Alice let Eleazar's words wash over her. It felt good to believe his words. She wanted happiness. She wanted to just let someone take care for her. She didn't want to have to worry anymore. Her tears slowed down, and finally she felt like she was calm again.
"Thank you, Eleazar, for being here, for being my friend, we are friends right?" she asked, a part of her irrationally nervous that he wouldn't want to have anything to do with her.

"Definitely." Eleazar agreed, "Don't you ever think otherwise."

Alice smiled. Her first smile of the night since her friendly date with Maxwell.
"Thank you," she said, "What happens now?"
"Give me the exact location and a little support, and I'll have him flushed out within a week, less even. He's complacent nowadays, and if he's in Norway, I can have him pulled out and shipped here. Of course he'll be questioned, and tried. I plan to interrogate him myself before the case. I suggest Octavius lead it, he's always had the right mind. Would you care to join the interrogations? After the battle or during. I'm sure that few will mind, and I can arrange it for you for our friendship. You can feel free to ask questions," said Chris, murmuring this as he began looking around the apartment.
"This place is a crime scene, so I'll board it up, a few well-placed Obliviations and wards, and she can be removed and the muggles won't disturb it. Where will the girl be moved?" aaked Chris.
He suspected Rosebane had an idea already. The man always had a plan.

(( Sorry I didn't reply right away. I fell asleep at the computer))
"I would enjoy being part of the interrogations, and yes, any support you need will be given." He paused thoughtfully. "As for where Alice will stay... I believe that Cassalina's house would be best. She's... better equipped to take care of someone than I am."

Chris nodded.
"Very well, I think we're done here. I'll leave the keys in my office tomorrow. Interrogate them as you please, the Aurors will be busy as it is. I can't promise Vladmir, but with a bit of prompting on my side, Norway will have him as soon as possible, most likely tomorrow evening if I'm motivated enough to prompt them," said Chris.
((aww, does that mean your leaving?))

((Nah. I was just too warm because I didn't have the AC on))
Maxwell smirked in spite of himself. "Very well, I'll be at the office first thing tomorrow morning. I have a lot of questions for them. As for your motivation, I hope that you'll be at your best."

Chris smirked as he responded, "Of course, for our friendship, I'll be quick. Bellard! Get in here and bring the lady as well, we're done here."
((yay!))

Eleazar glanced at Alice while calling back, "Yes, Sir!" Then he got up and entered the living room.
"What's going to happen to Alice?" He questioned.

"I'm going to have you stay at my friend's place for a while." he said to Alice, trying not to sound commanding. "Cassalina is a Potions Master, works from home, and is very easy to talk to. She loves visitors and guests, so I'm sure she'll be more than happy to take you in. Would that be alright with you?"

Alice had planted herself slightly behind Eleazar and as blose to him as possible for comfort's sake. It was much easier hovering near Eleazar. She looked around her house until she heard Maxwell's suggestion.
"Will she be alright? I don't even have many proper clothes since I threw them around my house," said Alice nervously.
Chris rolled his eyes. Meek and shy women were so boring. Granted she'd been through tough times, but he suspected that Alice was naturally like that.
"I have a report to work on and preparations to make. Bellard, I expect you to be prompt tomorrow. Do leave a report on my desk of your interview. If you die tomorrow, I would hate not having proper paper work. I'll send a team to fix this place up, good night Maxwell, Bellard. And I'm sorry about your home, Miss Alice, I assure you I'll do my best to help."
And with that, he left, not waiting for a response from anyone. He had deals to make and bribes to complete for a hefty bonus. A glass of gin never hurt either. At least tonight had proved interesting.

Maxwell smiled kindly at her. "You don't have to worry about a thing, Alice. She will have proper clothes for you for the time being. Plus, knowing her, she's going to want to dress you up." He snickered at that. "She's very fond of finding fashionable clothes for people." He motioned at his robes, which were green and black. "These were her idea, not mine."

Alice looked a bit apprehensive still. However, if this Cassalina was vouched for by Maxwell, she didn't see the harm. She didn't mind being dressed up by a stranger. If she was willing to keep Alice, she could do her up as she pleased.
"I guess it sounds alright," began Alice, looking at Eleazar. She valued his opinion, and if he thought it was a good idea too, she'd feel more comfortable.

Eleazar saw Alice looking toward him and he gave a brief nod. He didn't know Cassalina personally, but he had heard of her skill as a potions master and that she was fairly kind. Anyways, after what Maxwell had done, he didn't think he could really say anything bad about Maxwell's friends in front of him.

Maxwell smiled. "It is settled then! You'll be in the best of hands, Alice." he nodded toward Eleazar. "Thank you for coming. I appreciate your help."

Alice moved away from Eleazar towards Maxwell. She turned and gave Eleazar a smile, "Thank you for coming here tonight. And please don't die tomorrow like your boss said, I'd miss you."
She wondered if her worry was extremely evident in her eyes as she said this, but in her tired state, she found herself saying much more liberal, silly things.

Maxwell gave Eleazar a grim look. "I wish you all the best for tomorrow. Be safe, and come back alive." He then looked to Alice. "Is there anything you'll need?"

Alice looked around. Pretty much everything was destroyed. What coukd posssibly be salvaged?
"Just my childhood photos," she said. "I can summon the album. Accio Album!"
The large book landed in her arms. She was pleased to see it wasn't injured in anyway, just beaten up. She may be angry with her parents now, but she knew she'd forgive them sooner or later.

