This is just a reminder that you should always keep your fics backed up even if you've posted them on here. You should keep them backed up on your own machine and on a flash drive, an external hard drive, and/or an online site such as Dropbox, Skydrive, or Google Docs.
If you don't have a flash drive, then know that flash drives these days are cheap. Look around on Amazon or a similar site, you can probably find one that's at least 4 or 8 GB for less then $10.
Alternatively, you can use one of those online services
I personally recommend Dropbox because it allows you to backup 2 GB of files (to start with), and you can back them up live. That's to say that as you save your fic backups, they'll automatically be uploaded to Dropbox. It does require installing some software, but I view it as worth it. If you join through a referral (such as the last 2 dropbox links in this paragraph), then you'll get a free extra 500 MB when you join and install the software. That should be plenty of space for all of your Fanfic backup needs with plenty of room to spare. If search for it, there's even a portable version of dropbox out there for if you want to have dropbox on your flash drive (I do this, too). It's saved me a ton of hassle in my life. But I'm getting off topic...
I've never personally used Microsoft's Skydrive, but I do know that you get a couple of GB with a Live/hotmail email account, so if you have one of those, you should consider this.
In Google Docs, you can simply copy and paste the text from your story document and save it that way. It'll even save the formatting. This way is likely best if you don't want to bother with installing software.
Regardless, feel free to choose whatever you want (though you know my preference ), but if you don't back your fics up in at least 2 places (more is better, always), then you're just asking to lose them in an accident, and then where will you be?
