Well, we finally have our own place now! Isn't that awesome, folks? Now we'll have an easier time with people who need to catch up...
This page is for Ministry affairs. The only way magical creatures show up here is if they're being attacked. DO NOT use the old area for role play anymore!
Summary of the old thread:
Alice and Maxwell have gone on a date to get to know each other. Eleazar is suspicious and Brayden is a loyal son. Violet is crushing hard on Maxwell, Marigold is devoted and the current Minister is a tool!
And now, they're readying for war!

Chris stood at the front of the Atrium. All the volunteers, Aurors and emergency healers were prepared. This was going to be a long messy day. He felt his pocket jiggling with galleons and the stress lessened. Everywhere people were milling around, listening to news, sharing stories. He saw his Aurors doing what was called an End Note. If they died, they'd leave behind words for their families and final wills. It was five a.m, far too early. Nonetheless, they needed to be prepared.
"Order!" he yelled at the large group. Immediately his Aurors came to attention. The volunteers straggled a bit, and the healers ignored him completely in favor of doing their healing routine. Not that he cared about the healers, he wasn't in charge of them.
"In precisely a half hour's time, we will be arriving on scene at Hogwarts. The school is going to be locked and shut and all students in their dorms, watched by the teachers. No student will be able to get in or out! From there we are going to enter the forest. I want any creature you see to be taken out! This is a children's school for Merlinsakes, we can't have those monsters near them. The Forest is huge, and it's likely we won't even scuff half of it. From the grounds, begin destroying everything as you move forward. Fall trees, destroy homes. Make it so no monster wants to live there. Fall back at sunset. Expect to be attacked." announced Chris.
"If you are injured, precisely an hour after the attack begins, healers will move forward and fix anyone they find and portkey you back to St. Mungo's. If your friend is down, secure him first. We don't need to explain to his wife and kids he was eaten. Pray to Merlin or whatever the hell you want. Remember this cause. We fight for a safer future. Once the attack is complete at sunset, move back and report here. Healers will deliver a list of names to myself. I need to know who we lost and who's injured. To prevent retribution on the students or Hogsmeade, several prominent leaders will erect barriers. Good luck, and don't make me have to inform your families of your deaths. In twenty minutes, gather in your groups, and take the portkeys directly to Hogwarts and begin attacking."
After he was done his speech, he headed towards his office. He noticed a few reporters had gathered and were fervently scribbling. The attack would be on the morning report. Ignoring them, he entered his office and looked at the message from the Norwegian Auror office. They promised Vladmir by mid-afternoon. He smirked.
He moved to his desk and pulled out a large envelope. He labelled it The Alice Case. In it, he tossed the keys to the interrogation office, sound-proofed and private of course. Along with it, he tossed the note from the Norwegian Auror Office, and a scrap paper informing Rosebane which room number it was. Then he threw it on his desk and headed to the Atrium again. It was time.

Maxwell had arrived at six in the morning, and made his way into the Ministry. Because of his connections, he didn't need to enter through the visitor's entrance. Instead, he came through the Floo Network, just like everyone else. After brushing the excess ash off of his robes - silver and green, today - he first stopped off at Christopher's office to find out where those thugs from last night were being held.
Along the way, a bottom-less pouch of galleons - 25,000 to be exact - had been donated to the Head Auror himself. With his pockets significantly lighter and his mind set on payback, Maxwell went down to the lower dungeons, where the interrogation rooms resided. Because the interrogation rooms are separate from the rest of the Ministry, he had to take a special flight of stairs, versus using the elevators. That didn't bother him in the least - just more time to savor the moment.
The very last door on the left. Maxwell reminded himself, once he entered the dank, dimly lit dungeons. They'd been revamped over the years, to give them a modern feel, but nothing could quite remove the feeling of death and suffering that had been here in generations long past. He smiled cruelly. Oh, this was going to be fun.
He finally found the room he was searching for and entered. And sure enough, there were the six men, along with one of his allies. "Hello, Veronica. You're looking rather fierce today."

Veronica sat in the interrogation room, flipping through a boring Witch Weekly magazine. She had been sent a rather interesting message from Christopher, and arrived here immediately to wait. Being the head of Regulations of Magical Creatures, she was fond of using these rooms to interrogate those monsters. In fact, her excellence in getting confessions and answers had made the ministry look the other way in her rather, unconventional ways. It was these precise skills that had brought her to Maxwell Rosebane's attention.
Meeting him and been the best thing for her. He had shown her how to really use her methods. He'd made her see the light. He showed her the way to exterminate the monsters who killed innocent children. Her fist clenched the magazine as she remembered the particular child who'd never deserved his death. Pushing her thin hair back, she heard someone come in.
Looking up, she saw Maxwell say "Hello Veronica, you're looking rather fierce today."
She smirked as she responded, "Flattery? That's the first thing you have to say? You know me too well. Shall we begin on this cretin? I've informed my secretary that I'll be here doing war efforts. I'm yours all day. And I do hope their leader shows up for a visit. I love taking down the big man."

