My first day is tomarrow and I am currently annoyed with the $ of my books. Any suggestions of places to go? And everyone's thoughts about school in general.

The UK schools provides books, teaching materials etc, but at the end of the year any books (ie William Shakespeare or maths books), we have to give back for the next years group.

They do that even in college? In America it is like that until you go to a university.

Ooh. That's so annoying. I've always had books up to tenth grade, just had to deliver them back in the end of school. And then bam, I had to pay for my books.

Same here! The normal school hands the books out and you have to give them back at the end of the year, but later on, you have to buy them yourself.

I've got my OWLs, in HP terms this year It's bloody terrifying, that's what it is! But on the whole, I'm rather indifferent. At least I'm not going to university for another two years, so I don't have to buy my books just yet.

I like school. But on the other hand, I greatly dislike school ... I like school, because it gives me something to do. I could do without the homework ... I just got reminded of that I'm supposed to translate German >.< Not fun.
On the other hand, I like to have my hours free, instead of being stuck, learning math or biology.

I guess I'm indifferent because I think it's alright most days, but there's nothing I can say attracts me intensely.

I was indifferent to it in high school. When I was a senior, I enjoyed it more because it was senior year. For college, it's awesome. It sounds nerdish, but I love college. I love learning and reading. I'm the real-life version of Hermione.

For me, it's the teacher that decides if I enjoy school or not. I love me teacher's this year- I can respect them and they make it interesting. Most of the time, the teachers are eh, so it's okay... (Though there's always that boring teacher that can make blowing up things boring.)

I started college this year and both of my computer teachers seem very kind. My economics teacher is hilarious(He's sarcastic). My math teacher while very 'Prim and Proper' is a good teacher. My Orientation(a mandatory class that college use to get more money in my opinion.) is kinda overeager I guess. So I'm actually really liking this year. Hopefully my next three years will be like this.
As for high school I loved my sophmore through senior year. I especially liked the last two cause I took the hard subject early and just breezed through the last years. I only had one or two hard classes for those years.
Though I will say this. It's kinda odd. Every year my year moved up a grade a teacher we had that year would get pink slipped or transferred. Mainly they were all math teachers. Though we had three pretty bad ones.
First Math teacher was terrible. He became a coach for softball caus he threatened to quit if he wasn't made the coach. He knew nothing of softball and it showed. One time he 'accidently' walked into the girls changing room. And no one really took us seriously cause some girls and parents had complained so much about him that it was thought as us exaggerating or lying. I really don't know why the principle wanted him to stay as a teacher so badly cause he didn't know his subject. I actually did something I never thought I would do I became a smart ass to a teacher. I constantly questioned why his answers were different from the examples in the book, corrected him constantly, and anytime he graded my work and I knew my answers were correct I would go to another math teacher and get them to 'grade it'. Not to mention he constantly insulted students. Though I will say that is the only time I went behind a teachers back and acted the smart ass. I couldn't help it I hated him.
Second math teacher was pregnant and and had the attention span of a fly. She would be teaching for 5 minutes and then she would go off tangent about her volley ball team. During this you were not allowed to talk about anything else but volley ball. Though we could get her back on math if we let her talk for fifteen minutes and then asked about the lesson.
The third was a great teacher but had a favorite 'problem'. He 'didn't see' the raised hands of those that weren't his favorite. So it was impossible for a lot of students to ask questions. Luckily we made a system where the student who had the most problems and were not favorites sat nest to favorites and relayed their questions.
Wow. Sorry for the rant. Kinda got carried away. 'grins sheepishly'

I really loved my 3D Animation/maths/ tutor. She was brilliant and didn't treat me as student or disabled person, hell I didn't even have to do my work in her lesson, as long as I got something done then she was cool with it. I know it's morally wrong but I actually started to see her as a replacment sister to the one that I actually do have and I think she knew that but she never told me that it was wrong.
