"Start? The floors I suppose," she said, still frowning. "But this isn't confirmed yet! Arthur, my husband's already getting suspicious of where my money's going! I don't like this one bit! What if the kid reveals to him that I've been sleeping around with you and paying you to boot?!"
Athur swallowed, upset that Timmy had to here that, "Timmy won't say anything, and he's been hired by your husband."
"I don't trust children," she said, throwing Timmy a sneer.
"Why don't we go upstairs, and discuss it?" he asked.
"And the kid, what can you do?" she questioned Timmy.

Timmy wanted to sneer back, and only the thought of not getting paid kept him from doing otherwise. He really, really hated this woman. And what did she mean by sleeping around? He gave Arthur a questioning look before addressing her once more. "I can do floors, windows, walls, and clean places that most adults can't reach. And I know plenty of cleaning spells. I'll have the place tidy in no time, promise." He offered her his best smile, the dread growing.

"Fine, do what you like, just clean the lower levels, and I'll know if you take anything!" snapped Priscilla. "And you owe me for this Arthur, let's go."
"I'll join you, why don't you set up?" said Arthur.
"Fine," she said, glaring again at Timmy before heading upstairs.
"I'm sorry, Priscilla's a difficult person," said Arthur to Timmy, "Will you be okay?"

Timmy nodded. "I've dealt with worse." was his simple reply. And with that, he went down to the basement, in order to start cleaning. Today was going to be a long, long day.

Arthur sighed as he moved upstairs, guilty to leave Timmy behind. He moved to the familiar guest room he and Priscilla used during his stay. She was sitting on the bed, looking put out. He gave her a raised eyebrow as he approached her by the bed.
"This has really stressed me out Arthur," she said with a pout.
He moved to sit beside her, and began massaging her shoulders as he replied, "I can make it up to you."
"You had better," she said, giving a moan as she moved her head to sllow him better access.
"How long do we have?" he asked softly.
"An hour," she replied, and then she took his head and kissed him.
----
After the hour was up, Arthur got out of the bed, and began putting his clothes back on. Priscilla lay under the sheets, panting. Again, Arthur remembered the first time he'd propositioned her. It had been cold, and Priscilla was carrying home her groceries. The idea had come to him from a newspaper article, and his odd arrangement with Amanda.
He'd offered to carry her groceries to her house. He'e been so nervous back then. Once they'd arrived, he'd offered to do more chores. That arrangement started, and he worked for a few days. Eventually, he'd gained the courage to offer her a massage, and things escalated from there. After that, things had settled.
"The usual?" he asked.
"Less, because of the boy," said Priscilla.
"I'll be downstairs," he said, moving downstairs.

Impressively, Timmy was able to clean the entire basement, the living room and kitchen within an hour. As it turned out, the place wasn't anywhere near as bad as Mr. Barnes claimed - then again, people tended to be lazy. A few charms and some elbow grease were all that he needed to get all three rooms sparkling like new. He waited for Arthur to return, and hoped that Priscilla was pleased with his work.

Arthur climbed downstairs, uncertain how to face Timmy. He'd never felt any kind of shame before, but something about facing the kid made him ashamed. He sighed, and put on his brave face front.
"Timmy!" he called out, looking for the kid. His groceries sat by the door, untouched.

"Yes, Arthur?" Timmy asked, as he sat at the kitchen table. He hadn't touched anything, but he longed for something to drink. And to be out of this place.

"There you are!" said Arthur, relieved as he approached the kid. "So, was everything alright? I hope you weren't bored."

Timmy wiped the sweat off his brow. "No, not at all! I just finished! So, did you have fun with your lady friend?"

"Er-
How was Arthur supposed to answer that!? He looked down at the kid's innocent expression, and doubted he understood the full implications in that sentence. He tried smiling, only to end up grimacing.
"Arthur!" called out Priscilla, coming downstairs in a white robe, her hair tied back now, "What are you still doing here? Ian will be back in the next ten minutes! He can't catch you here!"
"Right, want to walk to the gates with me Timmy?" he asked, not wanting to leave the boy behind without a goodbye.

Timmy couldn't help but be relieved. So he wasn't going to be left here? "Okay!" He followed Arthur happily to the gate, feeling very hopeful.

