"I'd need to see the home to check," said Henry with a frown, "But I'd assume a few expansion charms may work. But even then, we can't expand forever. The only other option is that we set your home up as an immediate relief camp, and then try and find a larger place for more people."

"That might be a better idea. While my house is okay, it's definitely not good enough permanently as a base. The king is funding their side, they have so much more than we could hope to have. We have magic though, that has t give us an advantage."

"I fear that the people surrounding Lord James may not make our path easier," said Henry with a mournful sigh, "If you can think of any place, do let me know. Otherwise, I shall try and find space during my travels. Is there anything else I can do for you today Annalise? Otherwise, I think it's best I let you return to your parents whilst I search for more allies, unless you wish to accompany me to search the town?"

"Two people are better than one, Henry. I can help you search, I know a lot of the people in this village."

"That you do," said Henry with a smile, "And I trust your judgement. You are making this far too easy for me."

"You can't do this all on your own, not when the king has so much and we so little to help us through this war." Annalise sighed.

"It is the sad truth," said Henry, "That often the persecuted are the minority. I doubt we can seek help from abroad either, as I hear things there aren't getting better. If other rulers decide to follow the English example..."

"Then that would be a disaster." Annalise finished. "But it's up to us to stop that. If it goes well here, other countries will follow suit. We can't let that happen, it could mean our extinction."
|

"Extinction, possibly. However, pure-bloods have a way of avoiding capture. No, it is the muggle-Norns and half-bloods who shall suffer. Our lives and livelihood will be in danger, but I hope we can survive it," said Henry.

"How are we supposed to protect the muggleborns when they've grown up being told how they're monsters? They probably hate themselves and are scared of telling people, how do we find them, let alone convince them to join our cause?"

"We have to trust our instincts," said Henry with a sigh, "Most admittedly won't trust us, some may have escaped or gone mad, harming themselves or others. But some, some may know they are different. Even a child when they understand their magic can have some control over it, if they practice. It will mean training your refugees as well, Annalise."

"I've always fancied myself as a teacher of sorts. My parents taught me well, and maybe I can do the same with these people. Maybe some of them will be interested in healing, we can always do with some of those if this does come to a war."

"War. The word itself disgusts me," said Henry with a contemptuous look, "Shall we be on our way then, Annalise? Ans I do believe you shall do a tremendous job. They won't expect much, just basic spells will be much better then none."

"I can handle that, Henry. But yes, let's go. The sooner we start, the better."

With those words, Henry stood up, and stretched. Flashing the waiter one last, charming smile, he offered his arm politely to Annalise, "Shall we pretend to be spies? Rebels? Assassins on the hunt? An old married couple? I do love a good drama! Or is the topic at hand too serious?"

"I'm 24!" Annalise laughed. "I don't think we'd make the old married couple thing. And fortunately, most of the wizarding families know mostly me or you. Will that affect the choice of which we choose to be? As for whether the topic is too serious... Henry, I find that if you can't laugh at the direst of situations, then you have no option but to cry."

"You are a gem, Annalise," said Henry with a beam, as he escorted her to the door, "And we shall laugh until the day we die! I for one, plan to go out with a bang! A death that people will smile upon hearing, not cry. Though, for the moment, I suppose I shall have to come up with a better disguise."
|
|
|

"A dramatic death...it's very you, Henry. You'll probably manage it in front of hundreds of people, on a stage or suchlike. But yes. A better disguise is needed." Annalise laughed, slipping through the door into the fresh air.

"Well, I was born an artist," said Henry dramatically, "Song and dance my passion! Stages are so conventional, I'm thinking atop a tower, facing hundreds of adoring followers! My violin strumming the last notes of my life, sounds like a good death to me!"

Annalise rolled her eyes, trying and failing to keep a straight face. "It sounds lovely, Henry. Now, the plan?"

"What plan?" joked Henry, before answering seriously, "We should move around the town, talk to various villagers and the like, see if we can gather some more information and see what they're thinking."
|

"That's a good idea, yes." Annalise smiled. "Where shall we start?"

"Far too good a question," said Henry with a smile, as he looked around, "The market might be best. It's easily crowded, and everyone needs to go there."
|
|

"The market it is. I'll keep a look out for anybody who's acting suspiciously."

"And I shall gossip with all the old ladies," said Henry with a grin, "I have yet to learn what kind of wenh seduced the baker's lad," said Henry gaily.

"Don't mock me," said Henry with a stern face, though his eyes were twinkling, "It takes a lot of skill to find out whether or not the mistress Noble of the land I'm in is a drunk or not. Especially when the old ladies suspect you're trying to swindle them of money."
|
|
|

"But you usually are trying to swindle them out of something, even if it isn't money! Food, mostly." Annalise laughed.

"Do I? I was sure I was simply bargaining," said Henry with a chuckle, "But they do have the most interesting items. How else was I supposed to learn what a washboard could do? Brilliant stuff, muggles. But you haven't lived until you try the lady over by the fish market's cheese, it's heavenly! Even the last day's bits when she'll give it for free if you spend the night drinking with her."

"I don't tend to spend too much time in the village, sadly. But I know quite a few of the stall owners!" Annalise smiled.
