Hey,
I know I said I'd do some stuff back on Thursday/Friday about registrations and non-RtB stories and such that I haven't done yet. Sorry they're taking so long, but RL's taken a turn for the extremely busy real fast this weekend. I have a big term paper due on Friday which is going to consume my life this week, along with all my other regular work for classes. So yea, I probably won't be around much this week and the chances of me doing much work on the forum is nil.
That said, I'll still take PM requests for non-RtB forums and other such things, but I don't promise that they'll be taken care of in my usual timely manner.

That's fine. Take all the time you need. Things seemed to have calmed down a bit right now anyway. I think, everyone is busy organising their new publishing venues.  Or writing their next chapter... (Still 5 pages to go. *sigh*) |

Don't worry, we all still can access the boards, and that's the most important thing. If a few newbies have to wait a little bit longer to sign up, I don't think that's a huge problem. And as Ithiarel said, at the moment things are rather calm. We all need to recover from the current events. Besides, usually we are rather well-behaved  Good luck on your paper, and I hope RL isn't stressing you out too much. |

You're welcome. And I know how that is. The library I am working for is moving, we had the last opening day yesterday, after that the real fun can start - books are so far in three houses, who have to be put into the new one, move all the offices and staff, complete restructuring of the staff, re-classification of thousands of books ... it's going to be a madhouse. Even at home I keep thinking about what needs to be done. And that doesn't even count the normal RL stuff ...
So, I will probably not be online as much as usual over the next weeks, but I'll check in whenever I can.

What's the big paper about? Maybe some of us could help with ideas if you want. The topic's still TBD, though I have a pretty good general idea of what to write about. Also, the paper is supposed to be a 9-10 page proposal for dealing with an issue affecting my university campus. So unless anybody here goes to Texas A&M, I don't think that anybody here can help too much. Right now I'm just working on gathering research and making a survey, perhaps. The writing will probably commence in a couple days once I get some other work that's due first out of the way. |

look through the paper archives to spot potential topics. look at the past year to see if any issues stand out to you. just a sugestion.

Alright guys, paper's all turned in and it looks like it came out well. the summer's all downhill from here, except that school starts again in 3 weeks, but oh well, c'est la vie
My brain's mush right now, so I'm gonna take a day for myself and try to get myself kicked back into gear sometime this weekend.

Enjoy the break, it sounds as if you really need it! Have a nice lazy weekend, do just what you enjoy or nothing at all, and enjoy yourself!

I'm not too worried at this point; it's for a community college class while I'm used to working up the standards of the big-school profs so I think it'll turn out well. Only reason I'm taking the course is 'cause I need the credit for graduation; it doesn't really have any bearing on my degree.

Yea, of course it is. I pride myself on my 4.0 GPA.... at the community college. lol Anyway, RL has swept me up once again and as I type this, I am packing to move back to school where my free-time will be at a low once again, and for a much longer period of time. I'm debating about possible courses of action, but for the time being, I'm gonna open up registration once again; I think things have calmed down enough. I'm still going leave the board closed off the board to unregistered people, though. Also, I intend to appoint another admin to help out (if my permissions let me get away with it, otherwise I'll have to drag Point back here to fix that ) unless Point is still around here to object of course. No, I don't know who yet, and you shouldn't bother asking to be one - it'll lower your chances if anything. My intent is that whoever the new admin ends up being will take ahold of some of those projects we were discussing the other week and actually do them. As for me, I intend to lurk for the foreseeable future. When I have free time, I'll probably pop onto IRC and maybe unlurk if I see an interesting topic. It's hard to say what the future will hold. That being said, I think I will still have enough free time to fill requests for some things. I always see PMs - if you need to get ahold of me, that's an almost surefire way. So... yea, I think that's it. I'll see y'all around. |

Have to second Ithiarel - don't forget to have some fun in between the school stress! As for the boards, I'll just wait and see what you come up with, and how frequently you'll pay us a visit to say hi. (Hopefully on a more or less regular basis ) |

to be quite honest, I *do* have a tendency to underestimate the amount of free time I'll have, so it's possible that I'll be around a bit more than I made it sound. It'll still be nice to have a bit of help though.

Won't complain if you underestimated it again Yeah, with a board this size, an extra admin can be useful. At the moment it's quiet, but when everyone is posting like crazy, it's hard to keep up with everything and an eye on what is going on. And as Point Given doesn't have much time, you're quite alone with it. That's not even counting any ideas for changes we come up with ... |