Yet again, Maxwell found himself bothered by how much Alice lacked. Inwardly, he decided that was going to change. "If that is all, shall we head to the limo? It's a long drive, and I don't think either of us would be up to Apparation at this time."

As if on cue, Alice yawned. She covered her mouth with her hand, and nodded in agreement.
"That's all, and I don't mind a drive, though I doubt I'd be up for too much conversation," she said with a nod. "Goodbye Eleazar, and good luck!"

It was on that note that they left behind the old, ruined apartment. Maxwell mentally made a list of things that would need to be handled, which included damages to the apartment, the whole Vosnik mess, and any other bad connections that would only harm Alice. But for now, what worried him more was helping her overcome her ordeal, and let her know that she wouldn't be alone. It would also be nice if she could relax around him, but Maxwell knew that it would take time.
"Sorry for the trouble, Jenkins." he apologized, once they reached the limo.
The driver chuckled. "Oh, trust me, it was no trouble at all, Mr. Rosebane. An old man needs a little excitement once in a while."
"Indeed."
Maxwell held the door open for Alice and smiled warmly at her. "It's a long drive, so feel free to fall asleep."

Alice nodded. She slipped into the limousine and leanee back. Tonight had just been so, wild. She didn't know where or what she was doing with her life anymore. The house was wrecked, and just buying a new home would cost her so much money. Not to mention the clothes and books that she'd have to replace.
"What is Cassalina like?" asked Alice aloud to Maxwell.

"She's a wonderful person to be around." he said, after taking his seat and closing the door. "Someone that can be confided in, or someone to simply pass the time with." He laid his head against the window, feeling a bit of cool relief on his sore cheek. He smiled fondly. "She won't push someone unless it'll help them, and she's very patient - you'd have to be to be a Potions Master."
"Cassalina is the sister I've never had, and I'm grateful for her every day."

Aloce nodded. She still felt incredibly nervous, but as the limo started to move, she wiped away her worries. She just didn't try to think anymore. Her album which was being held against her chest stayed there as she leaned back into the chair. Her eyes began to droop, and instead of fighting sleep, she let her eyes shut, and slowly, her arms fell. The album slipped into her lap and then fell off, opening up as it fell. Alice's head tumbled to her right, away from the door as she slept.
The album that had fallen to the ground had opened to two pictures. The first was Alice as a little girl, maybe six or seven, standing on a large rock and waving to the camera with a smile on her face. The second was her at age seventeen, blowing out the candles on her cake. Alice wouldn't see the pictures or know about the album as she slept.

Maxwell picked up the album, knowing that it had meant a lot to her - it wouldn't do for it to be beaten up even more. Curiosity getting the better of him, he cast a weak Lumos and looked at the two pictures it had opened to.
She looks so...happy. he thought sadly. It's rather scary, how things change so abruptly. Not wanting to invade her privacy, he canceled the spell and carefully set the book down. As they drive continued, Maxwell also found himself lulled into sleep's sweet embrace.

Alice was having the most wonderful dream. She was seventeen again, it was her birthday. Everybody was happy, and laughter and cheer ran in the air. There was nothing to be afraid off. She danced, and sang, and laughed. She laughed quite a bit.
As she slept, she never noticed the limosine come to a stop.

Maxwell awoke as soon as the limo stopped, startled by the sudden lack of motion.
"We're here, sir." Jenkins said, stifling a yawn.
"Thank you, Jenkins. Will you be joining us?"
"No, I'd better be getting home. I'm sure Linda will be horribly worried by now."
"In that case, rest well." he said, tiredly. "I'm giving you tomorrow off."
"Will do, sir. Thank you."
Maxwell got out of the car and walked to the other side. Alice had yet to wake up, and looked far too peaceful to disturb. He cracked his neck and gently lifted her up. In truth, Alice was rather light, so carrying her wasn't a task at all. He closed the door very gently, to keep her from being startled by the sound.
"Goodnight, Jenkins."
"Good night, Mr. Rosebane."
And with that, Jenkins drove off, leaving them standing in the gravel driveway.
The house itself wasn't anywhere near as luxurious as his mansion, but that was one of the things Maxwell loved about it. A big, white house, with a vibrant herb garden in front. Even with the small amount of moonlight available, it had a warm, welcoming feel to it.
-----
Cassalina had been asleep when she'd gotten the call from Jenkins' Patronus. At hearing that Maxwell had been attacked, she'd awoken at once and sat in her living room, worried to death. She'd been told that the damage wasn't serious, but that didn't ease her heart at all. In order to pass the time, she had started to read through a good muggle classic - Dracula. But even the brilliant words of Bram Stoker wasn't enough.
Slowly but surely, the minutes ticked by, and the doorbell rang. At once, she bolted to the door and opened it. Only to find one of the most unusual sights she would ever see. He's actually carrying her? she thought incredulously. The sight was rather shocking, considering that Maxwell wasn't one to show physical affection.
She meant to welcome him back, but the words wouldn't come. "Is that her?" she blurted out in spite of herself. Maxwell nodded, looking oddly subdued. Actually, it was much more than that. He showed all the apparent signs of being in a fight. And was that a bruise on his cheek?
"Well why don't you put her to bed in the spare bedroom? Afterwords, the two of us can have a cup of tea and a nice, long chat."
