I want to know what you think would be the home for Harry and Ginny and their kids because there are really many options to chose from.
1. Grimauld Place 2. Harry's parents house in Grodrics Hollow rebuilt 3. A house in the countryside similar to the burow 4. A house in Godrics Hollow because the original house can't be rebuilt
I most often imagine the first one if the family stays like cannon and if it changes (like more kids or adopting a magical kid from Dudley when he doesn't accept it) tend to think that they would have gotten a house in the countryside.
What are your thoughts?

I don't think they lived in Grimauld Place. It was after all the place Sirius hated, and I don't think Harry wanted to raise his children in a place with Walburga screaming their ears off. Would be to annoying if a baby starts to cry, and Walburga then starts to scream *shudders*. Plus Sirius hated it there. They only stayed there in DH, because they had no other choice.
I think they bought a home in the countryside. Godric Hollow would be idealistic, but honestly, I think they leaned toward a mix of wizarding and muggle village, like Godric Hollow. Or maybe even away from everything. More Harry's style, where he can be free, and no one is ogling at the Potters.

But hasn't the change of heart Kreacher had shown that even the Black house could be transformed into a place fit for children?

Maybe, but I doubt he'd ever get rid of the portrait of Sirius' mother. Besides, I think Grimmauld Place has too many memories. I think they'd want a completely new house, so Harry and Ginny can start afresh and make their own memories.

My personal preference is that whatever the outcome, that Grimmauld place was kept.
If I were writing a fic, I'd have it that Harry gave it to Ron & Hermione as a wedding present. For two reasons: JKR stated that one of the reasons that Ron worked at WWW even while he was an Auror was that he needed the money, so it'd really have given R/H a leg up, and 2. Ron was a Black through his paternal grandmother Cedrella Weasley (nee Black) so the house would still be staying "in the family" so to speak.
I never liked that idea that the house held such negative emotions for Harry, sure Sirius hated the place, but I feel that had more to do with the fact that Sirius was a. trapped there, b. did not have the ability to make it his own home by refurbishing/remodeling it, and c. he had to put up with his mother's portrait and an ornery Kreacher. I don't think it was the house perse. Harry on the other hand would not have had those restrictions, and the fact that the house is warded out the wazoo would have made it ideal for the Potters since they would never have had to deal with nosy reporters if they chose to make it their home.
I also could see Harry and Ginny making it there "city" house since it's in London, and them having a "country" house either in Godric's Hollow or Ottery St. Catchpole. I'd vote Ottery since it'd put them close to the Burrow for easy access to Grandparents for kid sitting.

I don't think Harry got rid of it, but kept it more when he arrived to the city with the family. I've always seen him like country-houses, where the children can be free, and even play Quidditch if they want too. It wouldn't be a big house, since it seemed that there were only four bedrooms, when James wanted Teddy to move in. Plus they can always get the house warded by the Ministry. I don't doubt that the Potter's would have some priority in the Ministry. Or Hermione would help.
As for Ottery, I don't know.Ginny might have the syndrome of wanting to stay far away from her parents, although I don't doubt Harry would have liked it. But they probably taught the children early to use the fire. (Don't remember what it's called right now)

I always imagined that Harry gave Grimmauld Place to Andromeda and Teddy.

I think that they will live at some house in Godrics Hollow because Grimmauld Place it's not a place to raise children with Walburga screaming all day...

I agree with feladorn. I think he did give it to them, while Harry and Ginny went to live in Grodrics Hollow, but not in his parents' house rebuilt, but near-by. I think he would have wanted to go back to where he came from and have a family there. And he would be near his parents graves. I think Sirius would have some sort of stone there if not a grave. Maybe even Remus would buried there. But anyway I also think that Grimauld Place would be used for huge family gatherings. Like a gathering once a year when everyone from Hermione's parents to Fleur's little sister is there. That's the picture in my head in any case :-)

Posting here because I've actually been thinking about this
Handwaving the Harry/Ginny thing because I dislike the ship in general.
What about Harry's grandparents' house? Whether they were Charlus and Dorea Potter or not (though I like to think they were) the Potters were fairly wealthy (enough that James and Lily could outright buy a house in Godric's Hollow on a whim), James was born 1960, they could have bought the home in the 1930's. Houses then were cheap as chips (not kidding, 85% of houses in the 1930's were sold for under £750. In fact the average over the 1930's was about £500).
Although I dislike it, if the 1 galleon = £5 figure is correct and I don't adjust for inflation, then a house in the 1930's would have been 100 galleons (probably less actually)
That means there's a likelihood that James' parents left James at least one house.
It might not be the manor or castle that some people suggest (though again, I admit, I like the idea) but they probably did have a house and they only had one kid to leave it too. Who, in turn, only had one kid to leave it too.
So Harry probably does have another house - even if he doesn't know it.
Which is another thing that kind of bothered me. How incurious Harry is about his grandparents. You'd think somebody who'd wondered about his family would go 'hey, do I have grandparents? Other Aunts or Uncles? Anybody who isn't the Dursleys?'

He probably would, but, since JK never wrote about him going and searching for information, either he didn't do it during school, or he did it in the nineteen years before the epilogue, which just aren't mentioned. There is also the probability that JK just didn't think it important enough to write about. I mean, while it would have been nice to have a chapter or two, in one of the books, detailing Harry's search for and finding, information about his grandparents and family, I can't imagine many people being interested in reading something like that, particularly children.
Plus, it wouldn't really be useful for anything other than solving puzzles we're trying to figure out, and when writing a story, one does have to think about what will, and what won't, advance a story, so either JK didn't bother putting anything about Harry's grandparents in the story, or, if she did, her publishers probably cut it out.

Which would be even more reason to finally write that lexicon and add all these tidbits on one thought important in the books back then, but which so many fans want to know.
