Anyone doing it this year?
Has anyone done it before? If you have, would you recommend it?

The problem for me with doing it is that the NZ school year ends in mid-December, so our final exams are in November. So it's hard to juggle.
But last year me and a group of friends did it in October instead. It's seriously worthwhile if you've got writer's block because you just chuck in the stupidest things to your story and you can edit it once the month is over.
It's only 1,667 words a day...

NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, where you write a novel during the month of November and aim to reach 50,000 words. It doesn't have to be that good, it just has to be written. After it's over, then you can edit it to your heart's content.
1,667 words a day - that doesn't seem that hard, actually (though I'll probably end up eating my words). I'm seriously considering participating this year.

I'm writing one write now, but I could try that out for sure! It sounds like so much fun!

They've got a website and everything, with forums to discuss it, and if you pass the 50,000 word mark before the end you get a badge that says 'Winner!' on it by your icon.