Maxwell chuckled darkly, a rich, disturbing laugh that most never heard from him. Veronica had gone beyond the willing student and had surpassed him in the ways of cruelty and torture. She had come up with brilliantly cruel ways to deal with those who dared bring about his ire, her own, or the Ministry's.
"It seems that we're going to have quite the adventure today." he spoke, glancing at each of the prisoners. "If that's the case, would you mind if we saved those two for last?" His eyes settled on Mitch and Vance, sending a predatory hunger through him. "They must be made to suffer more than the rest, and what better way to do that than by making anticipate what will be done to them?"

"Isolation to hear the screams, or bear witness?" asked Veronica, her curiosity piqued.
Whatever had happened with these men last night and Maxwell had earned his ire. Combined with his own frustrations of not being able to enter the Forbidden Forest and battle, he was in a dark mood. Any other woman would have been chilled by his laugh, but the woman standing in front of Maxwell knew much about his dark side. She thrived under his dark side.
"They must have done something awful," said Veronica with a smirk, her heels clicking on the hard floor as she went to move the indicated away. "I rarely get out of bed for anyone, usually I'm getting into bed with them. Only for you would I leave a man's apartment without a morning session. Do share the details, Chris was so vague."

Maxwell glared coldly at the men. "I think they should be isolated from each other, just in case they have some futile idea of escaping. I don't think they'd succeed, but why give them false hope?: He gripped his spare wand - the one he used when doing spells that are considered illegal - tightly. Already, his mind was considering a number of horrific things that could be done. This so-called interrogation was nothing but a cover up for what would be considered a torture session. So he explained about Alice and how they had become friends - though he kept the story minimal for now. There were some things that these men didn't need to know. A little about the date, how the men had tried to jump him, and the battle that had resulted. He rubbed his jaw absentmindedly.
"Needless to say, I have more than enough reason to see them dead." This caused the six men to squirm in panic. "But, I won't go that far. There are worse things than dying, after all."

"That there are," said Veronica absently, absorbing the story. She was already making plans to stop by Cassalina's house tonight to see this girl for herself, and hear Cassalina's thoughts.
"I'll move them myself, feel free to begin without me, but I hope you don't tire yourself out or have too much fun," said Veronica, regaining her teasing mannerisms.
She sashayed her hips flirtatiously as she approached the two gagged men. One looked fearful, Mitch, his name was on the file, the other, Vance, was glaring. Oh he would be fun to break. She bent over, and said threateningly enough for Maxwell to hear, "Looks like you boys had some fun last night. I hope you enjoy playing our games too."
Then she used her wand to levitate the two out of the room and into seperate cells. As she walked, she hummed a rather cheerful tune. Behind them the screams had begun. Not as loud as Veronica liked, but definitely a starter course.

Maxwell first went for two of the three that had gone after him - he'd save Mitch for later. He walked around them, eyes glinting in a predatory fashion. The very first thing he did was use Nerve-Blasting Hexes on them in turn. It wasn't anywhere near the strength of Crucio, but it was enough to cause them pain.
"This is only one one thousandth of what is in store for all of you." he said, smirking as they started to cower under the curse. He increased the frequency of the spell, so that it attacked their nerves at a faster rate. Their screams, which had been nice before, had become even more pleasant to listen to. This continued for ten minutes off and on, before he grew tired of the same spell. He paced back and forth, taking the chance to revel in their frightened expressions.
"Do you have families?" he inquired coldly. "Mothers? Daughters? Sons? Wives, even?" Judging by their expressions, one or more things proved to be true for all of them. Maxwell fought the mad desire to smirk as some of them paniced. "Because I can find out, and maybe even pay them a visit if need be."

