleep and such.
In response, there was quite a bit of spluttering. James looked quite shocked, and awed at having been answered by Father Time. After a minute of 'What!'s, Albus cut in,
“If there is no time changing outside while we read, then I see no reason not too. It would be quite interesting to know the 'what if'. So if there are no protests, Shall we begin?” No one had any protests, though if one looked- Little Peter Pettigrew looked quite alarmed and worried... He didn't know if these books would reveal his treachery... he would just have to hope it didn't. Raising his wand, Albus conjured enough chairs for everyone to sit in a circle. Minutes later, everyone was seated, all the young children were in their parents laps and nearly everyone was anxious to read and discover the possibilities.
“Shall I begin?” Minerva offered, Alastor handed her the first book and she read the cover. “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.”
“What!” James immediately exclaimed, Alastor looked at the other books and arched an eyebrow,
“They are all about Harry.” He answered with a glance at the two parents.
“What does Harry have to do with anything?” She fretted worriedly. Alice patted her on the back,
“How about we read an find out, Lily?” She replied comfortingly. Lily nodded slowly, kissing her baby boy on the head. Said boy was unaware that his future was about to be read out to the whole room...
