"Excellent creatures, aren't they?" asked Henry with a smile, "You know, we should shop! Let's buy ourselves something pretty!"

"As you wish." Annalise smiled. "That can be our disguise. What in particular are you looking for?"

"Anything that catches my eye," he said, as they neared the markets. Henry turned his head to stare at a handsome male vendor selling some fruits, "Though, I highly doubt the vendors are for sale. Do tell me he's not married."

"I think he's single or courting, im not entirely sure which." As Annalise spoke, a pretty young girl walked up to the vendor and kissed him. "Well, thats one question answered, anyway." she laughed.

"Why is it, that all the men I find are in love?" asked Henry with a mock pout, "Ah well, love wasn't meant for me anyways. Instead I sing ballads on the unrequited love. Even if I did find someone, it's not like we'd be able to marry. Frowned upon by polite society. How about you, Annalise? Any luck?"

"Not so far, but I live in hope." Annalise smiled. "You never know, all these male wizard in my house...I might find somebody nice there."

"Rylan!" called out Robert, rushing to where his old friend was. He could see he was selling the turnips, and didn't particularly care that his friend was working. For a boy of eighteen, he made quite a bit of noise as he ran. He didn't notice Amelia hiding behind something as he rushed to his friend. "Rylan! Guess what?! I found myself a job!" Rylan looked up from where he had reached out to prevent one turnip from tumbling away to see Robert. He gave a wave with the turnip in hand. "Fantastic!" He replied enthusiastically, "Doing what exactly?"

"I'm joining the Witch Hunters!" said arobby, finalky stopping in front of Rylan. He turned his nose up at the turnips, and examined them with his hand, "And you're selling turnips. Really?"

He proceeded to role his eyes as he swatted Robert away from the turnips lightly, setting down his own. "Yes, the crop was ready so it was a prime time to begin selling." Then he narrowed his eyes a bit in thought, "Witch hunters? Haven't heard of anything like that... Is it a new thing?"

"Yep," said Robby easily, as he grinned to some pretty market girls, who giggled lightly in response, "They've decided to handle the witch issue, and I'm joining up. It's about time something was done about those bastards. Not to mention the adventure I'd see, what with travelling across the land, fighting the evil bats, and bringing home a nice purse of gold. What could be better?"

"Sounds like something right up your alley." Rylan responded, privately wondering about the issue at hand. He'd never really taken a side on the Witch issue, but he supposed the time was coming that he'd have to... Well, he had always said that they witches meddled in the unnatural and they should just accept things as it is, so perhaps it was for the better that they were stopped. "What are they doing with the Witch's anyways, besides getting hunters? I haven't heard anything of this up untill now."

"No idea," said Robby with a shrug, "They've only just announced things. Supposedly there's a meeting today where a bunch of soldiers will brief anyone interested. Do you want to come with me, or are you selling turnips for the rest of your life?" Robby's nonchalant way of inviting Rylan to join the hunters with him was both Robby's way of asking Rylan, and his way of conveying to his friend that he was nervous to go alone, not that the boy would ever admit it when confronted.

Tilting his head in thought, Rylan hesitated. He was a practical boy and knew he needed to provide for his family, he was the only male, other then his increasingly aging father. "I'd like to come and see what it's like at this meeting," He began slowly, "But, with the family an all, I'd need to make sure that they were taken care of."

"Heck, my brothers would go down every day! What with Joshua marrying Evelyn next month, he'd be right nearby, since she's the miller's daughter," said Robby excitedly, as he grabbed Rylan around the shoulder, "Let's go!"

Offering no resistance, Rylan was easily pulled away. The town wasn't exactly known for crime, so he figured that the turnip cart would be safe enough where it was. Anyways, Robby really seemed excited so it would be nice to check out. "I'd definitely feel better knowing there someone 'round the family."

"Ry," said Robby with a shake of his head, "I'm your best mate, and I'm promising you that if my family isn't taking care of them, then I'll throttle them with my own hands. Though, to be honest, I'm sort of worried about leaving myself. See, last night, Amy brought home a guy!"

"He's the Earl's son," said Robert, scowling, "What kind of noble visits an innocent creature like Amy?! And then Vicky kept going on how lovely the two of them are, and I wanted to vomit! She's fifteen! Way too young to date!"

"Earls son?" Rylan responded, rather surprised. "That's an odd couple, for sure. Of course, I agree with you- Amy should keep her mind away from the lad's until she's a bit older."

"It's an odd couple for sure," growled Robby, "Dad says they're just friends. The Earl would never allow his son to court a peasant woman! But who says he has honest intentions? Amelia's young and he's just a year older, and we men mature faster! At his age, all I did was fantasize about women with long legs like the ones at Tuller's End, who beckon men in from the doors." Tis was a rather logical point, however, as usual, Robby continued with illogical thoughts, "And besides! Amy's better off just becoming a spinster! She doesn't need to get married, she doesn't even like kids all that much! She can help raise Vicky's kids. If she really wants to, I'll find a guy for her! I mean, I am her older brother after all! I'll find her someone decent!"