"I'd love to meet their brothers or fathers. Maybe in a dimly lit room, or in an abandoned cabin in the middle of no where. They'd be screaming all night. I can guarantee it would be filled with Unforgivables and more," said Veronica, sauntering back inside.
She lookes at the pathetic group. Travis had been identified as the leader. She loved breaking in the leaders, but Maxwell had saved him for last in this group. Obviously he had something special in store.
"Though I'm not particularly fussy, women suit my tastes too. Will you be retrieving some of your toys from home?" she asked, walking around one of the bigger men.
"Look at this big boy, he's made it clear as day to anyone that he's the one in charge. I bet woman fall at his feet," she said, as she used a simple cutting curse along his front. "Oops. What a pity, I ruined your flawless abs. Ah well, maybe some salt can heal it?"
She smirked at his terrified face. Yes, this was going to be a fun day.

Maxwell laughed darkly at the man's plight, savoring that terrified expression. He then turned to the two morons he'd been messing with. Neither of them were of any importance, but he figured that they had done unforgivable things of their own. He briefly rummaged through their minds with his Legilimency, making sure not to rip into them too much... no need to knock them out yet.
He sauntered around the room, doing the exact same thing, reveling in their looks of abject horror. Only Vance and Mitch were spared for the moment. "I think I'd like to meet sweet little Stacey." he said to Travis, grinning cruelly. "She's what, seven? I'm sure she'd scream for me without a problem."
Travis started thrashing about madly in his seat, obviously angry. "Oh, what's wrong? Did I upset Vosnik's little errand boy? I wonder if Penny knows about your extra activities? What would she say if she were to see you like this, I wonder?"

"Poor Penny," said Veronica with false sympathy as she used a stinging hex on the open wounds of the other man, "Do you think she'd like some attention?"
Travis glared at her, his mouth moving and garbled sounds coming from him. She laughed at his face.
"We only did it for Vosnik, I don't like hurting people!" cried out one fellow.
"Don't worry, Vosnik's on his way too, I'm sure you'll get a chance to resign," said Veronica, batting her lashes.
She stopped her wand. The man in front of her had fainted from the pain. Weakling. She thought about waking him up, but decided against it. There were other fish in the sea after all. Maxwell had caught the biggest fish, but the one who tried aiming for mercy was worth an adventure. The fainted man was stunned, he wasn't needed anymore.

"Oh dear, so you'll do anything Vosnik says?" Maxwell inquired mockingly. "Even if he told you to kiss a Dementor? I mean, if you're willing to attack innocent young girls, there's no telling how far you could -"
"She's not innocent!" one of them growled. "The little bitch knew that she needed to pay the boss! She had it comin to -" The idiot didn't get to finish his sentence, because Maxwell's wand went straight for his throat. He cast a non-verbal Ear Ringing Curse, putting enough force behind it to cause pain without making his ears bleed. That would happen later.
His screams of pain filled the room, a most pleasant sound. He lifted the curse. The one who had protested was now fading in and out of consciousness. Deciding that it was time for something truly painful, he reached inside his robes and pulled out a small, silver box. Inside it were twenty small, gold needles.

Veronica saw the needles and smirked. Let these monsters feel some real pain. None of them knew what it felt to actually hurt. She looked at the leader. Maxwell would destroy the rest, she wanted to play with the leader before all power was lost. Immediately she had a bucket conjured.
"Aguamenti," she hissed, watching the water fill up.
"Let's play a game while Maxwell teaches your friends. I'm Professor Veronica, and your the student. I'll ask you questions, you give me answers," said Veronica sith a smirk. She knew her game wouldn't last long. Maxwell's mood was such that he'd want to explode at everyone right now.
"First question, why attack innocent women?" asked Veronica, removing Travis's gag with her own hands.
"The bitch wasn't innocent! She owed the boss money. Probably was spending the money on shit instead of paying up," said Travis snarkily. Veronica smirked. She knew Maxwell was listening, and the idiot was only aggravating him more.
"Wrong," she said, flicking her wand to force Travis's head into the bucket.
"What were you planning for her?" asked Veronica in her husky voice as she walked behind Travis, a small needle slipping out from her robe. She injected it into Travis's neck. It had ben filled with a mild Truth Serum- not Veritaserum, but one compelling a person to say the first thing they thought- that she'd borrowed from Cassalina.
"We were planning to beat her and take whatever stuff we could," said Travis immediately.
"Naughty boy," said Veronica, dunking his head.
"Was she pretty?" asked Veronica, surprising Travis.
"She was a stupid looking bimbo," snarled Travis.
As Veronica dunked Travis's head into the water, she heard the screams behind her stop. Maxwell was ready.

