Hey I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with flagfic.com? I just used it last night and all was fine but today it seems to be having a problem downloading from ff.net. I haven't tried any of the other sites but it seems a bit weird that it is doing this all of the sudden.

Was using it only about a hour ago. It was slower than usual, and did work a bit differently (the link box cleared after the download, the chosen format didn't stay, either, the page showed a different text), but it did work. According to their homepage, they added download from AO3 today, so that might have caused the problems?

Don't know but everytime I tried it took me to a processing page for a second then it sent back to the homepage. I waited up to two minutes for the story to download but it did nothing the three times I tried to download a fic. Hope the owner can tell me what is wrong with the site soon.

Just tried again, I could download a story with over 135,000 words in less than a minute. What format do you use? PDF works fine for me.

Strange. Just tried it, it downloaded just fine for me. Do you want me to e-mail you the pdf?

Nope, I just used my firefox browser and it went through just fine. I guess IE9 is being wonky to flagfic right now. Instead of taking me to the download page it skipped and took me back to the homepage like I pressed refresh. Thanks anyway, I'll tell the owner about this if it continues.

You're welcome! I am using Safari on a Mac, so that might actually be browser-related. Checking that sort of thing on different pcs sometimes helps to get a better idea where the problem might be.

Yeah, that thought just crossed my mind when I was trying to download again but with a different site instead of ff.net. I should have know that IE9 was the problem since it is one of the buggiest browsers out there.

There's a very good reason why I refuse to use IE in the first place. At work I had initially, but after it kept messing up certain websites nearly beyond recognition, I finally got Firefox there. Since then, I haven't touched the IE again

I don't touch IE either. I had never heard of Firefox until my Dad told me about it, and when I first tried it, I found it so easy to use that I wish I could get rid of the version of IE that my laptop came with.

Yeah, I think I'm going to make the switch soon enough since IE9's freezing issues are starting to piss me off recently. It's like if you open more then four tabs the whole webpage freezes to the point you can't close the thing until the program runs out of time.

Would recommend to switch under these circumstances, too. At home I am using Safari and Firefox as backup browser and to test if problems are browser-related, and I am much happier with both than I ever was with IE.
Squid, why do you not just download Firefox and use it instead of IE?

I do use Firefox, but my laptop came with IE, which I don't use. I just wish I could get rid of it completely, but I can't as far as I know.

On my PC, I know how to delete programmes, but not on Window computers, so I can't help there, sorry. Though theoretically, it should be possible.

Ah, I tried doing that on my old laptop and it almost crashed. I then had to go to the computer repair shop and spend $120 to fix it.

Oh ... that's a bit extreme ... did Microsoft build in something to prevent people going to their competition?

Yeah, better not try a round two against IE9. If I just leave it alone I'll be fine with little to no frustration in the end.
