Lovely collection! Who cares about age, btw? If you want to have it and enjoy playing with it, then I don't see a reason why you shouldn't. That reminds me of my friend - she was recently ranting because she made the mistake of buying her youngest the Lego Shelob set (the giant spider in LotR, something like the Acromantulas of HP) bespite being rather arachnophobic herself. She said normally the Lego stuff looks silly, but that spider looked not silly, but too real. And now Youngest keeps carrying it around and sitting it down close to his mum - who isn't happy at all about it and freaking out about the spider close by, lol. Now I wonder, is there a Lego Aragog as well? If that's looking as real as Shelob, you'd should think hard about getting it

she thinks Lego is silly? o.O how could anyone think of Lego as silly?! used to love it as a kid, and now these HP ones made me love making them again XD I'll admit that I'm also buying these not just for the HP part, but I found my love for making them again! there's an Aragog there, in the Hagrid's Hut set. with little spider children as well. I bet your friend would love that

Lego is good imagination for all ages. The older you are, you just need to get into the mind of a child and complete let go for a few hours. You can be surprised what you can do in that time . It's also good for people who have disabilties (of all ages) as it helps them with co-ordination.

No, it's not Lego itself she found silly, but some of the special pieces who looked more silly than real. Shelob was just the exception to the rulel Oh, I suspect Aragog and his children wouldn't be any more welcome than Shelob was *snicker*

I would kill for any of those sets! When me and my brother were younger, we had an entire crate full of the stuff, but unfortunately no Harry potter sets! I never really played with it as such, I was obsessed with setting it all up, creating the back stories and whatever, so b y the time I was finished we had to pack it away again, we never actually did the playing part whennimwas there : my brother used to sneak it away when I wasn't looking so that he could actually play with it.
To be fair, the spiders do look pretty realistic, they'd probably creep me out too :

Lego brand + Harry Potter brand= killer golden price T.T I feel like you pay more for the brand names than the pieces themselves actually I used to enjoy making them and playing with them when I was a kid. now, I just love making them. I mean, how many people can say "I've made a Hogwarts castles!", right? even if it's just in Lego XD these sets are now just displayed and not played with. sounds to me like you and your brother were the team, you make them and he plays with them

Of course you pay mostly for the brand names. Otherwise the price would probably be only 50% or less ... I know it is the same with food, you pay much more for the same product when it's a "big name" brand, not a no-name product - even if it's made and packed in the same place.

Those Legos look cool. I wish I could afford to get the Harry Potter Legos as I'd love to build some of those scenes.

I mean they also have Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc... Those Legos look cool. I think the ones you have there are cheaper than ours here? and I've gotten a couple of them with discounts, maybe you can find toy shops that have on sale or something

Ooh. Fun. I never played much with Lego, when I was younger. I liked the persons, but not to build that much. That was my brother's job! But I could really see myself build something in Harry Potter. My youngest brother simply loves Lego, so it's fun to help him build/do the building thing for him.

*snicker* Yes, there are LotR sets as well, to the misfortune of my friend Well, when I was still at the Lego age, there were no special sets available, so I missed out on that.

The Hagrid's Hug is about $35, Quidditch Match is $20, the little Hogwarts is $45, with a regular Hogwarts being over $100. Someday, I'll probably buy a set or two. *snicker* Yes, there are LotR sets as well, to the misfortune of my friend I recently got a small LotR (Gandalf, his wagon with fireworks, and Frodo) as a gift. The other things look really cool and I'd love to get some more of them. There's no such thing as being too old for Legos. ;D

Doesn't sound like the most cheap toy, no. At least not when you have only your pocket money ...
Sounds like a great gift! But you know, I am (nearly exactly) 29 years older than you, that's a bit late to start playing with Lego, I fear. Today I'd probably rather chose Legolas ;D