"True words," Rylan agreed, "Amy'd be catered to being a spinster- better off focusing on her work." He gave Robby a side glance as he walked alongside him, "I can imagine what I'd do if Victoria or Kaitlin brought home a lad- Pap would give 'em a long talking to. Both of them are to focus on helping Mum with the housework and little ones." Rylan turned to sweep a look around the road they were taking. "Who'd you think would be good for Amy, if she were to need a guy?"

"Exactly! I don't see why Vicky thinks it's important Amy get's married or engaged or whatever! It's ridiculous! She's too young! And she could do more with her life, like become a mid-wife or tailor. Sure they don't make much money, but she'd be happier," argued Robby, glad Rylan understood with his hordes of sisters.
"I don't know," admitted Robby as Rylan asked him. He'd never really considered a man for his sister, though both Johnny and Kent had discussed possible options. It wasn't like Amy was really going to stay a spinster. "I mean, you've got Victoria and Kaitlin, and they're both pretty happy for themselves. And they've been exposed to the townspeople more. Amy's never had anyone around besides family. I guess if I had to choose a guy, I'd want him to be someone I knew, someone I trusted. Someone who would treat her right, like a lady."
Robby looked sidelong at Rylan, and kept his head turned. In truth, Rylan would fit the bill for a perfect man for his younger sister. Even Kent had agreed when it had come up. But Robby would never want to ask Rylan into something like that, it would be unfair to his best friend.

"She'd deserve as much- she's a good lass and I think she'd do good with someone who be able to give her the chance to do some work. Perhaps she could do tailor work in her down time as a housekeeper, and possible future mother." Rylan shrugged, his oldest sister Mary had gotten married of her own accord to a traveling merchant, so he didn't seem much of her anymore. Giselle had settled with a blacksmith in town that their father had set her up with- she was reasonably happy and had her first child, a little toddler boy by the name of Caleb. Neither of them did any kind of work themselves other then typical duties, so Rylan didn't know much about a working wife.
In thought, Rylan glanced over at Robby and saw Robby seeming to scrutinize him. Rylan raised an eyebrow in question, unsure of how to ask aloud if Robby was hinting at something.

Robby looked innocently back at Rylan, his friend's gaze more than enough to suggest he was curious. As he thought about Joshua, and his scowl deepened, he decided it might be more than enough to make the suggestion to Rylan. At worst, Rylan would say no.
"Well, a farmer's wife would have a lot of work to do, wouldn't she?" said Robby innocently, "I mean, what with child rearing, helping sow crops, and all that stuff. Not to mention Amy has experience in that line of work anyways. Maybe I should search for a good farmer friend. One who I'm sure has lots of experience dealing with women and would treat Amy right since he's got sisters of his own."

Rylan rolled his eyes as he turned his gaze away from Robby. "Your truly horrible at being subtle." He told his friend teasingly as he considered having Amy as a wife. In all honesty, he hadn't really ever given true thought to marrying, he'd been so busy with the farm and all. But, he would have to have a child at some point to pass the farm on to- there was no way he'd be able to tend it as he aged.
"My mum, or I guess technically step-mum, but close enough to mum, does have a lot of work for her. She had to raise me, the twins, Giselle and Mary. Not to mention her own children, so a lot of her time was taken up by that and the care of our small garden that's for us specifically. But, once Mary and Giselle were old enough to help with the house work and garden, she had quite a bit of more time to herself." Rylan shrugged, "I expect Amy would be a good wife, and if she really wanted work of her own, she could fit in a little, especially once she raised one child to be old enough to help out."

"So, you'd be willing to marry Amy?!" asked Robby with delight. "You truly mean it! We'll be brothers!"
Robby thumped Rylan hard on the back excitedly, as he considered the news. It would make a great tale to tell, and after this meeting, he was definitely going to introduce Rylan properly to Amy. His head was spinning with delight. He'd solved the Joshua issue completely. Amy would marry Rylan, and she'd live in the farm nearby. He could make sure Amy was well-cared for.
"Dad'll be delighted! He loves you anyways," said Robby, babbling away. "You know, Amy's his favorite. He tries to deny it, but he loves her most. Probably because she was the last child he could give my mum until that mean old witch cursed him. He was afraid Amy was cursed too when she was younger, but now she's going to get married!"

Rylan almost put both hands up in warning, but instead he just kind of raised them an inch or two as he gave Robby an odd look, surprised how quickly Robby had concluded. Of course, that was normally how rash Robby's decisions normally were, so Rylan finally shrugged and returned to his normal expression as he choose his words carefully. "Don't get too excited Robby, Amy's great and all and I'm sure that it'd work out fine... But let's see how it plays out a bit before you start telling everyone and getting hyped up. Alright?"

"Right, yeah," said Robby, pausing mid-stride. "I'm sure it will work out fine! It's a brilliant idea!"
As they approached the meeting area, Robby glanced back at Rylan, "So, you ready to become Witch Hunters then?"