(( Oh man, Travis is reaaaally asking for it...))
Maxwell went to the others and gently poked them with the special needles. He smirked at their confused expressions. The types of needles he used were special because their design came from the 18th Centurary. The needles, made from pure magic, would sink inside the skin of anyone he targeted. And within a matter of minutes, a small pain would start to form in the spot it sunk in. From there, the pain would increase tenfold, until it became unbearable. But Travis' mouth made it impossible for him to enjoy this subtle revenge. Furious, he poured more magic into the needles, which created a hot, burning agony inside the victims in a second. The pain was so intense that it caused them to black out for the moment.

Eleazar was nervous. Which was quite understandable, given what was about to happen. He couldn't help but repeatedly glance at his sister who was in here own cubicle, muttering to herself over some papers in her own preparation. He didn't like the idea that Rosemarie was going. But her mentor seemed to think she was above ready, even though she technically had a few more months of training before she was a full auror. Shaking himself to clear his head, he followed his sister's example and began checking his own papers- maps of the Hogwarts grounds, books on various creatures and spells he could use against them.

"What are you idiots doing lying around! It's five minutes to go time, get the damned Portkey!" yelled out Chris to the Aurors sitting around. "Get on it! Move!"
The first and second portkey headed out with several Aurors attached. He looked grimly at his. He'd left a wordy letter to Rosebane about his death. Should he truly die today, he'd come back as a ghost and haunt Rosebane for his money.
Veronica looked behind her shoulder at the furious Maxwell. She raised Travis's arrogant head. He was glaring at her, his face furious. Water dripped over his head. Idiot. She smiled at him. Let him learn a lesson in pain. Let him feel what it felt to have a child, a loved, innocent one, attacked. Maybe then his arrogance would disappear.
"I'll fetch the other two. It looks like Headmaster Rosebane wants to play," she said with a smirk.
With that, she nodded to Maxwell, moving to get Vance and Mitch from their cells. If she hurried, they'd see their leader in immense pain before blacking out.((Travis isn't even going to be as bad as Vance, Vance would purposely aggravate ))

Rosemarie jumped up immediately at Christopher's warning. She scurried over to the portkey and made to grab it, biting her lip as she prepared for her first battle.
Eleazar followed suit and also grabbed a portkey.

(( Haunt Rosebane for his money? *snicker* I love Chris!))
It was difficult to do so, but Maxwell waited for Vernonica. Because they were getting to the meat of their plans, he figured he owed her. Instead, he opted for glaring coldly at Travis, his magic ready to burst from him at any moment. Oh, what he wouldn't give to be allowed to kill him! His magic demanded that all of Vosnik's men died a most horrific, painful death. He fished a bottle of a toxin he'd gotten from his mansion before coming here. The bottle was small and purple, and there was only half of the liquid inside. He grinned nastily.

Veronica sashayed back into the room, pleased to see Maxwell hadn't started yet. She deposited the two gagged morons on the floor.
"You waited! Always the gentleman! You deserve a treat," she said with a smirk, moving closer to Maxwell.
She lifted her head, and whispered into Maxwell's ear, "Vosnik was caught and detained. He's here and waiting for, questioning."
She then sauntered to Travis. She undid his bonds, while saying, "Let's see how well you thrash. It's so sexy to see a grown man squirm."
Her flirtatious tone was dropped for one of anger, despite her words.

I had entered the office early enough to see all the people preparing to leave for the Forbidden Forest. I hoped everyone would be all right and that there would be little to no casualties. However, I quickly banished it from my mind, intent on getting my latest bit of writing to the person who ran the columns. I wanted this one posted badly, and I also wanted the promotion from editor to actual journalist.

Maxwell smirked. "I didn't want you to miss the show, Veronica. This promises to be rather entertaining." He held out the bottle for her to see. "So, Vosnik is here? Well, I think this calls for a bit of a celebration, don't you?"
He then opened the bottle and moved closer toward Travis. First, he gently placed a needle on his forehead, putting very little of his magic into it.
"What the fuck are you doing to me?" Travis demanded angrily.
"Many things." he answered in response. "I won't kill any of you - how can you be sent to Azkaban otherwise? But that doesn't mean you won't be made to suffer." He dropped two drops of the potion on each of Travis' arms. "You'll feel very strange in a few minutes. I suggest you enjoy your sanity while it lasts."

