What other books series/authors do you like to read?
Currently, I'm reading Tom Clancy novels, reading "The Cardinal of the Kremlin."
I'm also a big fan of Star Wars novels with my favorite SW novels being "The Thrawn Trilogy" by Timothy Zahn.

I'm currently rereading The Da Vinci Code, then I'll start reading Angels & Demons and then The Lost Symbol. I love Dan Brown's work. I'm also a huge fan of Nejka Omahen's works - she's a Slovenian author that writes amazing stories!

I read almost exclusively fanfiction, but when I do read other books, it's usually one of David Weber's Honor Harrington books, Robert Jordan's WoT books, or a Tom Clancy novel (I really like Executive Orders and its prequel and sequel).

I used to like Tom Clancy when he wrote about the Cold War, but with the exception of Rainbow Six, he's really really bad at writing about other global events, particularly his Debt of Honor/Executive Orders/The Bear and the Dragon trilogy. I liked them enough when I was younger, but he has a pretty bad grasp of foreign affairs and motives.

True, I'm also an almost exclusive FanFic reader ever since I found fanfiction. But I still read other books sometimes. That's how I found Percy Jackson books and Dan Brown's works.

Apart from fanfiction and HP, I really love the Dark Heavens Trilogy by Kylie Chan (up until recently it was only published in Australia but is starting to make it's way into the UK and maybe US?).
It's about Asian Gods and martial arts mixed with a type of energy-based magic and demons. SU-HUPER cool!

Apart from fanfic, I enjoy Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien, Matthew Reilly, James Patterson, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Enid Blyton, and The Canterbury Tales by Geoffery Chaucer. I love all the pre 1950's detective stories- Maltese Falcon etc; the Alex Rider series, by Anthony Horowitz and CHERUB series by Robert Muchamore I used to enjoy as a teen and sometimes enjoy re-reading them. Treasure Island (RL Stevenson), anything by Mark Twain, Dracula, 1984, some of Anne Rice's retellings of fairy tales, Hans Christian Anderson and Grimm Bros fairy tales, many of the novel/ stories from the original Gothic era- Edgar Allen Poe for example. Umm there's probably a few more but nothing I can think of right now.

I'm a Christian and I love books by Robin Jones Gunn, Frank Perretti, Karen Kingsbury Francine Rivers, Lori Wick and Jesus Freaks series. I also LOVE the books that says "brides" in it, they are Christian romance stories and usually are three or four small stories, each is a different girl and sometimes the girls are related in some way. (e.g. California Brides, Alabama Brides, Renaissance Brides, Brides of Mexico, ect.)
I also like Jodi Picoult, Nicholas Sparks, C. S. Lewis, J. K. Rowling, Suzanne Collins and the books Moby Dick and Wuthering Heights. I used to read Twilight, but the movies ruined it and I don't have the desire to read them anymore.

There was one book I read when I was younger that I would love to find and read again called The Sight which was about a pack of wolves, one of which I think was a seer. Don't remember the plotline too well but it had a sequel Fell. Those were pretty good. I've read the Twilight Saga, Inheritence Cycle, Some of the Wolf Brother series, Darren Shan series and some of his Demonata series but I grew out of them. Chinese Cinderella I read years ago and now I can't rind it anywhere to reread it.

Book series? Well, I read Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. And I'm fond of Jonathan Howard's "Johannes Cabal" series. Other than that, though, the content of my bookshelf is very much patchwork.

J.R.R. Tolkien, Charlotte MacLeod, Rita Mae Brown and Dorothy L. Sayers are some people I can always read and re-read. And the earlier Diana Gabaldons. Otherwise, I just pick this and that, often not a particularly author, but based on the story.

The Harlan Coben books do have a series I read . They were the Myron Bolitair series. That's the book series that got me into mystery.

Outside of fanfiction, I like to read the Twilight series, Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson series, Kate Daniels series, Argenaeu series, Chronicles of Prydain series, and the Night Huntress series. For independent books, I like almost anything by Christina Dodds, Victoria Alexander, Susanne Enock, Jude Deveraux, Lindsay Sands, Jeaniene Frost, and Katie MacAlister.
Oh, and one of my favorite books to read a lot is Girl, Interrupted by Suzanne Kaysen.

I really enjoyed Orson Scott Card's "Ender" series. Starts with "Enders game" really good sci-fi. Read it in High school and have loved it ever since. I like quite a few of the authors already mentioned so I'm not going to repeat them, but I didn't see this one. I also like the Sherlock holms series.

Outside of fanfiction, I read classics like those of Jane Austen, and I also love murder mysteries, primarily Kathy Reichs, the hit forensic anthropologist that inspired the show Bones on Fox, It starts With Deja Dead, I believe. Other than that, I like to pick up individual books if they look interesting, and there are so many works that I have yet to read. The Lauren Kate series I have yet to read, so I don't know if it actually good or not, but it looks interesting.

Starting to read the Dune series.
Also, anything by Alan Moore that I can get my hands on. The man's a genius, albeit a dark one. Wait, do comic books count? Because they're kind of my obsession at the moment.

Has anyone else read the 30 Days of Night book adaptations? For a former comic book series, these books are quite chilling. The Twilight vamps wouldn't stand a chance against these monsters.

I never managed to get very far in Dracula. The writing style just... well it just wasn't my style^^
Have you guys ever heard of 'Crusade in Jeans'? (It's actually a Dutch book but it's a great read.)
About not my style: I sometimes really wonder how people can like Twilight, but that's just me... I'm more of the fantasy/gore/ adventure type of person.

My mum just bought the Hunger Games series all for just £5. I will bet around to reading them eventually but it probably won't be for a while.
