Robby glared at his sister, but sighed with a huff. Amelia saw right through him, and as long as Aura was under her care, he'd never get a chance. Whatever, there were plenty of women once he became a Witch Hunter. He turned to Rylan and shrugged as he took the box.
"It's no problem," said Amelia with a shrug, as she glanced nervously at Rylan again, remembering the awkwardness of earlier. "Besides, Robby needs to be put to use."
"You'll miss me when I go off to the Training Academy," said Robby with a teasing smirk, as he began leading the way out, "Just you wait! When I'm a Witch Hunter and off adventuring, then you'll regret not being nice to me! I won't share any of my money with you!"
Amelia said nothing, her face paling slightly as she shook her head, scowling at her older brother. He was such a moron, and so right. She'd regret him being a Witch Hunter.

"Witch Hunters? Why would you be doing that?" Aura ask with concern. Her family had always gotten along with witches and wizards. When she was a child a local medwitch helped heal her after she got sick with a fever. She couldn't imagin why people would want to hurt them.

Rylan nodded toward Robby, "Of course," he replied, glancing toward Amelia. As the two sibling squabbled, he noticed that the girl was becoming slightly pale. He placed a warning hand on his friends arm lightly.
"Robby, perhaps we'd better leave such unpleasant things in the presense of such pleasant company." He smiled lightly to soften his words and kept his voice low, so not to draw attention.

Robby glanced at Aura's question, before Rylan cut him off. He nodded, letting Rylan's words sink in. Only Rylan could keep Robby under control, after all. However, he did owe Aura an answer.
"It pays well," he said to Aura with a shrug, "And there's adventure involved! Not to mention it means doing away with witches and wizards, and the world always needs less of those. But let's talk about something else, as Rylan suggested. Would you like to head to your home and check for- what was it Rylan suggested? Salvage the remains or what not?"
Meanwhile, Amelia tensed where she stood, and glanced away. Robby was such an idiot, and yet, his words were simple and honest. She couldn't help but bite her lower lip and begin walking, stumbling slightly and almost falling over.

Aura hears this and blushes at being considered pleasant company. Most men where taken aback by her appearance since strawberry blond was uncommon. Now with some burn marks and a lose fitting dress she was quite a sight.

"you speak of witches and wizard as if they aren't human. Yet they are. They have feelings and can be good or bad." Aura tells them quietly.

Turning to Aura, Rylan offered a hopefully reassuring smile as he spoke. "Of course, if you'd prefer to stay away at the moment, I'm sure you could go home with Amelia or stay here while Robby and I scope out the area."

Amelia said nothing, this conversation making her uncomfortable. She knew Robby would never understand, and while her heart swelled at what Aura said, she knew it was a futile effort. Amelia glanced at Aura uncomfortably, and she said nothing, glancing at the ground. As Amelia predicted, a muscle was going in Robby's jaw, thinking about their father, and the struggles their parents had faced thanks to that one awful witch.
"More are bad," was Robby's simple reply, closing the topic with a venom in his voice. As they weaved through the town, Robby waved to some pretty women, who waved back. Amelia was very quietly eyeing her brother, surprised he hadn't argued. Maybe it was because Aura looked so petite and fragile in that grey dress and the burns.

Aura gave Robby a confused look. 'how could he possible know that? It's not like he's met every single witch or wizard out there.' she thought. She chose not to say anything since the topic was over. 'I wonder what happened to him to make him think that?'

As they moved through the town Aura could hear the whispers. Some were horrified, wondering what had happened. Others sneered, if only becauses she looked slightly disheveled. Aura ignored all of this, but leaned into Joshua slightly as they walked

Joshua sighed at the change in conversation, watching Amelia carefully. He could also sense Aura's discomfort, and pondered what to do.
"Does anybody know the time?" He asked loudly, trying to move the conversation into safer waters.

Rylan breathed a sigh of relief that Robby had contained himself and not argued with the distraught girl.
"So how about it, shall we go and do damage control once we get Amelia home?" He asked Aura gently, not wanting to push to hard, but he liked to know what he should be doing.