Ever the theatrical one, Maxwell had made his point clear. Travis began to scream loudly. He thrashed, grabbing his head in pain. He clawed at his face, seeing a nightmare. His eyes rolled back in his head. His screams were deranged, and they turned to sobs. The nightmare had changed.
Veronica stared impassively. Travis lasted a straight ten minutes, before he was reduced to babbling mush. He was sobbing and crying and begging for mercy from something. Veronica had seen worse.
She turned to see a horrified Mitch. Vance was staring at the needle greedily. Fool. Oh yes, she'd break him for sure.
"Shall I take this one to play with while you deal with that?" she asked, pointing first to Vance then to Mitch. Yes, she was going to break Vance.
Alice couldn't believe her luck. Not only had her manager agreed to give her the week off, she was currently filling out the paperwork for Alice to get her salary in advance for the next two months. That was a solid 113 galleons. She couldn't believe her luck! Once she got her money, she decided to go towards the journalism department. She knew Brayden's office was near there, maybe Maxwell would be too.

Maxwell felt a great satisfaction in watching Travis turn from a man into a babbling pile of mush. A wild laugh escaped from him, seeing how far the man had fallen.
"Help yourself. I think he'll be fun for you to break." he said silkily. "Besides, Mitch and I have some unfinished business, don't we?" He removed Mitch's gag.
"You're a sick fuck! You can't get away with this! When everyone finds out what you did -!" Maxwell hit him with a Lung Shrinking curse, and watched in amusement as Mitch stopped breathing. He let it linger for three seconds.
"Ah, but this is completely sanctioned." he said, his grin becoming wider. "And even if it wasn't nobody would believe you."

Veronica sauntered to Vance, taking out his gag.
"You little bitch, why don't you give me your wand, think your all powerful, I'd have you screaming your guts out already if it were me," said Vance, spitting in her face.
Oh, he'd pay for that. Veronica wiped the spit away. This kind were best dealt with using pure torture. No games for him. A pity. Keeping silent, she raised her hand and struck Vance across the face with a slap. He laughed. She took her wand, and began using a bone crushing spell. The first thing he'd lose was the hearing in his left ear. She pictured the bones in his ear and began to crush them. He cried out in pain as his ear canal and nerves crumbled and blood poured out.
"Ha-Ha, that's all you got? All over one dumb bitch? Fucking whore and you act like we were getting the queen!" he said with a groan.
Veronica slapped him across the face again. Then she crushed his kneecap.
"Fuck! You absolute bitch! Oh I get it, she was your squeeze too! Did you and Mr. Fancy-pants share her?" he taunted.
Veronica continued again with a slap. She crushed his toes in his other foot next.
"Pathetic!" he screamed out, biting his lower lip in pain. "I would have done worse to the bimbo anyways. She owed money, and I would'a made sure to inflict a neat little scar all over that pretty fsce of hers. Let people know what Vosnik does to those who can't pay."
Again Veronica slapped him. This time though, She turned and nodded to Maxwell. Hecould have his revenge now. She was getting bored. The dumb kind were never fun to play with.

I exited the office, a huge grin plastered to my face. I had done it, I had just become a published writer (or at least soon to be published) Not only that, but I had been given the day off so I could clear out my old office to be transfered to my new one. The excitement in me was at a high, and I desperately needed to tell someone the good news. That's when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alice. I rushed over to her, beaming, and burst into a flood of chatter.
"You were right, all I needed was to trust myself. I just got promoted to being a columnist for the Daily Prophet. I can't believe my good luck. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have come up with such a wonderful idea and I woukd still be in editting. Thank you, thank you, thank you," I said, all in a flurry.

Alice was caught by surprise as Violet rounded at her with a beaming smile. As she listened to Violet's words, she couldn't help but smile widely at the other girl.
"That's absolutely wonderful! I'm so happy for you!" she gushed, "What's your column called? I want to read it for sure! What's it about?"

"It is called 'Social Interactions in the Workplace and Beyond' and as you can probably tell by the name, it is all about how people socialize. I thought about it just before I left the lunchroom the other day, and I wouldn't have if I hadn't met you and Maxwell there," I stated, still ecstatic. "But enough about me, how are you?" I asked, because I had just noticed that Alice had a slightly pale palour about her today, thst wasn't there yesterday.

"I'm alright. Tired, I had a long night last night. I got the week off though, I guess that counts for something," said Alice pleasantly.

Maxwell turned his attention from Mitch and glared coldly at Vance. Without warning or pause, he unleashed pure magic at him. It wasn't a spell in particular, more like a deep desire for the man to suffer. And suffer he did. The magic itself wasn't visible, but its effects were.
He felt a savage thrill from twisting and contorting Vance before him, turning the goon into a grotesque version of himself, barely human and living in a constant state of pain. It lasted several minutes before Maxwell found himself unable to stop. It felt too good, the screams were far too melodic...
((Maxwell won't be able to snap out of this on his own. Heehee))