Arthur gave Timmy a nod. He grabbed the groceries, and turned to Priscilla.
"Well?" he asked.
"Oh, right!" she said, and grabbed her purse. She fished out a hundred galleons, and tossed them into his grocery bag. "Now go!"
"Come on Timmy, you can walk me to the gate," he said, heading out the door.

"It's a lot better than I'm used to." Timmy agreed, his smile dropping just a bit. "I'm not sure I like Mrs. Barnes much, though. But, I don't know her that well anyway."

"She's alright, takes some getting used to," said Arthur, as they reached the gate. "Look, if anything happens, I live up the field near the shelter, just follow the path. This place will be good for you, Timmy."

Timmy's stomach dropped. So he was being left here. But, Arthur was trying to help. Maybe Priscilla wasn't as bad as he thought. Who knows, she might be nicer to him now that she saw how clean he made. Boilstered just a bit, and by the knowledge that he didn't have to live in a hole. "Thank you, Arthur." he said, smiling as much as he could. "Can we hang out again, sometime?"

"No problem," said Arthur, giving the kid a rare smile. He'd smiled more with this kid than in the past year. He left Timmy at the gate, and began walking back to his house. Grandma would be up soon, and he needed to make lunch. He noticed Mr. Barnes walking on the other side of the street, and kept his head down. Without a second interruption, he reached his house.

"Hello, Mr. Barnes!" Timmy greeted. He ignored him. Instead, Ian stormed straight passed him, an angry gleam in his eyes.
"Priscilla!" he raged, as he entered the house. Worried, Timmy followed.

"What is it dear?" asked Priscilla, bored. Probably just another moment of his paltry miserly ways.

Timmy watched from the living room, as Ian's face turned an angry shade of red. "I knew something was going on, but now I have proof!" he snarled. "I work hard every day, and for what? To find out that my wife is a two-bit floozy!" He threw a few pictures on the table. "And with Arthur, of all people?" he ground out. Timmy froze. Arthur? "My mother was right about you!"

"Ian!" said Priscilla in shock, staring at the pictures. Dammit! "Arthur means nothing to me, I love you! I swear it was a one time thing! He got me drunk, and-and forced me! Please Ian, you have to believe me! I love you!"
She began to tear up, hoping it would salvage her marriage.

"Bullshit!" he bellowed, knocking a random glass off of the table. "Arthur isn't the only man-whore you've hired! Three men, Priscilla! Three fucking men have been in OUR BED! What do you have to say for yourself?"
Timmy gaped at them, wide-eyed. Oh Merlin...

"I-I-
What could she say, she'd been caught red-handed. From the weak wife, her demeanor changed, and she became frosty and angry. If this marriage was over, she wasn't going down that easily.
"So what then? Your never home anyways! I have needs! So what if I'm screwing Arthur?! Or three men?! All you do is work work work! I deserve a man who flatters me and keeps my bed warm when your not around! I deserve it!!" she yelled back.

Ian glared at her. "All I've ever done was try to earn money for YOUR expensive lifestyle! Caviar and fancy dinner parties don't come cheap! All I do is work, work, work so that you can live how you want to! But nooo, that's not good enough!" He kicked the table over. "Well screw this! I'm done!" And with that, he stormed off, nearly knocking Timmy over in the process.

Priscilla was trembling in rage as Ian walked out. She headed to the kitchen and uncorked the cooking wine. Her luxury days were over. She moved back to where the pictures were, and glared hatefully. Dammit! How was she going to get Ian back?! She'd ruined everything, and it had all started with that damned Arthur! Then she saw the boy Arthur brought in, and she felt even angrier.
"What are you doing here still?" she hissed, "What, think you can freeload here? Your a trouble-bringer you ungrateful brat!"
She grabbed the pictures and threw them at the boy, "Get out! Get out you stupid mangy mutt! I bet your one of Arthur's kind! Stupid filthy idiot!"

Timmy was frozen with fear. He had never had so much hatred directed at him by a single person before. Confused and hurt, he backed up against the door, wondering what he had done wrong. Where was he going to go? What was he going to do? Arthur obviously didn't want him staying at his place...so where should he be? He couldn't go back to his hole, if Arthur caught him there, he'd worry...
"I-I" he stammered, finding that all his pleas and words were caught in his throat.