"Looks like it's around mid-afternoon," said Amelia, grabbing the topic easily as she nodded to Joshua, "Probably dinner time soon. Will you stay for dinner? Rylan, will you join us as well? Vicky loves company, and I'd enjoy the company as well."
As Rylan continued, Amelia nodded easily to Aura, "You should! It's important to check what's going on at your home. The boys can take you while I rest my foot and help Vicky set up a bed for you."
Robby didn't say anything, instead glancing around at the townspeople. It annoyed him the way they looked at people. He knew it was part of the reason many men didn't appreciate him around, especially if he spoke to their daughters. It made him bristle with anger. Just because his family wasn't the wealthiest, and was a set of poor farmers, they treated him like so. He was stewing, the combination of witches and wizards had set him off, and anything could anger him now.

Aura nods "it is probably for the best. The nurse said I shouldn't be lying down for another hour or so." while she wished she could, she understood that it was for the best.

"Alright then, we can go to the wreckage and salvage what we can." He hesitated though, looking at Amelia. "Do you need help returning home? That foot can't be good to walk on yet."

"As long as its not an intrusion." Joshua smiled easily. "That would be lovely!"
He looked around at the townspeople, feeling uncomfortable.
"We should probably get out of here."

Aura looked relieved at the suggestion. "how do you suggest we get to the manor?" now that she thought about it, the manor was at least 20 miles away from the clinic. Though she wasn't completely certain about the distance.

"The manor?" asked Robby, turning his head to Aura in surprise. He hadn't realized she was of a rich family. That made him uncomfortable, and he tensed again.
"I can get there," said Amelia, looking at Robby, and then glancing at Rylan, silently asking him to watch her brother, "I've walked with worse injuries, Robby knows, right?"
"Yeah, she's clumsy," said Robby absently, "Where's the manor? We can head in the general direction. Can you walk, Miss Beckwin?"

"I believe so. We only recently moved in to it. Before then we lived some 40 miles away from here. My father...wanted to move here because business was doing so well." she tells them. "a lot of good that did us." she mumbles.

"I'm sorry to hear that your good fortune has turned sour," Rylan replied solemnly. He returned glanced at Robby and then Amelia, nodding as he silently promised to watch the other boy.
"We should leave soon, we don't want to be out when it's dark. Do you think you could ride, Aura? We could go by my house to get some horses- much faster that way."

"I think I should be alright. Thank you all so much for you help. I honestly don't know what I would be doing if not for your help. I don't have an friend in the area and I don't have any relatives." she tells them greatfuly. She looks to robert whose mood had soured over the course of this discussion. She hoped everything would be well soon.

(Well, we could use the house thread, though I think it's best we stay here until we go to Amelia and Robby's home.)
"Alright then, shall we head out then?" Rylan said almost cheerfully, glad to have all that settled.

(ok thank you. I have a description of the manor in the housing thread right now.) "Yes. We should go to see if everyone is alright." Aura agrees.

"I'll head back then," said Amelia easily, before turning to Joshua and lightly whispering, "Beware of Robby. He's in a mood, and he's fast to strike."
Robby nodded at Rylan, glancing at Aura and then Joshua. He frowned at Amelia's closeness with Joshua, but shrugged off the uneasy feeling. Instead he turned to Rylan and said, "Let's grab those horses!"

Rylan followed Robby's unhappy frown to see Amelia with Joshua. He rolled his eyes slightly in exasperation at his friends clear distaste. Then he turned to Joshua and nodded, "Let's go!" With that, Rylan led the way out.

Aura is confused as to why Robter seems so agitated, but follows along with the group quietly. "I wonder if anyone else made it out?" she whispers softly to herself.

((Switch now?))
Amelia hobbled on her way, while Robby turned to the group. He nodded silently as he said, "Rylan's home isn't far from here. Which sisters are home today by the way?"
